  1. Re Tradition. Staggered wheels are no unusual. #Tom Jones. Audi RS3 option wider front wheels / tyres. As far as a Spare/Emergency wheel, front wheel drive or rear wheel drive of a slightly different total circumference, tread type, compound, pressure, width, tyre pressure, maybe GREEN Unused. Slow down even if there is no WARNING Sticker. 50 MPG max. Reset the TPMS when you fit the spare, it may then not show any TPMS warning until you refit the correct size tyre. Front and rear or one new replaced tyres might be slightly different tread depth, circumference, total diameted. AWD, Part time AWD / 4x4 can be different. CC / ACC disabled etc.
  2. VERTU taking over all over. Just not North of Dunfermline yet. So they are only about 2/3rds up the UK Mainland.
  3. VW 502 00 is not Long Life oil it is for Fixed Services. TSI,s not TDI,s. Usually that is 5w 40 FS What engine have you and in what country / world region are you? Do you not need oil to VW504 00 / 507 00, For fixed or variable Oil & Filter change regimes.? 5w 30 FS III or 0w 30 FS III .................... Or with most newer engine after 2018 maybe with recommended spec of VW508 00 / 509 00 0w 20 FS IV. (Not to be back dated Euro 5 & older engines.)
  4. @nicknorman Was West End Stirling that much better a experience than John Clark? Have you been into Skoda Dundee John Clark? Much better than Perth or Dundee John Clark IME.
  5. Best place is not so far. Have you never used them? http://victoriagarage-maud.co.uk Proper Servicing, proper mechanics.
  6. It would be surprising if VW502 00, so 5w 40 FS not Long Life was used. But life is full of surprises. I think you can reset your type of Screen without plugging in. But if it was changed from Variable to Fixed it needs plugged in to change back. Others will know. PS Replace Spark Plugs every 40,000 miles.
  7. Only issue was years back and there is a thread here, i put it in with whatever was already left and they were not compatible. Then there was bacteria in the mesh filter. It did not go to jelly though. I bought bottles reduced to half last month just before they put out the new stock.
  8. No idea about your screen. When set etc. You need the Servicing set on Flexible / Variable. Oil Service & Inspection service if is shows Inspection. 18,000 - 20,000 miles / 24 months not 372 days / 9,400 miles. Long Life oil used, VW504 00 / 507 00, 5w 30 FS III. PS What engine has the car got? PPS I see a 2014 1.2 TSI, but had to look at the profile to know.
  9. After 15 years or actually 13 because Skoda changed 2 years ago back to Brake Fluid @ 2 years and each 2 years. Cash Cow. VAQ front diffs are @2 years / 20,000. Changed from @ 3 years / 30,000 or never tell the owner. Nice if now they service the Haldex Properly and not just more often do half the job. Makes maintenance / servicing damn expensive. BUT, stuffs them up. Greedy Barstewards. Used cars, SKODA APPROVED, FMDSH, they best be selling ones 2 years old or older done to the Manufacturers Recommendations, advice, specification, guidelines.
  10. Millions of cars sitting for sale in garages and unregistered in the UK, not all Electric. Petrol / PHEV. Been sitting unsold for months, occasionally fired up, battery charged etc. maybe on runways, at auctions or car supermarkets. All doomed by contaminated petrol from having a little added at the factory or preparation site,or previous owners.
  11. Who are you hearing from? What do you think is contaminating, bacteria? Water / H20 might be an issue, condensation. Keep the tank full in winter, with winter spec petrol as sold from late October in the North of England. Best keep firing up the engine and not just running on electric. Water in oil and rust in the engine is more of a worry if you have a keeper. You show as being in the UK. E10 has been what 95 ron is for 4 years now. It does not all have 10% Bio Ethanol. It is a different formulation Winter and summer, less hygroscopic. Best not have 6 months unused petrol in your tank even if E5. E5 in the UK does not all have 5% Bio-ethanol in it. Regional dependent and if ESSO or from Greenergy, so Tesco Momentum 99, and which port / depot it comes from.
  12. Timing chain issues with early 1.2 TSI,s and Leads, and from 2013 so 12 years ago so noise complaints. They are doing quite well in their millions as Euro 5,s and then came the Euro 6 and cam belts. A damn sight better as far as reliability than many other 1.0 or 1.2 3 or 4 cylinder engines from European Manufactures. @simonfi How many miles had your engine done, what age was it and how long have you had the car?
