  1. Hi O.C.D, I'd be interested to know as well on what polish makes the silver shine and really bring out the Silver well, whether it's PBWD, PBBH, AGSP, Meguiars mirror glaze, or what? Or is it wax that does that? Ollie.
  2. Theres mine fitted. I guess it's weighing up the costs between the two. Also the complications on washers and self leveling etc, complications and big costs which these don't have. Personally I actually think these look much better than the genuine xenons. Ollie.
  3. Thanks Chris I'm having to wait till my birthday (next month) before I do any detailing as of the cost for the pads, #105, clay kit, and BSD (As it all adds up with 6 items ) however once i've finished it I will post photos to show the result! Would you just recommend the white and orange pads? As opposed to the black, red and blue pads? (I know those others are finishing, fine and ultra fine). Cheers
  4. I've heard some horror stories on using tar remover and wheel cleaner/strong cleaners, these won't effect my paintwork will they? I'm paronoid about using anything on my wheels as I had them powdercoated. Also I read up something about certain polishes being used on paintwork which is suitable for hard, medium and soft paint. The fabia being medium paint. Watching Junkmans video this didn't get mentioned. I don't know if this is something I need to take in account or not. I will be using meguiars 205 and 105 polish.
  5. On mine the backing covers had a square hole in them, I actually bought some new ones to drill a 8mm hole through it to get the wires though, I then glued a square patch of neoprene on slitting where the hole was, and that seems to have sealed the units nicely. I did also run some silicone round the join just as a piece of mind. Everything else has been fantastic on them and they look no different to OEM ones except I went for the black inners as I think they look more modern and meaner
  6. They have had little spells of steaming up very minor but have cleared, they haven't misted up for a very long time and I've had them for a good 6-8months maybe even longer. however the 2010 plate BMW that parks next door to me his mist up quite a bit but then they clear. as a piece of mind you could silicone the join all around before fitting them The main thing that is to have a backing cover that seals properly
  7. Why not depo Xenons? Can get them in black and chrome, I paid £180 for a pair on a group buy I set up, fantastic lights and they really do look the t*ts! First thing I did was get them mot'd for aligning, they weren't far off at all and they will pass no problem. And that's with no headlamp washers so it's obviously not a requirement if you don't have them fitted
  8. Pretty much yeah, just watched the claying one. Excellent thanks may just go for the meguiars quick clay starter kit and see how it goes with being a newbie. A couple of questions, with the amount of clay you get with the kit, would it be enough to do the whole car? And once i've done one car will I need to buy a new one? Also whats the best way of cleaning the hex logic pads? Apologies for the late reply Cheers
  9. I need four new tyres. Looked on Camskill and they are £249.60 excluding having them fitted (Thats RS3's 205/45/16)
  10. How much you looking at a corner for 16" anyone know? (Around 205/45/16)
  11. That helps a lot thanks Andy. Nope never clayed before, and I wouldn't know where to start on what clay to buy either
  12. Many thanks for the above replies, all so helpful! Also i've watched Junkman's video which is interesting. I think my DAS-6 is a 4" so I may go to a 5 or 6" then go for the hex-logic white polishing pad (?) As for the polish I do already have a bottle of Meguiars mirror glaze 205 ultra finishing polish which I guess I could use As I have swirl marks will the light pad and finishing polish remove that? or will I need the orange hex-logic and something like a 105 mirror glaze? How do these steps sound? Wash shampoo turtlewax nano tech extreme Dry off using microfibre cloths White polishing pad with megs M.G 205 finishing polish Use a sealer after - best recommendations? Then finish with a Sonax xtreme Brilliant Shine I do apologise in advance if I sound stupid lol
  13. This is how the car looks at the moment after a wash
  14. Thanks KB, I think they have just done it?
  15. Hi All, I have a Silver Fabia vRS which I want to detail (Newbie to detailing). I have swirl marks I need to remove which was before I bought the car, but i'm also looking for a good wax for after i've washed it. I do also have a DAS-6 Dual Action Polisher so i'd like some advice on what pads i should be using and whatever to go with it. All i'm doing at the moment is washing it with Turtle wax Nano tech extreme, then using a micro fibre cloth to dry it off Thanks in advance Ollie
  16. I'd be looking at 40-50mm but I do do a lot of motorway miles
  17. Hi, regarding the JOMs what's the ride like on them? Is it quite a harsh ride? Cheers
  18. Hi Chris, Many thanks for your reply, after reading your thread I feel very inclined to buy myself one! It's also good to hear from someone else who is using the same. My only downfall is the £30 a year subscription charge, but I guess it's not massively expensive in the scheme of things. I presume this one doesn't pick up police cars does it? (The radars in them) as that's another thing that can catch you out if they see you speeding? Thanks, Ollie
  19. I used a strip of neoprene covering the square with a hole in the plastic and a + slit. I fixed the neoprene on with some 5 min glue and seems to work a treat all sealed.
  20. Anyone know if you can get a jack to jack aux lead connected to the standard symphony radio? And if so how to please? Many Thanks
