  1. Yeah just cancel it. If they have any business sense they'll give the discount. If not have a look at the Bluefin.
  2. The cost of diagnosis varys between technicians, it all depends which direction they take. They may find the fault straight away or it may be the last thing they test. You are having a turbo boost problem so could be anything from a split hose to new turbo and everything else in between.
  3. 90 NM + 90 degrees Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk now Free
  4. I got the discs from mtec http://www.mtecbrakes.co.uk/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&zenid=qc8r1jgj7t3a397ta2pa3krg93&keyword=octavia+vrs glad you got them done they are a pain sounds like you used the same method as me Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  5. He clearly uses impact tools on the rear lol I did mine using hand tools and it was abit more time consuming. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  6. The angle at 4.8 was also correct, the ignition timing angle is an output, it's what the ECU wants it to be based on cam position, not what it is. There will be room for tolerance. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  7. Martin, the ignition timing is retarded, After Top Dead Centre, seems to be normal at idle otherwise the ECU would set an out of range code based on RPM and throttle plate values.Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  8. *MAP and MAFSent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  9. MAF and MAF are two different sensors, check the wiring to the MAP and make sure the vanes/wastegate/pressure control solenoid are ok. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  10. If you are working on the front you can jack on the chassis leg, you can remove the plastic undercover but if your jack pad is flat and has a decent rubber you can get away with leaving it on. Then place the axle stands on the jacking points. If you are working on the rear and you have a decent jack, again with a flat pad, you can jack on the rear suspension arms centre mounting point to lift both sides of the vehicle. Place the axle stands on the jacking points. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  11. Did you pop the spring out too? I did the same while filling up, nightmare! Managed to bend it back into shape and refit it though. Just aswell it can't be bought separately http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/277079-petrol-flap-problem/ Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  12. 4 years with an inspection at 60,000 then every 20,000 until the renewal interval of 120,000 unless it looks worn on inspection. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  13. I heard the fix at Audi is to fit new pistons, a type with a shorter crown. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  14. If you have a proper jack (Not a toy from Argos or the RAC kit) you can jack on the suspension arm mounting point in the centre, to lift both wheels off the ground. Place the axle stands on the jacking points.Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  15. *New pistons with shorter heads.Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  16. I heard the fix at Audi is shorter piston heads. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
  17. Basically the timing belt drives the water pump so if you're going to go through the expense/hassle of changing the timing belt then you might aswell change the water pump incase it fails.
  18. I'd load test the battery, why did voltage drop to 11.15V? 12.24V isn't healthy either. If that was OK I'd look for a parasitic draw. Is the alternator constantly charging? Are the connections good? What is the condition of the belt?
  19. I've heard of a few TSI's (CCZA) needing piston rings latley.
  20. That code doesn't usually work when other promotional offers are on, check their home page.
  21. When you say you did a diagnostic check what do you mean? What did you do?
  22. Should be checked and adjusted after any steering and suspension work has been carried out.
  23. Yes they should've but they also charge for it.
