Thanks for that. What does your Service Indicator show for Oil Service, is it a Fixed Oil & Filter regime, was it @ 9,400 miles / 372 days when you got the car, & is there an Inspection Service showing as well, and is that at 2 years?

New Skoda Elroq 2024
- Replace diesel Yeti with 1.2 Tsi - or different car entirely?
@Prezafab Do you know if it was a 110 or 130ps engine?- ericm0hff
@ericm0hff The car might not be First Registered in the UK and have VED, but the Skoda Dealership knows all about the story of it being Imported and can give the VIN and be a bit helpful as far as the CofC & getting it Insured and the actual spec of the car. By me putting @DAN@ADRIAN FLUX i hoped he might be along with some assistance.- Fit like, a'body....
Foos yer doos chiel? Far ar ya in Grampian?- the truth about electric cars
@wyx087 The Price Cap is ridiculous. The many pay loads for energy capped at some random figure that OFGEM sets, while you me and Patrick McGee can get cheapo electric to balance the grid. OFGEM are a joke, but not a funny one. A Regulator that does not regulate. Not fit for purpose. The National Grid. The not fit for purpose National Grid not Nationally Owned. Now we have GB Energy coming. To finance who knows what with Public Money that will result in no cheaper energy for the General Public. ............... The crazy crazy thing is the payments to Wind Farms / Turbine owners to stop generating energy because the National Grid does not require it and locals to wind farms object to Battery Storage that could have that electricity from local transmissions. Public facilities like Leisure Centres, Swimming Pools, Libraries closed because of the cost of energy while there are the likes of Baron Nicol Stephen and business partners, Sam Cams family & many others making even more money not generating electricity.- Help needed to diagnose odd wobble when accelerating?
Best get the car on the ramp and someone competent look under and around and be sure it is safe. Have you checked all the wheel bolts for tightness? Jacked up and felt for movement of wheels / bearings? Are you sure that Tyre Weld has never been used in any tyres? It can come off and form a ball in a tyre that feels like as you describe. Have you looked properly at the tyre wall that requires getting to the other side for a bulge?- Tyres "du jour"
Rear to front is OK with not just good tread, but tyres that have not become 'shaped' from being on the rear as many a tyre does become, especially wider ones. Hardened tyres that have lasted without obvious wear just because of the compound. It should not take long after they are on and at the correct pressure to know if the traction is pathetic in the damp and the steering skittery.- First Elroq on Autotrader - £47,324 for 85 Sportline with Maxx package
Expect What Car / Autocar to have it as Car of the Year 2024 then even if they have only driven Left Hand Drive models in a good weather location while being wined and dined.- Replace diesel Yeti with 1.2 Tsi - or different car entirely?
Well a car with Fiat badges but a Stellantis group vehicle like Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroen, DS, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Ram Trucks and Vauxhall. PS. I just followed a new registration Citroen 3 Aircross, the size surprised me, never looked close at one or seen inside.- the truth about electric cars
Linked to the price of gas even. Everything including gas is linked to the price of oil. Israel produce their electricity with coal and oil, maybe solar and import petroleum. Emissions really not their biggest concern, and neither is the price of butter or coal, oil, or gas, or weapons of death and mass destruction, the USA and the UK are the gift that keeps on giving.- the truth about electric cars
Cash is not going to be outlawed, and when there is power cuts tills do not open, and scanners and card readers do not operate, just as fuel pumps and electric chargers might not. Unless there is back up power, or battery storage for that establishment / area. Then traffic lights do not work. Funnily Average Speed Cameras can still operate like the Portable ones that have been recently set up in the area of the North Coast 500 roads where there was no need to connect to the mains electric.- Driving Style, choices vs manufacturer advice ....
A Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) is an Automated Manual. Be that a twin dry clutch (DQ200) or wet clutch DQ250, DQ381, DQ500 etc. With Autohold enabled and working the DSG in D or S is not pulling forward or putting pressure on the components, as it is not if stopped and foot on the brake pedal. Autohold has the brakes on, and the brake lights on.- Replace diesel Yeti with 1.2 Tsi - or different car entirely?

- Skoda Fabia with asthma...?
Welcome, A mod can maybe move your thread to the Fabia Mk2 section. As to removing the oil filler cap. The cap is not just to keep oil in, if there was a vented cap needed there would be one fitted.- Excessive Consumption Oil Skoda Octavia III Combi 2.0 TDI 4x4 150hp
The Maximum oil consumption as given by VW Group including Skoda is not 0.5 litres in 1,000 km. Dealership staff might say that oil consumption is normal or within tolerances. They just say that in some conditions they might use that, and in the first 5,000 km might use more. *That is what they say about every VW Group engine from 44 kW up and petrol or diesel, 3,4,5,6,8,10 or 12 cylinder.* It is too much oil use if using that much under normal driving in normal conditions and not lots of short cold start runs..- Advice buying skoda
If they are 2.0 ltr engines petrol or diesel they will be 7 speed Automatics, they are Automated Manual gearboxes / DSG,s need serviced every 80,000 miles (Direct Shift Gearbox.) If they have AWD then that has servicing intervals. If not 2.0 ltd engines we can tell you about the DSG fitted.- My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
Maybe we will be going back to the future, or the future will be like the past. It might not just be shortages for transport fuels, but also gas for generating electricity, so brown outs for one and all other than those that can generate their own electricity and be Off Grid and boil their kettle.- My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
@Graham Butcher I think if you really try you could imagine, and also think back to the Oil Crisis in the 1970,s, rationing, and fuel shortages since. Limits on fuel you could actually get. Yes the EV charging is very much a minefield that many have not the faintest of an inkling they are going to face with Charge Place Scotland and many of the 32 Council Areas in Scotland. There is really no comparison is there with liquid fuel though! We are talking about an infrastructure in Scotland that is less than fit for purpose and has held back Commercial Investment by many years. Business were having to compete with Free Charging at chargers owned by Councils, & owners getting grants to install chargers had to provide charging FREE for 2 years. (Some dodgy ones made sure the chargers were out of order to the public but still working for their vehicles...) UK Public use Filling stations are not Owned and Run by local councils like some EV chargers in Scotland and then Maintained or not & then Administered by a Commercial Business badly on behalf of a Government Agency and the Local Authority so really the General Public and for running things badly millions of public money goes to them.- Replace diesel Yeti with 1.2 Tsi - or different car entirely?
@Edinyeti a Dacia Duster in only 5" longer than a Yeti.- ericm0hff
Surely Lightcliffe Skoda know all about them then, have the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and the VIN can be used to arrange Insurance. Maybe the Insurance Brokers here can help @DAN@ADRIAN FLUX or the others. ? What is the 1.5TSI, it is a ACT, or just a 1.5TSI without ACT, and is it a DSG Auto?- the truth about electric cars
'Don;t worry be happy'. Stay calm and carry on. There could be a pandemic again, and a Bulk carrier blocking some shipping route like the Suez canal, a volcano might erupt cause chaos in the skies and the Internet Super Highway might be broken. Then the UK could suffer a winter like 1962-63. PS, many people do only deal in cash and cash is what they have when shopping, or fuelling up etc. They do not use Pay at Pumps, just as they will not be using EV chargers.- ericm0hff
@ericm0hff In the other post you have i asked you about the Slavia you have seen at a dealers. Good to maybe put a title to your posts to do with the subject of the post.- the truth about electric cars
I know what @domhnall posted. But WTF you keep on about just gets lost along with the various guff. - Replace diesel Yeti with 1.2 Tsi - or different car entirely?
