  1. Just pay the bit extra for the lower viscosity Dot 4 ESP. It is there for cars with ESP, and for lower temperature places, so that is hardly relevant here.
  2. Hold the steering wheel then! Torque steer takes you one way or another, or it is not torque steer. Are you in a right hand drive car on left lane roads? Take care then because it is not taking you with the camber into the kerb / verge. What happens on a totally flat car park when you boot it and get torque steer, does it still go off to the right.

Best go to someplace that knows what they are doing and that charges a fair hourly rate.

? When did it last work and when was it last properly serviced, oil changed and filter / pump clean up? Possibly the corrosion of the electrics which is covered on here quite a bit.
  5. If you had got a petrol with a turbo it might of had a bit more like the go the diesel with the turbo had, not likely you would have got the economy you are getting with the MPI though.
  6. @nta16 The OP @Nix2is in Poland. @Nix2 Your coolant shows an indication of heating up quick to an indicated 90*oC, the engine / engine oil is not at operating temperature that quick though. Is the high RPM you see there always even after 10 km of driving, and no matter you much further you drive and totally at an efficient temp?
  7. I just wish that lots of the drivers of these big fat EV lumps could even do the speed limit on lovely driving roads and stay on their own side of the white line and let others get passed them if they can not. They are not going fast, just apparently holding up those that want to just get on & could as the road is safe to do the limit which is likely 60 mph. Maybe they are more bothered watching the efficiency / range they can get. It is not often you see the drivers of EV,s even getting away from junctions or roundabouts that quick. Maybe more bothered about the tyres and grip, or is it the cost of replacing them. Plenty damn fast motorbikes out and about and maybe even ridden by those that might have fast cars, even EV,s. Maybe they drive better than they can ride.
  8. @Brian15 That was maybe long enough to leave them. Have you been checking the Air Filter to see that it is nice and clean and dry? ...................... All just a generalisation really and it is about how used and where. Cambelt schedule not this, and DQ200 or DQ381 DSG,s are not at 40,000 miles.
  9. @Brian15 Off topic, but a servicing matter. Did the spark plugs get changed at about 40,000 miles, or anytime and did they look OK, and was the gap checked of the ones removed?
  10. 6,500 miles done now in the MINI. On my own i get pretty much 3.3-3.5 miles to a kWh and with a passenger 3.7 miles. Because i have to behave. This is at temps between freezing and 10*oC. & what i got yesterday. 2 people, 2 folding bikes in the rear, one e-Bike and one a push bike. I will see how it goes on my tod today & this week as the weather get warmer. The bike was good other than a bit of a warp in the rear disc that is squeaking, not just newness, it will need replaced not straightened. The bike climbed OK carrying 115kG but is a bit hard over rough surfaces and terrible on rough tracks. (The last model of this bike had front suspension forks but that would not sort it for me, i need the Brooks sprung saddle on i think, i will see how it goes today.) Seat post /battery removed before folding and lifting in (out) makes a difference as it is heavy.
  11. @Routemaster1461 Lets be clear, that is 1.4 or 1.5 TSI,s ACT,s with a DSG that some have ECO showing and Active Cylinder Technology / Cylinder on Demand. TFSI ACT (Audi) are going into 2 Cylinder, or there can be 'Coasting'. Among the other engines depending on which there is ECO where Coasting is Enabled. Or just 'Coasting' can be selected on a screen and then Coasting enabled. With some with ECO as a Mode people say they never drive in that, and others say they do. This ECO choice is not with ACT,s. It is showing 'Eco' that confuses some, some show 'Coasting' on certain screens, with 'Coasting; the obvious thing is when D7 or D6, D5 etc goes to just D. Touch the brake or accelerator and it is back to D7, D6 or whatever gear it is in.
  12. @Brian15 It would be helpful if you could say with which engine that was on. On this forum the reported cases of a broken cam belt or actually the tensioner with Euro 5 or Euro 6 VW engines have been as far as i have read has been with 1.6 TDI,s and not any TSI,s. On any size, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5 ACT or not ACT, or 2.0 TSI,s.
  13. I thought this one was a Porsche when i spotted it and right up until at it and i could see the badge.
  14. The cash is no use when the Scanners go down as they have in the past. That is why i mention the tills. When Pitlochry was cut off about 14 years ago and power down there was back up for the pumps at 2 filling stations and out came the old Card Readers where you signed a slip. Around my area the Security Vans never filled cash machines as they would not travel. I went the back roads into Dundee a few days in a row as i needed cash to buy a car.
  15. HPI checks are only good when people actually log stuff. An accident that never had an insurance claim made shows nothing if someone just did the repairs. Check with Skoda the record of the car, and a Recall does not show if already done. There were those that punted nearly new 1.5 TSI,s that had DSG issues but were told this was only to do with manuals. It was not only manuals, and the DQ200 DSG issue was a different issue anyway from the kangerooing. How does the Service History look, is it as per Guidelines, Recommendation, Specification / Schedule. was the Spark Plugs replaced at 4 years / 40,000 miles.
  16. @skoda2024 Welcome to the forum. Can you give a clue or just say what Dealership group this was from? The Dealer Principal and the Master Tech and Workshop Manager need to be checking which Tech or Fitter did your PDI and should then be out checking every other car they did PDI,s on o any work on. Not calling customers and cars in but putting their selves out and them being financially affected by their lack of supervision or training of employees.
  17. Well Off Topic, but just this week i posted in the banter with @Graham Butcher issues when tech / communications goes down and McDonalds had issues. Today just Sainsbury's & Tesco. Orders, payments. But as mentioned in the news cash could be used. That is when tills can still operate obviously. As these Major Corporations & the likes of Banks have failings it is just a taster for the future when many more systems might go down more often. If it is ever the Utilities and electricity then it is traffic lights as well as filling stations, payment systems, ATM,s and almost everything that goes down.
  18. @ElwoodP You or the seller needs to check the cars Service & Warranty History. ? Was it part of the Recall for the Engine Management update, and was it a 1.5 TSI ACT with a DSG that also required or got a Software Update? Some did. Or is it just a DQ200 DSG issue? I am assuming it is a FWD 1.5 TSI ACT and not an AWD which has a different DSG. A DQ381.

