  1. It does not slip the clutch to keep the revs up. It is a dsg. As to disengaging before stopping, it might be coasting before stopping. some will turn the engine off before stopping, and the 1.5 TSI ACT might well be in 2 cylinder mode as you roll on forward until actually stopped and the brake pedal pushed. Then Stop / Start if not switched off, Autohold on vehicles with an e-brake.
  2. £280. But i have Ray-Bans that had retail prices at half that but were bought during sales. Worth every penny IMO. The glasses / frames of just Ray-bans are not. Really very handy but so far i have not found how to put the pictures across to e-mails but to WhatsApp, Facebook and that kind of socials is easy but not what i want to do. A 'Twisted' 90 taken using the specs. "Hey Meta" take a picture. or "Hey Meta video. 20240427_094944_94df4af4.mp4
  3. Did you actually have a Stamped up book, and did you have the car from new, or was it stamped up from the time of the PDI as it was 2013 or so the last ones were put in the UK Skoda. The invoices and receipts for your servicing from now on will be a nice record for any future owner.
  4. Yes, sorry Average life expectancy men and women. My BIL,s granny was the oldest lady in Scotland at 113. I had Long lived Aunties on my dads side. Among my Mum & Dads friends nearly all the men all died in their 70,s & the women lived on another 20 years or more, a few are alive but not to my mums age.
  5. Re. Life Expectancy & the long lived and new expected to keep working longer guff. Maybe those born in the 1950,s can remember this thread if they reach 100 years old. Maybe the youngsters here born around the time of the Millennium might be around to wish them many happy returns. My Mum is 99, my Aunties were long lived and so were a few of my Uncles, but they were from the North East of Scotland and had war time diets but Scottish Wartime in the northeast where there was plenty. My mum moved there from Edinburgh when in her early 20,s. He brothers and uncles, cousins etc dies young, but then they worked in the mines or on the railways. My Grandad died on his way home from his last day at work after handing back his lorry. Dies at Powderhall at the greyhound racing. Issue for those born after the war by a couple of decades has been sugar, and processed food, and there were all the chimneys for factories and much else. Leaded Petrol and Diesel and what else happened in the UK a world of plenty. Lets those that are alive by 2050 decide if the scientist were correct on the life expectancy. My Granny & Granddad had 13 children and only 1 died young as 12 year old with a carbuncle then the infection. Here they are with their children, partners and their children. 1953. Grandad back Left with glasses. Carter /Haulier, Coalman, as my uncles were when young. My Mum and Dad married at the end of the war.
  6. Carry on and stay calm then. We all die of something. Some more painfully than others. Remember that if you ever end up needing oxygen delivered to your home. Maybe these days in an Electric Van. Lots of the high reading streets in Scotland are where bus stations / depots are and bus stop areas and taxi ranks. High Buildings around, or low ground and in the built up / busy areas, not on the edge of town. Not rocket science. We can forget the Paper Mill as that closed. The Carbon Capture Scheme ans Peterhead is long discussed and much money spent holding competitions to have whatever where ever. Grangemouth / Ineos will be changing, partially closing, and others are likely to go the same way. 2016.
  7. Smoking, over eating, drinking too much alcohol should possibly be on more death certificates. Vaping might be appearing more often. Are people saying that the Sugar tax is wrong, and are they saying that there is no need to reduce pollution in the UK? From Aircraft, Power Stations & Vehicles or from other sources that it can be reduced from.
  8. &. That will still be too much pollution. I do wish people would sniff their tail pipes more often. Actually lay down at the tail of the car and have a rest as the Diesels do a regen when a car is sitting idling fast. I am not suggesting 'sewage' side. The dirty way out. But why are the exhaust systems leaking into the car an issue, and why is it not sensible to run a vaccum cleaner pipe from the exhaust into the cabin of the vehicle?
