Octavia vrs iv brake disks edge corrosion
Skoda had nothing to do with it, it was the Dealership staff. That is up-selling. Amazed they never said 80% worn. The cars they have for sale will likely be the same and they are not fitting new discs and pads before the new owners gets it.

Oil and Service inspection due....
It was not normal though or i would not have bothered taking a picture or commenting, the Long Oil change by miles really had the oil like ****e from about 16,000 on from new. It was really shot. But the next oil change had just the usual black oil you get pretty soon with TDI,s. I would not have left any car of mine like that but Motability owned it, the servicing is on Variable and they would not approve an early Oil & Filter change ans i was not doing it. As it was it was only sipping Adblue by this time and the brakes were gubbed within 6 months of the car being new.

@Davidoff1234If you did nothing else then sounds like. Was it you that changed the wheels, jacked the car up, tightened them etc.

Software trouble after new keys on 2014 1.4 TSI RAPID
Welcome. What kind of professional shop? Is that 1 in 1,000 of their work? that sounds pure BS.

Abs eps tpm after changing wheels.
The car as it left the factory never had a TPMS with sensors in the wheels. That does not mean that someone did not mod the car and what was on the car were wheels with Sensors and the car has the Indirect TPMS now rater than the Direct. Changing the Total diameter / circumference does not mean that Warnings / Faults need show.

Abs eps tpm after changing wheels.
A Total diameter / circumference change would make no difference you just reset the TPMS.

Massive shortage of Hi-Voltage dealerships.
Just imagine what it is like for those not near London with a choice of places within 33 miles, like on a Northern or Western island or just rural areas where they think electrified cars are an economic means of transport.

Oil and Service inspection due....
That is all it is, Notice of a Service / Oil change being due, Fixed or Variable. But like this lease / motability car i was given the warning at around 18,500 miles and they could not service it for a month and by then it was over 20,000 miles and even though it had oil top ups the oil was like (black) clotted cream by that time.

the truth about electric cars
You do not need to search. You just needed to watch one i linked or others did. Oliver Dowden and Iain Duncan Smith and David Camerons former friends know what you are doing. (I am glad the Chinese are watching them, someone needs to.)

Superb Est 2018 DSG gearbox noise
@mickymouse Assuming would be a mistake. A FULL SERVICE HISTORY should show the HISTORY of SERVICING. So you will see what is done. But a Full Service History does not mean that at a DEALERSHIP everything was done to the Schedule, Recommendations, Guidelines etc, Extras needs paid for over and above the Oil & Inspection Service & the EXtended Scope.

Oil and Service inspection due....
Welcome. You will need to go over then if you can not get the oil changed. Maybe do not go too long. How long can affect an Extended Warranty if you have one. If it was reset correctly last time the oil was changed. ? When was it last Serviced / Oil change done? Oil Services are either Fixed or Variable. 12 months / 372 days, or 24 months / 18,000 -20,000 miles, so when was your last done? Reset. As to 'Inspection' there is no just an 'Inspection' that can be set the same as Service' so Fixed or Variable.

Superb Est 2018 DSG gearbox noise
The correct interval for a DQ381 according to VW / Skoda is an oil change at 80,000 miles. Plenty reported as having issues long before that mileage. PS Haldex Oil changes are at 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner. & that should be proper servicing not just the oil changed.

Superb iV vs 2.0TSi pros and cons
It likely does not go into 2 cylinder mode going over speed bumps, but it possibly does as you slow approaching them.

the truth about electric cars
@Winston_Woof I grew up in houses with White Meter and storage heaters and know all about 'off peak' / 'Economy'. You know when the hours are to have on the oven, washing, heating, charging the vehicle. It will be just an extension of that but with any control of that no longer in your hands. But really until they get a grip of Smart Meter reliability they are stuffed. As for China and Cyber Security that is just a laugh.

the truth about electric cars
Re Smart Meters. As we know it is about control from energy companies, cutting energy at time and different pricing at different hours of the day / night Today has been the day that there is a headline on BBC. 'Energy prices could vary at different times of day' This if OFGEM 'the watchdog'. The Regulator. The cozy cozy set-up with too much say from some strange people who maybe to not have the customers first and foremost in their importance. 'Energy prices could be capped based on the time of day that households use their appliances'. The watchdog said it has launched early discussions about a 'dynamic' price cap that changes as consumers become more flexible. Fine be sure to charge those that use excessive amounts of energy compared to how many the Council Tax shows resides in a property higher unit prices beyond the average.

