the truth about electric cars
What is the 'Grown by 800,000' with Motability? They have 800,000 people as customers, but that is from 1977 to now. 47 years. It was there 700,000th Motability customer reported in October 2023. So a growth of 100,000 in 12 months. Really?

the truth about electric cars
@Winston_Woof Why 3 Approved drivers?, it is not a Motability car. I do not have any Approved drivers on the car now from Motability. Exempt from VED as a Disabled driver. I already have insurance for 2 cars i own. I have Break Down cover from my Bank Accounts, as does my partner. You pay at least £11,000 in 3 years for the pleasure of a new car for 3 years lease. £75.75 a week just now. x 156 = £11.778. It goes up each year. Then any advance payment you make. So really £12,000 for the next 3 years unless you get the likes of a Dacia Spring. 156 x £60 = £9,360 for 3 years, car and maintenance, insurance and a Free Home Charger or a BP Subscription for 3 years. Maintenance covered but Motability only have them serviced at 2 years and before 3 years and a MOT and Motability use the Warranty on any Warranty Issues. They do not let the manufacturers take the pith. And neither did i when Arnold Clark tried telling me the Corsa Electric needed drop links and discs and pads. But said when reminded it was a Motability car that Motability would not approve the work. I told them they would as i had sent them the Technicians Video sent to me in error thinking i was a MUG PUNTER. I have had 13 Motabiity Lease cars and bought 2 with HP From Motability and owned those for 17 years and 6 years. I used to buy and sell Ex Motability cars starting in 1979 with Mini,s then in 1982 with Metros.

the truth about electric cars
I had a Survey in from Motability yesterday. I said i would not be getting another Motability car at the end of lease. The question was Why? I said because i will buy an Ex Motability EV for much less than Leasing from them. 39 hours to charge a 78 kWh battery. Necessary if the battery is empty and you want to charge it to have 100% and over 240 miles of range available.

the truth about electric cars
& if Scotland had a Wealth Fund and the UK had not squandered the revenue from Oil & Gas since the early 1970,s what a different state things might be. Same now with Renewables and money paid to buy electricity from overseas while paying those that can generate electricity not too.

Do dealers want to sell anymore?!
- Digital Dipstick
Strange. All others leave the factory set on Variable / Flexible servicing but the PHEV should be on Fixed Oil Changes. I wonder if it was reset at the PDI when changed from 'In transit' mode.- Light assist
Welcome. 2.0 TDI SE Business from 2016 had bi-xenon self dipping, no idea about the 1.6 tdi. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/478799-b-xenon-main-beam-question- 2020 Superb 2.0 4x4 272hp potential purchase
Hopefully a full itemised list otherwise not a Full Main Dealer Service History, as i remind them to to wind up sales people. 3 years / 30,000 miles on the Haldex, brake fluid at 3 years then each 2. Pollen filter each 2 years or sooner. & Air Filter not left unchecked to 6 years / 60,000 miles like some show. DSG Wet Clutch DQ381 at 80,000 miles or sooner. DQ500,s @ 40,000 mile. Fixed Regime guidance.- Undertrays missing
Not sure under trays inhibit corrosion as they are not sealed or making a vacuum. H2o and air still gets to the metal. Maybe not so much mud or moisture though. The under trays to keep stuff hidden right enough. Out of sight out of mind.. Pre winter is a good time to get any Rust inhibitor treatment applied.- 2020 Superb 2.0 4x4 272hp potential purchase
@travo A Full Main Dealer History of Servicing is a History of everything main dealers do. A Full Service History not showing that everything was done to the Manufacturers Guidelines, Advice, Schedule or Specification is not good. A FMDSH should be showing the Haldex as done as and when due, brake fluid etc. Not Just Oil & Filter Inspection Services & Extended Scope being done as that does not mean extras like Haldex, Spark Plugs, DSG, Brakes etc.- Digital Dipstick
@Jimbobby12 Is you cars Service Indicator not showing now when the first service is due. Miles & days? If this crowd deal with your enquiry it will be interesting in the answer they come back with if they refer to a Technical Department (call a friend) or advise you ask at a Dealership. Others will need to know the 'Official advise' on 1.5 TSI PHEV,s.- the truth about electric cars
BYD recall. Various articles. Some say steering, India Auto's say Fire Hazard affects 100,000. some 97,000, In China. Some, 'a small batch of Tank Plug-in,s. 2022. @Graham Butcher UK. DVLA Recall. Alexander Dennis (Bus builders in Scotland) BYD AD ENVIRO400 1 recall. Hispacold HVAC system which might result in a fire when vehicle is left unattended. ............ Already this. Nothing to do with the Recall Labour Government backing UK industry and jobs. Sir Keirs father was a Tool Maker....- Digital Dipstick
VW are still showing the same. Read the Warranty T&C,s an then get in writing if the Servicing need not be by the Manufacturers Recommendation, Guidelines, Schedule or Specification. It is fixed Oil & Filter changes. VW have said 9,300 miles in the past and 12 months and Skoda 9,400, or the usual, they have no idea so say 10,000 miles. DQ400-e DSG service every 40,000 miles or sooner.- Digital Dipstick
@Jimbobby12 Best you get the answer from the Master Tech if it is required to be on a Fixed Oil & Filter change regime. Servicing might well be done variable / flexible, @ 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles but not the Oil Changes. People have no way of knowing how often the engine fires up, or is there now something to show the miles done using petrol or do you just have to go by how often it gets filled up?- Digital Dipstick
@Jimbobby12 Is it a PHEV? Fixed Regime Oil & Filter changes, or it was with the 1.4 TSI.- the truth about electric cars
We know they are First Registering cars. Even MINI, BMW, Rolls Royce cars that have a 'Suspended hand over' because of a Recall on Brakes. Manipulation of 'Sales' that are not sales to the public, then the New Cars that were due for Delivery to Motability Customers that are really quite a high percentage of EV,s. There are lots of EV,s coming back in after 3 years lease from Motability and they are at BCA,s or will be this month and next as the customers get their new lease car.- Do dealers want to sell anymore?!
@ericm0hff If Lightcliffe Skoda really want to sell the 2 they have then surely they are going to be helping you know the facts about the car, spec of it, and where they got them. Surely Skoda / VW UK know they have them in the UK and are offering for sale. There will be an Insurance Broker / Underwriter that will help. BUT, are the Grey Imports, so an issue as far as parts. ? Is there a 3 years Manufacturers Warranty on them?- the truth about electric cars
Cars not being bought and sold every year or 3 for business users is Simply Clever and should be encouraged maybe. Business should not be helped financially to prop up the UK,s new and used motor trade. There has been plenty incentives for business use of BEV,s. And the ridiculous high grants to others that just meant the RRP of new EV,s was ridiculous.- the truth about electric cars
Total guff as far as much posted about EV,s and people's incomes or wealth. Business users of EV,s were and are in all kinds of employment and income. They drive what they get it are given. Then there are self employed using for business or saying they are and it is BIK that might be the important thing. Then grants. That market and the vehicles bought or leased is something very different from just Social, domestic, pleasure and maybe commuting. @EnterName have you followed any of this Truth about EV,s thread up to now? - Digital Dipstick
