The next generation MINI Cooper Electric 2024 & MINI Aceman 2024/25 pics & Videos.
I received an e-mail inviting me to book a slot next week to go view the new MINI hatch in Aberdeen or the Countryman the next day. I will give that a miss and wait till they have demonstrators at my local showroom and i can drive one, Really not interested in them until i am changing car in 2026 if i do get another then. By that time they might have this NEWEST MINI Electric fully sorted and with a dash in front of the driver and not just a 'heads up display'. Also wipe down plastics in the cockpit / dash. A BRISKODA members vid.

Campaign 23AX
^^^ No they are not. DSG Servicing is not by year. There are the DQ200,s with no Service intervals, then those with 40,000 miles, 6 speed wets usually. (38,000 in an Audi). Then the 80,000 schedule shown with the DQ381. None are by years as some Charts show.

Fuel consumption throughout the day (IV PHEV)
^^^ Absolutely. A Plug in Hybrid. PHEV. It can get power in the battery as it regenerates but it is not a Hybrid (Self Charge Hybrid) Silly term really. The Government reduced Grants on them because of these Tax Effective vehicles for Business users that were never getting charged.

the truth about electric cars
In the video with Richard in the Tesla doing John o' Groats to Land End his first stint of 316 miles done in 5 hours and 25 minutes had him making very good time considering the roads and average speed cameras getting to Perth and then the 23 miles of Average speed cameras Broxden Roundabout Perth to Dunlane. (Keir Roundabout)

Fuel consumption throughout the day (IV PHEV)
It has to fire up the engine and heat up the Cat and there is the GPF. Then the battery needs charging. It is a hybrid after all and not an EV.

the truth about electric cars
@wyx087 The question was to me using the MINI to do 974 miles. So it would not do 120 miles, it would as today need charging before 100 miles. The Corsa electric could do 120 miles,. but would be slower charging on 50 kW chargers even though it had a 100 kW charging. I was not paying to use 100 / 100 + chargers. & i had only 7 kW AC onboard charging. 900 miles would be 18 hours driving and the car would be on a rapid / 50 kW charger for 8 or 9 hours. Too expensive charging North of Inverness to Rapid Charge that amount really. I will do the North Coast 500 in the Mini and in total do 800-900 miles but it will be be at times when chargers are working and in the past that would be out of season and mid week. There is no out of season anymore on the NC500 and there are the plonkers in Taycans to be avoided. They tend to not stay in their side of the road,. @Graham ButcherNo idea what the idiot in the Porsche did to head to their nights stop over and if he went to Edinburgh but if he did then why? They traveled to Scotland while just north & east of where they were going when reaching Perth had a Red Weather Warning, and they were in an Amber & a Yellow and the road works have been well warned in advance if they just bothered to check.

the truth about electric cars
They crossed the Queensferry Crossing. To Edinburgh. Just stupid. Easy, Perth Porsche Broxden then 200 yard Broxden roundabout and go south on A9 past Stirling and then to England as LEE the forgetful or purposely stupid has filmed before. Passing chargers right next to the A9.

the truth about electric cars
I am not daft I will take the BMW 520 diesel estate. I got 60 mpg yesterday and on return trip son driving it was 45 mph. Same average speed trip.. difference being I do not touch the brakes, go faster quicker and coast. Yes his Porsche takes charging time and costs lots if paying high public charge costs, but it you want a 80 kWh battery and get 3.5 miles per kWh then that is rather different form an under 30 kWh battery like I have. But I don't eat and drink every time I charge or even need the loo. MINI had 50 kW max charging and the Taycan 270 (350) kW when you get to that type of charger. 150 kW charger does fine.

the truth about electric cars
It is doing it as a part time job. He has been up and down past Perth umpteen times in 2 years with that car. @Graham ButcherHe has said he uses Waze. He has a built in system in the Porsche, he could use ZapMap or Plugshare. But he messes up everything because he has a very quick charge car and never seems to get quick charges. I met a lady in a Jag EV today, into Scotland from Leeds, said how expensive Gretna Green was, was using a charge place scotland charger running dead slow, had not had a Charge Place Scotland app, had to download, thought she could tap and pay. I helped with Tesla non Tesla for Aviemore, told her when to charge in Perth if she wanted and where to in Inverness, she was away to drive into epic weather. They have suspended the Road / Gas pipe work on the A9 because of 2 hour delays. Enchanted Forest etc Pitlochry. PS Why were they crossing the Forth on a John O Groat / Landsend, just for further delays? PPS I was not quick today. 85 miles then a 39 Minute charge, 90 miles and a 42 minute charge. 50 miles and 30 minutes charge and now @100%. Cost, home charge, so 30 x 21 pence. £6.30. & 1 x 39 minutes £7.20. Next 2 were free. Next charge will be free in 90 miles, then i will need 25 kWh @ 55 pence so £13.75. Then likely home to charge to full again.