  13. A Full Service History is great, but you need to know it is a History o everything that is scheduled, recommended by the manufacturers actually done. Tyres good, brakes / discs good, windscreen good no chips. Re the Cam Belt replacing, that will be quoted at between £800-£1,200. Since 2023 Skoda changed as VW told them to maybe double the mileage the car has done. If it was at 50,000 miles in early 2023 & the cambelt not done it was not serviced to the manufacturers guidelines, advice, schedule or specification. (But that was UK only advice from VW, as the UK is not a dust rich country.) So annual / 9,400 mile oil and filter of flexible, 2 years, 18,000-20,000miles. Pollen Filter @ 2 years. so twice, Air Filter at least once, Spark plugs replaced twice. Brake Fluid Replaced. A Main Dealer would be saying the AC should have been serviced.
  14. Many car manufacturers have recalls or service campaigns going over Airbags including Skoda / VW. With Stellantis and the 'Do not drive' keepers / owners can be compensated by the day.
  15. Starting at 1,100 rpm and dropping within a minute is not an issue. For some staying at a high RPM is. Caused because of GPF,s. Various threads on here cover that issue.
  16. Stellantis models. Do Not Drive. £22 a day.
  17. This is the first 1.2 TSI with a head gasket failure that i have read of on here. A salvage engine might well have been a 'simply clever' fix.
  18. @JezHarris Has the Dealership got their or their Dealership Groups Area Warranty Manager onto the case of your Warranty? Has the Warranty Underwriter / providers Communications Manager or person that approves claims shown you where a Mechatronic Control Unit failure is in Exclusions with the warranty?
  19. The box is a 7 Speed Twin Dry clutch DSG simply because that is what was fitted to 1.6 TSI CR,s with FWD. As to Main Dealers and getting a DQ200 Serviced. For years the Service Desk was telling owners they needed doing. & for Years Service warkshops would not do them. @super717 might tell us how he has got on trying to get someone to service his. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/532929-super-717
  20. This letter below was 2013-2015 DQ200,s. A Service Campaign. Many never got '34H5' done and many Keepers never informed. Plenty failures. After 2015 there were more issues, Software Updates required and uprated Clutch Packs. Covered in TPIs. 'See Fabia mk3 section/ 'Famous DQ200 Clutch Slip' thread. ' This is not just Fabias from 2015. Euro 6. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/439395-the-story-of-the-fmous-dq200-clutch-slip
  21. @Exkiwi Yes 2009-2012 over 5 million DQ200 DSG,s recalled world wide, excluding Europe which is not in th World of VW Group. (in 2014 they were forced to do a Service Campaign in Europe, EU /UK) Synthetic oil changed for mineral and a Software update. '34F7'. Then 2013-2015 the issue was overheating / pressure and another Service Campaign. '34H5'. Many cars never got that done. Cracked boxes, accumulators, MCU leaks resulted. In NEW ZEALAND 2012 ALL DQ200,s were RECALLED, all got a BRAND NEW MCU & Software update. That was less than 3,000 vehicles. In Australia there have been 3 RECALLS now because vehicles missed. 2009-2012, 2012-2016. So OP,s DQ200 DSG. A 2019 and nothing to do with any of the above. PS China / Asia 2012 VW had to put a 100,000 mile / 10 year warranty on the DQ200,s. Because there were Governments that could tear them a new one, like in the USA.
  22. Guest_ replied to sharpest's topic in Škoda Scala
Lose use of R&D and procurement at Skoda and VW and fitting systems with glitches and doing it model after model of vehicles. A very commonly reported issue that is dangerous or potentially and yet it seems nobody has died yet because of it. When the car had hit the brakes there are people that have said it caused a fender bender..
  23. @JJC77 when you find an Automatic Specialist to check / diagnose the issue of the DQ200 with no service scheduled or guidelines for oil changes they will know it has 2 oils to chsnge, in the box and in the MCU. Do not let just anyone mess with it.
  24. When you put a vehicle in for a service you are signing to allow them to do a Software update / enhancement if there is anything outstanding. If you do not want them doing any Factory Reset or Updates put that in writing. The Service Partner is working for you. If you have any Warranty Claims though they are your Agent and the Warranty providers. ? What sort of mods / bits of coding is what matters, if it is about a Warranty.