Thinking of buying - which diesel engine?
Welcome. If you are buying a Euro 5 1.6 TDI CR then look at if it has had the Defet Device / VW Cheating recall action carried out, the Air flow device fitted and the software / engine management re-cheat. I would not want one of those . But then maybe the owner had that rolled back and a remap since. Think about the mileage and the DPF with one of those TDI.s. Do not get landed with what was someone else's nightmare.

Cam Belt Change on WaterPump Replacement
Personally at that mileage i would be getting the Cambelt & Tensioner replaced. Regardless of VW / Skoda changing the UK non-dust country last July from the ridiculous 5 years / 50,000 miles they had it at. For me 120,000 miles is about right. But then i drive like a loony and do double kickdowns etc.
-
Cam Belt Change on WaterPump Replacement
Well. When the Cambelt is replaced on a TSI the Water Pump usually does not need replacing. Was the Water Pump replaced because faulty? PS A TDI is a different Kettle of fish. (Steamer.)

Kamiq Hill Hold ?
? Can someone please tell me what difference you have with Hillhold Assist with a manual gearbox and a manual hand brake? Is the 'Anti-stall' not enough and driving as normal with a manual box?

Superb iV vs 2.0TSi pros and cons
There is a difference though from a 1.4 TSI PHEV and DSG, 6 speed and a 1.5 TSI ACT 7 speed dsg when it comes to 1st to 2nd. You can always with a DQ200 DSG go to S if you are going to be down to 1st gear and crawling or going over speed bumps then the DSG does not change up or try to until a higher RPM. Same if crawling along in traffic to stop it going up and down 1st to 2nd. The other thing is a 1.5 TSI ACT running down to a slow speed might well be in 2 cylinder mode and as it gets some accelerator is back into 4 cylinder mode.

2.0 TSI vs 2.0 TDI
Original poster / Keep it simple stupid No idea where you are hearing 5,000 mile oil changes are recommended with Euro 6 TSI,s. Is it posts on here? TSI or TDI can be on Variable / Flexible Oil & Filter changes of 18,000-20,000 miles but some will still maybe do Fixed oil and filter changes Fixed at 9,400 (10,000) miles, or Annual 15,000 miles is perfectly fine. You seem to be inclined towards a TDI and there really is no reason why you should not drive one. Just be aware that it might not be more economical over the petrol as the miles go on and maintenance is required.

the truth about electric cars
Filing stations are well established and the Treasury must love them. The Fuel being delivered and as it gets delivered has the filling station pay for the fuel and they pay the Duty & VAT and then sell the fuel to customers. We buy it and have it in our vehicles, sitting maybe un-used. We all pay towards the Oil & Gas exploration, the getting and processing the fuels and the decommissioning of the Oil Rigs, and infrastructure. We pay through the nose for everything. Even those without vehicles. With the Electricity the public pay for the National Grid, even pay for the companies to build the Electricity Generation, pay to not generate electricity. Then we buy electricity if we need it, and even when not using it it costs to be maybe able to have it. End users. There are those that want nothing to do with cars o public transport and still they pay because there is pollution. But they likely buy goods and services and they need transported.

the truth about electric cars
SMART Meters need sorted out in the UK. Eon Next had some Partner call me yesterday again about my New Smart meter. The one never fitted yet thankfully. Eon Next credited me another £75 on Friday. Warm Home Discount Scheme. I already had £150. They must have had money left over when the Scheme closed. Last year an extra £100 appeared at this time. No explanation.
