  1. does it wind down using the key? cant remember if my fabia does but with other vw's ive had if you unlock and hold the unlock position using the key in drivers door the windows came down, might be worth a shot.
  2. Ive been looking at armrests but its hard they seem to go for decent money and most arn't in good nick. I have a spare vrs seat cover ready to recover the arm rest, when i find a suitable one!
  3. just out of interest what indy did you get that quote from? i work in darlo, mines not due but just for future ref. thanks.
  4. going rate seems to be about £180 to supply and fit ive found.
  5. To check for a remap see my the thread I started here: http://www.briskoda....heck-for-remap/ When I discovered my standard vrs was actually mapped! Cost £7 for a cable off ebay and vcds lite.
  6. Have a look at this thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/267155-anyone-put-cruise-control-in-a-fabia-vrs/ I'm wanting to have a go too but am hesitant as you need to remove the airbag which I've not done before! Everything else should be 'easy' enough if your handy enough - assuming you have vcds access of course.
  7. have you checked the rear wiper water hose to see if thats leaking in rear passenger footwell too. Its under the trim below the seatbelt!
  8. Ive fiddled with plenty of bits in me car but never removed an airbag or the steering wheel! its that which makes me cautious! just had a read through the link but sadly the images are missing.
  9. Thanks for posting this. Thinking about doing Cruise control myself but lost this guide when the site went offline. Been quoted £180 inc parts locally to get it fitted, but fancy having a bash myself.
  10. I ended up buying these, not had chance to try sidelight but they work a treat to replace the interior map reading lights, so if you do decide not to use them as sidelights give that a try. Might save you binning them!
  11. Is there a direct fit for the fogs to replace with drl's. I never use my fogs, at least if they were drl's they would see some use. Often wondered if you could just replace the fog buld with a lower rated bulb instead.
  12. Hi mate, Did you have a oem symphony unit? Thanks,
  13. +1, ive had a wheel left loose before, found out due to two nuts which had fallen out and were rattling around under a cover the alloys had!
  14. +1 for romax, ive heard they do a good job too. not had any first hand experience tho.
  15. Thanks, ill check tomorrow. Also want to get a glance at the turbo to see if thats the original kkk. An unknown map i'd be ok with given no issues in 20k miles but a tuning box wuld be getting removed asap! Heard they are bad news!
  16. Ok, so i guess i need to check for a nasty tuning box. Ive not noticed one, but havnt specificly looked either, will take a look tomorrow. Any pointers on where to look exactly? Where do they normally plug into? Engine is BLT by the way. Thanks for taking the time to look and post.
  17. Hi folks, Thanks for the help so far. I have been out and logged 1,3 and 8 as follows: Again, doesn't mean a great deal to me as I don't know what stock figures would look like.
  18. Ill have a look under the hood tomorrow. As i say the car runs sweet as a nut and has done since day 1, ive done over 20k on my daily trip to work and back and im very happy with it. I just always thought it had too much go for a 130. Thanks for your help. Will repost soon with better logs.
  19. Ill rerun the logs tomorrow one at a time and repost them, thanks mate.
  20. Whats the easiest way to check if my car has a standard turbo? Is it on the turbo itself? Makes me wonder if its still got the original kkk unit or if thats been uprated to accomodate the map.
  21. panel filter wasnt in great condition so i chucked it. If it looks like its mapped i might need to arrange a dyno to double check tho. makes you wonder how many other 'standard' cars are out there with secrets maps on! You would think buying from a skoda dealer they would have checked or known! Still done over 20k miles with no problems touch wood.
  22. lol so much for being standard! how do you figure that out from the log? cant see anything that refers to bar levels.
  23. Hi, Had my Fabia vrs for coming up a year and a half, had no issues with it and it drives great. However I've always wondered if it's remapped. I bought it from a Skoda dealer as 'standard' however soon discovered a green cotton panel filter about a month after ownership. I have removed this and put it back it a standard filter. There are no other engine mods that I can see but it seems to pull very well for 130bhp. I've just got around to getting a cheap ebay cable with vcds. Never used it for logging before so not sure if I've logged the correct thing. I read group 11 shows turbo boost and should be around 1.4bar but not sure how to interpret the results regarding this. Also logged torque but unsure how accurate this can be? Any vcds experts out there who can understand this lot! Thanks. screenshot uploaded here: http://postimage.org/image/cqomzy76z/