    @Dlr Is this Mk3 Fabia a 1.4 TDI?
  20. 'Contravening a road traffic sign', & people do get fined £100. One such sign has been wrongly erected near me by the council after neighbours wanted a lane closed. (It is said it was a farm track and not a Through Route & not Adopted and not of a standard to be adopted, well the householders never paid for the roads upkeep, improvements and it was and is a vehicular access from 2 public places & has been in constant use as such for Living Memory, or long lived people.) The signs are in the wrong place and the road is a vehicular right of way and someone has done their research wrong. The Ex Police officer that scowls at me when i cycle that lane thinks that he is smart putting traffic cones out at times blocking the lane. If someone is served a NIP then hopefully they challenge that in court and challenge the council. I was on the back of my pals motor bike in 1976 when the police stopped us at Monifieth Putting & Bowling Green when we were on the road with that sign, he was fined. Years later i was with my pal in his car when stopped again, tough luck for the 'Officer' because my pal was working for the Parks Department and his parking place was in the 'Council Refuse & Park Department yard on that road'. Foundry Road and turn the corner and the other end is Riverside Drive. (Now just a 20 mph speed limit road.) The Officer said we should have come in from the other end and by the shorter route. Riverside Drive end. My mate pointed out that he should take that up with his Superiors and that he would with his.
  21. @wyx087I am going to find out how it is as the car charges and i go exploring at the Helix Falkirk & then at the Falkirk wheel just how it is as it is years since i had a folding bike for taking places in a camper van and it was rubbish. http://thehelix.co.uk I have 4 other e-Bikes of various kinds, Road, Hard Tail, Full Sus and Fatbike and they are great but very heavy when it comes to carrying them and i got rid of my 4x4 so they need to go inside the estate now. This folding e-bike is the best i have tried and it is really just for using at the seaside towns and maybe canal paths. (I have a few push bikes but never ride them any more and gave away a Fat Bike last week to a charity as it had just sat for a few years taking up space.)

Welcome. I will flag your post so a mod can move it to a section where hopefully you get an answer.