the truth about electric cars
He is full of guff! Perth, he had Ionity, or near BP Rapids, or Porsche or next to that EVYVE. 1/4 mile up no use to him a Tesla Supercharger. (Broxden Park & Ride.) WTF is he looking at a Charge Place Scotland App for Down South of the Scottish borders as they are even crap for locations in Scotland?
-
the truth about electric cars
Taycan man has the usual excuse of holdups because of waiting for a charge at Ionity chargers yet there are alternative 100 + chargers in the near vicinity of them as an option. Sitting about as often as he makes out he has no lack of time to check out what there is around and about. As to the Porsche chargers charging costs, that is as it is then if you are paying full whack. PS D!ck head in the Solid Blue Taycan reg DJ ** on the A9 in the the torrential rain in the 70 mph limit Average Speed cameras had no need to go passed in the outside lane at over 75 mph and then stick in the outside lane going slower than 70 mph as the rest of us wanted up the road. The brake light coming on when going through the water was maybe the car deciding it was lacking grip or the driver thinking bl00dy hell this water is deep. At least they turned off at the junction for Gleaneagles having been leader of the pack for about 10 miles.

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
The cars performing perfectly. Just done 85 miles heading south and west through the ,yellow weather warning ⚠️ area. Torrential and around 5 degrees C. Heating at 20 in the car. 2 hours driving. Car rock steady, All season tyres great through flooded roads and overtaking HGV,s etc in outside lane. Arrived with 20 % battery showing and 3.5 mile kW/h averaged. Need to go to 99% charge as have 90 miles until on next planned rapid charger. Should be less cold and maybe wet but going on motorway. PS edit. 90 miles later 1 hour 27 mins and 21% left. Straight on the 50 kW rapid getting 52 kW. Larry. 30 miles was unbelievably heavy rain. I am still learning stuff. I had to as something happened and many settings reset someplace. Likely in the same place as the Corsa Electric would lock me out or get over the air updates and reset stuff. Finding out how to stop the passenger mirror dipping in reverse was very important as it was a PITA going into charging bays.. The Miniac Channel more help than anything from MINI.

Campaign 23AX
This gets confusing when someone says they have a 7 speed DSG and that is a DQ200 so a Twin Dry Clutch DSG . The 7 speed wet clutch DSG,s might well be DQ381,s @GeorgepapIs posting about a 1.2 TDI Fabia from 2013 and has a thread in the Mk2 Fabia section on that and The Fix, or what ever software update was carried out. **A Euro 5 emissions engine.*

the truth about electric cars
I drive a bit nippy, but did that tosher have any view up the arse of that bus to go for that overtake? I hold back and peek out and indicate and boot it if i am pretty sure i will not meet a muppet like me doing the same coming the other way. Does that Taycan have Lane Keep assist so with the use of the indicator that might have done the move just fine? What speed limit was it his or the busses they were going at?

Best Winter Tyres
Lost in translation now. British English, US English and other languages translated to English or any language. All season tyres as standard on cars / SUV lights / cross overs, even AWD or 4x,4,s. Not all weather but for all weathers you might meet. All terrains but not All Terrain tyres, for using in dry, wet, snow ice but just TYRES. Not Snow Tyre, or ICE tyres. But mostly people speaking British English know WTF they want or got.
-
Best Winter Tyres
@J.R.they do at VW group fit tyres that can be used all year round and when the cars arrive in the UK they might stay using the same type of tyres. But for some they will be no use for their use all year. Also in the EU or just continental Europe there are areas /;countries where the tyres need replaced by law for conditions, weather, regions. They are All season tyres fitted. Just not like All Season as the term is now used. Suitable for winter type conditions.

No oil pressure shown via OBD socket ?
@CrucianYour Mk2 vRS 1.4 TSI Twincharger might well show the Red Oil can light and the Low Oil pressure light, and maybe even before the Yellow Low oil can light or message shows. The OIl level might be 1.3 litres low and no low oil light but just 1 litre low on oil from the correct quantity and cornering and you might get the Low Oil Pressure warning.

the truth about electric cars
My 2023 MINI Cooper S Electric charged to 100% ready for a long trip over the next few days is showing only 76 miles range. But then it has been running the last few days with AC, Rear and Front screen demisting and heated on and only doing 2 miles each time start to stop. Hopefully i do get 90 miles between charges & maybe 100 miles plus available if using less functions and still being comfortable. As it is i am OK for chargers ever 75 miles on the routes i am going. Since its gone Mini, here is my favourite vid with a Yank and a Scottish person.

Gemini Alloy Wheels problem
@HappySamWhich insurance companies consider changing the colour of the wheels the car came from the factory with as a modification to declare?
-
Gemini Alloy Wheels problem
You can have them professionally refurbished to the Original colour. I assume this was a used car you bought since the wheels were refurbed by KERB SIDE autos for some dealer / trader. The finance company do not even know the original colour or the state of the wheels on the car they financed. If you want the car nice while you have it then get the wheels done properly and return the car with better wheels than it came to you. Just do not get some outrages colour on them.

No fluid in hybrid coolant header tank
@liam_vrsivIf the dealership are not getting or providing the courtesy car since they might say they have not got any then Skoda UK / Skoda Assist can get a hire car delivered to you. Do not let them take the Micheal. Read your Warranty T&C,s. Their management and even family members are driving about in Demonstrators putting 3,000 miles on them ready to see as Ex Management cars and the Tax Payers via HMRC are assisting in them doing this.
