  1. Also doesn't the tsi have a chain instead of a timing belt?
  2. My 2006 tfsi is the same, reminds me of an old cavalier with the cam on its way out. I've had my car 2 1/2 years and it's always done it. The car still pulls like a train.I just ignore it.
  3. Another cause is this..http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/168275-airbag-light-on-a-top-tip/page__p__2047675__hl__airbag+light+a+tip__fromsearch__1#entry2047675
  4. Drat... didn't know. Never mind. By the way, forgot to mention, the new battery has a lug to fit a vent tube,do I need this? The old one didn't have one,I assume it was the original battery.
  5. Job done, about 15mins,a bit fiddly but ok. Battery (Exide 3 yr warranty)cost me 62 quid including VAT from Eurcarparts, not a bad price I thought.
  6. Yeah.page 259 "you must only disconnect the battery if the ignition is switched On" i think I will ignore that. Thanks for all the other help lads, will let you know how I get on.
  7. I think my battery has died,(petrol vrs)car wouldn't start yesterday morning. Got it started using jump leads and it was ok when I came out of work. I'm getting it tested today. How easy is it to remove the battery? I took of the cover last night but couldn't see(it was a bit dark) how the battery was held in.Is it just the 13-14mm bolt at the base of the battery? Also the owners manual says to only disconnect the battery with the ignition switched ON to prevent damage to the electrical components. Is this correct? I've never heard of this. Thanks in advance.
  8. Update...Don't know if it's the placebo effect but car feel much faster and smoother. I thought it was running fine but now it feel say 20bhp faster. Will know better when it's dry and I try it out on my favourite road-all within the speed limit obviously.....
  9. Just got mine back from Bickerton Skoda. All 4 replaced apparentely!! Fantastic service as usual. "Hiccuping" tickover seems to have gone. But then it didn't do it all the time, Only time will tell.
  10. Have you thought about, say, a 1.8t petrol.Ok it might cost a few hundred pounds a year extra in fuel but will be cheaper to buy in the first place than an equivalent diesel, and no DPF probs. Time to get the calculator out maybe. P.S the vrs is ok to tow with,I regularly tow my caravan with my petrol 2.0t vrs.
  11. I will be filling up with Momentum tonight, will let you know how I get on.(usually use V-power)
  12. Does anyone actually believe this? And if it is exagerated how are they getting away with such wild claims? Audi TT 2.0 (same engine as vrs petrol)17% better mpg,You've gotta be kidding.....
  13. As a matter of interest, how much would a coil pack, fitted be if we had to pay for it?
  14. Just called Bickertons at Sheffield and they have booked my car in for friday afternoon(2006 tfsi vrs)They said they will check the part numbers. Fantastic service. Hope it will cure the "hiccuping" tickover the cars had since I got it...
  15. We've got a "chav" driving one around the Frechville area of Sheffield.Silver Fabia vrs, black wheels.drives like a right d***head when the school kids come out for their lunch. My 14 year old son says him and his mates laugh at him trying to impress the school girls.
  16. I want better bulbs for my wife's Suzuki Swift. I've Used Osram Silverstars before and found them very good. However these on Ebay seem very cheap for a pair,(£8.73)do you think they are genuine? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290374232829?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_1737wt_1037
