E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
It will be nice when they pay back your over payments then or they make the adjustment to your code so you only pay correct amount and they over payment is refunded.

E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
@TheWanderer Getting off 'Emergency Tax' PDQ would be simply clever. Do you not have Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Costco or others supermarket fuels to get the E10 95 ron at cheaper to then add the Octane Booster to? I see.

E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
@TheWanderer Wonderful. Magic juice. Why not just buy the higher octane fuel? Can you buy the Additive and get the higher Octane for less than Greenergy can when producing the E5 99 ron minimum petrol? Looks as though it is taking 95 octane minimum to 97 ron minimum so the same as Sainsbury,s Super Unleaded 97 octane.

E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
Yes it can use either. For the WLTP that is done on 95 ron. 95 ron can be E5 or E10 and it is not supposed to affect the economy. (but then the Government lies.) Yes the 1.4 TSI can make the use or benefit from a higher octane over the MINIMUM octane they show for Europe / EU.

Car sometimes juddering when accelerating?
Has the Air Filter been looked at in the 87,000 miles? Has the DQ381 DSG had it,s service @ 80,000 miles (130,000 km) or sooner, and was the filter changed as well. ? It is not a characteristic & should not happen.

Car sometimes juddering when accelerating?
Do not give it a shot of anything or add additives. ? Which country are you in and how many miles / km has the car done.

E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
You are buying the Octane, you are getting the Ron, and the minimum ron. 95 ron min, or 97 min or 99 minimum. You are guaranteed what the minimum energy is per litre. Same as with Winter Spec petrol or Diesel. & Formulated for the volatility @ temperatures & It is not diluted in strength / energy by a changed formulation to stop it being as hygroscopic. Storage of the fuels and the ingredients of the fuel being important. The Up to 10% in E10 & the Up to 5% in E5 in the UK is just that. The Ethanol producers have not got the assistance they should have from the UK government and ethanol is not cheap so there are fuels with nothing near the Up to % they could have. Then as far as producing Bio. A Company has just put 75 employees out of a job. The issue is Brexit and competition from the EU and rules and legislation as far as i see the reasons they are given for them not making the profits required. http://bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c28044mj7nvo 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1).pdf 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1).pdf

ESSO Super unleaded is distributed by Greenergy in Scotland which produces Tesco Momentum 99 & are part owned by Tesco. But the e5 is more expensive than the e10 but can be cheaper than others e5 at some filling stations. The Gulf Super Unleaded is fine but same story, cost. Check Petrol Prices.com I used to get Super Unleaded at the Esso beside Hillend or Gulf at Liberton Brae but only when i was not using Tesco Momentum 99.- E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
Depends what you fill up with now and the price you pay. If no more expensive then no harm. But it will be with your Shell card because Shell v-power + is a silly cost. petrol.pdf- E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
Plenty have tried it and there are dozens of threads. Even if no better MPG with the E5 over the E10 the engine might feel smother on the higher octane. Tesco Momentum 99 or Sainsburys Super Unleaded 97 ron min might be a couple of quid a tank more than their 95 unleaded but no more than others E10 95. Why not just try it and report back?- So Scala owners, what do you think to your car ?
@Yetiherts Was it recently you were told about the cam belt & 5 years / 50,000 miles? Do not believe everything you hear about EV insurance. Try a quote yourself on an EV, they can cost the same or less on ICE vehicles of the same value and a lot less power. Skoda / VW advice on the cam belt changed. Up to you what you think or do. Cam Belt Guidance change.pdf- Another high oil consumption Octavia!
In this case of Euro 5 1.8 & 2.0 TSI,s it was more than just silly people. It was silly VW Group engineers. Very much a known issue even while cars were well within the manufacturers warranty period. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/266114-18tsi-and-20tsi-engine-failures/page/76- Another high oil consumption Octavia!
Same thing then. Pinned thread on 1.8 TSI & 2.0 TSI and the engine issues, top of Octavia Mk2 section.- Another high oil consumption Octavia!
Welcome. You have not said what engine the car has. Is it a TDI. You posted in the Fabia Section. If it is a 2.0 TSI Octavia look at the pinned thread at the top of the section. You will see why they might say a 'Known issue'. If they mean in General then they knew before the Warranty was bought. If they mean your particular car, same thing.- Coil failure
A new Spark Plug and Coil matching the 2 fitted. The Spark Plugs should last well past 4 years, even past 40,000 miles. But Skoda started 1.0 TSI,s with a GPF in 2018 and there have been cars with premature plug failures. Just because a car is low miles that is no indication of how many times it is fired up to do short trips or longer trips, or Stop / Start is active etc. Skoda / VW Group Official Repairers will know how plugs are looking at at 4 years if they are changing them. Too often the Service Staff say 'Special plugs' good for 65,000 miles. Because on the job trained by a muppet. They might have a NVQ is keyboard or reception services. Or not even that. ................... This was a bit of an odd one. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509386-three-cylinder-engine-overheating-causing-valve-failure- the truth about electric cars
Wonderful but the price is an issue. Fleets of UP!MiiCitigo electrics as EV,s available at UK Park & Rides / Low Carbon Transport Hubs for taking into City Limits would be enough vehicle for couples or even 2 couples. Just do not buy anything as no space for it, but Roof Top Boxes might do that job.- Not a sight I expected to see....
Clicks mean prizes. So he might as well get some. There are RAC UK recovery / battery top up vids. Better ones though from New Zealand with the AA.- Not a sight I expected to see....
It is quite common with BEV,s. It is why the Fleet of RAC & AA vehicles that can put some charge into them is growing. The vehicles i see with responders are usually locked in at chargers or have been charging and shut down and unable to be moved. Then there are those locked out. Usually it is just AA or RAC attending and after trying to start the cars or trying plugging in and doing a reset then calling for a recovery vehicle. eg All day before being recovered by someone not prepared for a BEV and without any idea which were the drive wheels and all 4 wheels were locked / braked. Weeks to get fixed. * The Recall was out for quite a while without Keepers being told of the Recall and even though the car was recovered because locked in gear and non start the car was returned without the RECALL ACTION having been carried out.*- the truth about electric cars
- Coil failure
@jam1 did you pay for only 2 new spark plugs in a 3 cylinder car? Was that the RAC operative that went and got them and 2 new coils. The spark plugs should all have been changed at the Service when done at 4 years. If not changed they have not been looked at. No point the tech saying. Too low a mileage. Do you have the plugs removed to take a picture of? How much has 2 plugs and 2 coils cost you?- Advisory - brake discs worn
@nta16 The fronts are, but then they were only on a matter of weeks. As to the rears, you should not go to Spec Savers, get a proper optician. 3 sets in 3 years, and the car will have got a 4th set before the new owner got the car. They were the worst i have had in decades, the only ones near as bad have been on Fabias. PS My Picanto automatic only did 26,000 in 7 years and on the original discs. There was an advisory at 3 years old that they were pitted. @17,429 miles. - 85 to replace 80?
