  1. Main Dealerships have Technician & Fitters, not really Mechanical Engineers, or if they are they are not there to mess about making faulty parts fir for use. They replace parts.
  2. The e-brake is active but just on the rear brakes, in P the front wheels are locked, maybe the Autohold gets activated so that then the front brakes are also acting on the disc. Just thinking aloud.
  3. Corrosion of the controller is not uncommon.
  4. If a Euro 5 1.6 TDI CR that has had 'The Fix' & it gets rolled back and a remap there is the flow device in the air intake to remove also.
  5. @Vassilis I was not aware of your country because i never looked at your profile & you never said. You will have mechanics, people who prep cars for Motorsport etc. Just have what you want done safely and do not just go having pedals heated, bent etc, or the foot pad repositioned willy nilly. On some cars i remove the Rubber from the pedal / decorative top and put on Skateboard Deck Tape. (Sandpaper). As that is all the modification needed. Other 6 ft 2 drivers will be along hopefully. I take it you have big feet / shoes.
  6. Welcome to the forum. Your location shows Essex. Is it not worth going looking at the different cars?
  7. Anything can be done. Just have it done by a qualified motor vehicle engineer, maybe one that converts vehicles for customers of Motability or for people with disabilities. Proper conversion, and declare to your insurer who might want to have an engineers report. I have no right leg and drive standard 2 pedal cars with my left foot. Usually with the brake pedal cut down and the accelerator maybe moved to wards the brake pedal.
  8. @autliebe Why not just do what suits you rather than ask people you do not know & thinking of ignoring the manufacturers advice. It is out of your pocket the money comes from if it does not go well? What is the difference in price of a tank of 91 ron compared to 95 ron?
  9. That is correct, FWD , 250 Nm or under and max 192 PS with a Polo 1.8 TSI GTI DSG. But you never posted that you had a AWD 4x4. So we / i were left to assume you had what the OP posted about. Or were asking about draining a DQ381,s MCU. A 2018 Karoq could be a 1.0 or 1.5 TSI ACT or a 1.6 TDI without AWD. So a DQ200 DSG. 2 Oils, and you can just drain the MCU.
  10. Does it not actually have as some had in Europe / EU until 10 years ago. 95 (91) or 98 (95) ?
  11. An interesting figure the SMMT or the Dft / DVLA could maybe publish is how many BEV,s are registered in the UK and how many are on SORN or 'In trade' & how many have now got VED duty paid. & how many are VED class 'Disabled' & on the road covered by VED exempt certificates or with Motability Group exemption. Over 1/4 of a million EV,s sold just in 2025. Holy camoly. This is another Vlogger that is pretty Anti EV, and one that makes glaring errors quite a bit in Vids, and gives opinions. If he sticks to reading articles and not spinning one way or another then that comes down to the facts of articles being accurate. High rate PIP Mobility component £77.05 a week if paying full amount to Lease a car, some are less than the £77.05 a week. So not £77.75 a week. Since the Award is just the £77.05 a week until next Aprils rise. Getting Facts from AI is an Issue, they are often wrong. Not factually correct. Motability Adbvance payments were based on Purchase Price of car with Manufacturer discounting and depreciation anticipated. Resale value at Auction. They are making losses, big losses and a Petrol or Diesel RRP might be lower than the EV, but the Manufacturer is selling the EV cheap to them. eg Ford Explorer / Capri. They will sell End of Model Petrol / Diesels cheap sometimes to get rid of and the Advance Payment can be low on those. But the manufacturers are trying to help the Fleet C02 average and get the EV,s first registered. Worth seeing how many £billion Motability have in the Bank. The 5 banks that have the Money, this being what was done to help them in 2008.
  12. ??? Where did the figures come from about how many homes in the UK have solar panels? Is it from Government grants applied from & received, or from figures from professional fitters, or the number of Panel sold, from the Office for National Statistics or the HMRC. It is a wet finger in the air guess, staistics, guesstimates, make it up as a minimum. Like how many UK houshold's have Private Driveways or Off-street parking. 'They' do not know. Just 'More than'....
  13. @PetrolDave I looked and saw he was in India so wondered how you knew the car was not mapped for the 91 ron.
  14. It no longer matters about posting on a public forum about exceeding the speed limits & loss adjusters checking social media if the drivers was in an accident anytime and deaths or life changing injuries. The cars brain can just be checked and the GPS information will be there if there is need to build a case against a driver as to their usual driving behaviour. Big brother is already here without the need Black Boxes fitting.