  9. What a load of b0ll0cks on BEV brakes. Some quality brakes might be lasting longer, front discs and rear drums, rear wheel drive or all wheel drive. But then there are all BEV, from Stellantis when there is cars are built on the same platform as the ICE cars and have they same brake parts, pads & discs that rust and need replacing not from doing miles, but not getting used much with the brake pedal and the e-brake not really usable to clean them off. The pads are getting some wear and there is lots rust dust. My Vauxhall Corsa Electric got the 3rd set of discs fitted before going to a new owners after it's 1st MOT. Just the same crap as fitted to ICE cars. As they were when OEM tyres were changed a week after i got the car, and then like ****e beforethe first winter was over,
  10. 180,000 miles. Cam Belt Guidance change (1).pdf
  11. I got a pair and thought i had made an error and my Smart Mobile did not support them even though i had the app and they paired and Bluetooth Connected. I actually called to arrange returning them and then the charger case must have had enough charge, the glasses as well and things started happening and an update went to the glasses and my phone when i connected to wi-fi. They are quite amazing. Hands free and voice activated. Just ask Meta to take a picture, start videoing, live stream, make a call, it reads txts to you, & turn on music as requested, answers questions via Ai lol. I am going to have to be vary careful what i say or ask when they are out of the case and turned on. I am stone deaf in my left ear yet i hear perfectly what comes from the speakers in the arm of the glasses.
  12. @sam8520? Did you get the car at a good price. If you like it, or if it was me and i liked it i would want it repaired, new parts, the tyres match as a pair so 2 new not one.
  13. I always copy in the Motor Group,s Directors in Emails, or send a copy by mail. & Anyone on their Website. Finance Director etc. I get the Company Directors names for the Company. Usually not that hard to find contact details. If it is these, then let them know. Sometimes they need reminded to check who they employ, and asked would they drive what is sold in their name. (When he was alive i asked Sir Arnold Clark if after all his years in the motor trade and doing charitable work was it right his company was selling heaps to young people that he would not expect his nearest and dearest to drive or be a passenger in. Silence came the reply from him, but the Dealership manager was quick in paying up and collecting the death trap.)
  14. Make all communications in writing because really their word is not worth the paper / or screen time not written on. The Dealership knows exactly who purchases and takes in trade ins and inspects initially. Also how much they spend on car prep and then have that set against purchase price, sale price. You pay tax on profits. It is amazing how much the Prep can be charged for and done by 'Mr Magoo'. That is for oldies...
  15. They must of cleared out the dead woods then and the Resolution manager. Lets call her 'Tommy'. (Possibly Deaf dumb and blind & with a short memory. Knowledge of cars and faults must have been deleted at the end of each shift.)
  16. If you get to Skoda / VW UK and to an Executive Team member they are still not interested. First you are dealing with these....
  17. Incompetence from the employee that is trusted to do pre sales safety checks at the very minimum. ? What is the Dealer Principal at the place you bought it saying about this? It says a lot about their master tech & the workshop manager.
  18. There are other vids of conversions in other sections but i will put this here. (In one place for various conversion to maybe assist @J.R. and others.)
  19. @marineboy Not the OP,s car though. So the owners had them accept the T&C,s. As to Brake Fluid and feeling as good as when new. Yes that might well be true when the brakes are not used hard, maybe on hill roads with spirited driving maybe not on Alpine Passes in High Summer. (That refers to something VW puts in advice on Oil usage). Many might not notice any brake fade or overheating of brakes / brake fluid and poorer brake performance, UK max speed limit on Single Carriageways being 60 mph. What can happen is the XDS /XDS + might inhibit / disable it,s self, just as it can with track use.
  20. The Parking / e-Brake can be off, and a car not in P if it has a DSG. Otherwise they could never be rolled forward or back, and servicing and maintenance would be difficult.
  21. @Darren87Welcome. What engine has the car and how many miles has it done?
  22. England / Westminster keeps blocking things though as they are not sure that Scotland will not benefit and England not. The Wind Farm that is not going ahead with planning or SSE bidding for it for another year could have produced electricity for 4 million homes. Double what there are in Scotland. There is already 113% of Scotland's needs being produced. Deeside against Huge Pylons were out doing a convoy in tractors as a protest. The South can not expecting Scotland to house the Nuclear Deterrent that England will not have in their waters, and have the onshore wind they did not want, and have the pylons that might spoil views. Even those not for Independence know when the pith is been taken.
