Just had my scuttle panel off as the Autoglass guys broke the clips (not an uncommon occurrence it seems). I cleaned out the chamber whilst I was at it but I'm trying to re-seat the panel in the groove of the windscreen but it seems to be a long way from the glass when lined up with the plastic clip holes. Should it be sealed in? Chip

True - but if he wants a low mileage SE he's gonna have to pay for it.................

Tyre fitters who do not mark your alloys (and those to avoid)
ChipUK replied to Gizmo's topic in Tyres & Wheels
Gizmo Please add Newton Tyre Centre Unit 3 Alfred St Newton Le Willows WA12 8BH tel 01925 292323 www.newtontyres.co.uk Brilliant service and prices. They have great equipment that goes nowhere near your tyres Chip -

VRS tyres for alloys ...advice please
ChipUK replied to yannik's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
The XL means they have a more reinforced wall. usually they are for cars that carry more weight such as people carriers but should be more durable for normal usage Chip -

It's a personal choice. They need to be 205 45 R16 in size. The ones in your link are 205 55 which may affect the speedo reading too much You can check for size compatibility using this link http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=185&aspect=60&diameter=14&wheelwidth=5.5&offset=38&width2=195&aspect2=50&diameter2=15&wheelwidth2=6&offset2=38#content Get the best your budget can afford. Despite what many may tell you, some of the budget brands are ok too. I'm off to get some on Wednesday too! Chip -

Hi Vindaloo - I removed the elegance drawer and the headunit and was hoping there would be the right sized cutouts somewhere in the inner housing. Sadly no - which means cutting the right sized notches out. It will still leave a half din sized gap which will require some thought. The half din cubby hole I ordered isn't wide enough for the slot so not sure what to do yet although I have an idea! I may go back to the polo ones yet. Just depends on how how creative I'm feeling and if I get any ideas off anyone. Chip -

Really sorry to hear that. I know what I'd like to do with them if I caught them Chip -
Once my spiders come back from being refurbished I will have some 14" Elegance alloys & Tyres (185 60 R14) for sale They are in okay condition with one or two marks. Ideally you may want to refurb them. One has a inner bead bleed which I tried to seal with a quick fix but not entirely successfully. It would be no problem for a proper tyre place though once the tyre is off. Talking of tyres, they will need replacing sooner or later. If you are looking for the set I would like £120 or for those needing one for a spare I will sell for £30 each. I also have the 14" spare steel wheel which has a virtually unused Continental Premium Contact tyre on it -again £30 If you're interested just send me a PM. I can supply piccies if you want. They should be available at the end of next week. Chip

Not had any luck so far with fitting it. Anyone got any bright ideas?? -
Thnx Tech1e - it seems that I was given duff info by the dealers!

As far as I understand it depends on the age of the car. Some have the wiring loom ready to go others don't. I take it you've checked?
-
Anyone got these on their spiders/wheels? If so any piccies What's the consensus - worth it or too much messing?? Chip