  15. I renewed my Instavolt App / RFID so that is can get the 54 pence a kWh 8pm - 7am if i need to Rapid Charge the MG5 before going away from home and i have not time to charge as much as needed Offpeak or Day tariff @ home on the 3 pin cable. The Angus Council chargers are 50 kW max and 60 pence a kWh and i would use if needs must day time.
  16. Kemi Badenoch wants drill baby drill. UK Fuel security by getting out every bit of Oil & Gas from the North Sea. To be sold on global market and none processed in Scotland since Grangemouth refinery has closed. Somehow she thinks the Decomissioning planned for rigs will be put on hold. The demaning already underway stopped. Maybe She or the C&U Party are looking at extra funding from those OIL & GAS Corporations from the USA that have the UK,s best interests at heart. She wants the TRANSITION to renewables put on the back boiler. To be restarted when they know it is too late and the UK,s lights are going out. @lol-lol There are those in Scotland against Pylons, but that is because really they are there to export the electricity. Some how the crazies in England are against the new pylons. Cut them off then. Charge treble tariffs where there are hold ups in improving the National Grid for their area.
  17. If Skoda get it right with the Epiq & the medium sized EV estate that will be great. (The Eventulaq Estate.) They just need more Dealerships with Trained EV technicians. Maybe they could have a School Leaver Apprentiship scheme where Tech Savvy teenagers have to leave their Smart Phone in their locker and learn mechanics and Software . Put in a fair days training and work for a fair wage. Full training on the new Tech maybe from a Journeyman that is also fully trained.
  18. @PetrolDave You could not use 91 ron since where is that sold in the UK. EU / UK, WLTP 95 ron Min. World Wide Harmonised Testing. The Rest of the world never all went for the kidology.
  19. Or even Tesco Momentum 99, the octane, the detergent and E5 just the same. ?? 'Smoke test' ? Where there logged Fault codes at any time when the car checked for codes? So has the 1.5 TSI ACT had the spark plugs changed @ 40,000 & 80,000 miles? Any history of the Cam Belt being replaced before the changed advice in 2023 & it no longer being at 5 years / 50,000 miles. Maybe time coming up when it needs checked, or replaced.
  20. Only the desperate..#
  21. Yes it is just DATA. & he can talk as much nonsense as anyone. Because he sees 150 EV,s in a day is no indication if there are 15,000 or 50,000 first registrations in a month and all are now out being driven. There will be Fleets / Hire car companies getting NEW Cars delivered and the Used but nearly new going on sale, to Auction etc. Sitting not selling someplace as New ones are a better deal for Private Buyers... "Now here is the thing." All these NEW Chinese Brands Authorised Dealers are opening New lots / Bits of the Dealership area. So the Stock is coming in. The Demonstrators, the Media / Press cars and Orders. Some to be Leased / Lent out cheap to be seen out on the roads. Bright colour ones often. MOTABILITY with it Hundreds of Thousands of people leasing cars are getting Nil or very low Advance Payments offers on these New Chinese Manufacturers EV,s and ordering them and getting deliveries now. "Now here is another thing." He knows just fine that 'Just get a TESLA is based in Scotland, so why act like at total muppet having to pretend he does not know. 'Lots of models do leave Distribution Centres on 'Hand Over days / slots'. Watching others Youtubes is part of a days work for Youtubers, Self Employed VLOGGERS. Acting daft seems par for the course.
  22. GULF Super Diesel could really perk up some diesels, especially older, and really have them blowing out soot and 'rolling coal'. I considered the extra cost worth it. It became less available as some Gulf filling stations stopped getting it in. My local still did but the one at Aberdeen Airport I would use when heading north and coming home stopped having it. When I was towing with my Shogun the difference using it was very noticeable. In my 11 year newer BMW I felt no difference as a totally different kettle of fish. Can of worms. PS. BMW uses lots of AdBlue. My 2016 Alhambra used very little after 3rd time the tank was filled. It was LITTLE VW Group Cheater. Defeat devices model and it was terrible for the DPF blocked light coming on after it had done 40,000 miles or so. 60 plus mpg easy. Use around town for a week. Not even 25 mpg.
  23. Once you have checked that the mechanic that did your service has the correct quantity of oil in then maybe an adaption is in order if the changes are not right. Experts / Professional opinions do count for something, just as long as they are actually good at the job. Rest of world the cities are obviously not busy.
  24. Interesting stuff @Johngerard . Lets us know how things are once there are a few days / nights of very cold weather and maybe a few consecutive days.
