  1. Yesterday and today i did 48 miles each day, just short runs, heated seat on low, AC, rear screen demister, wipers, 18*oC heating and below 10*oC outside. 3 miles a kWh, Charging at home at 21 pence a kWh on 3 pin cable. 16 kWh or electric charged for each 48 miles. @ 100% now. *28.9 kWh usable battery is showing just 90 miles range.* £3.30 each day, so 96 miles for £6.60. That is fine. I will see what i get next week and after as it gets colder. I also have a few days of longer trips to do with free charging & 35 pence & 55 pence public charging to do.
  2. If it is 40*oC ambient temp and you want the cars interior down to 20*oC or lower that does use energy, it has to and different from maybe 26*oC ambient and wanting the interior at 18*oc. Anyhow it is not just about cooling when you might use the AC, and when AC is available and not inhibited when it is near freezing or below. 4*oC with some cars and 2*oC with others and the AC is off.
  3. Keeping it not steaming / misting up will need the systems very much working for the next few days in Edinburgh and through the winter. It will have minimal affect on economy, and you can pre heat the cars interior & de-ice the glass while plugged into the mains before setting off when the weather turns cold.
  4. & it is fair to expect them to send out their Master Tech to check the car & reset the Service Indicator and be sure the car is not in Transit mode. Or they can just cover your cost / expense of visiting the Dealership. They know their hourly rate. Good for the Goose is good for the gander, they might prefer a Gesture and the First 'Oil & Inspection service' being free to you.
  5. Fixed Oil & Filter services with the 1.4 TSI PHEV so 9,400 miles / 372 days it should have been set at the PDI. Ask if the PDI was lax what about the transport blocks and they are sure they are removed. Check the tyre pressures, see if set safe and not over inflated. Set to your use, and rest the TPMS. Set that even if you do not adjust them/ Check where the coolant is. Check the Oil level cold, unstarted engine and as you should, @ operating tempaerature, so near 90*oC indicated, parked on the flat and a few minutes after switching off. PS Have them put the Oil Service & Service inspection at the same period. 1 year.
  6. No, nor Hermiston or Ingilston Park and rides. http://zap-map.com/live http://chargeplacescotland.org/charge-point-tariffs
  7. New tyres, new car. Have you checked the tyre pressures the car was handed over with and set them to your needs?
  8. Driving in Low Emission zones with the cars that are only low emissions because of Kidology then maybe use the EV mode in them. Like when they come in in Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen like it is now in Glasgow. PS There are some 7 kW chargers in Scotland under 25 pence a kWh and also free ones, Charge Place Scotland. / Park & Rides and others. Not Edinburgh City though which has ridiculous tariffs. People do sit hours charging @ 7 or 11 kW with EV,s but when there are limited numbers people get peed off at a Hybrid sitting all day or night taking 3.6 kW.
  9. 17" Gigaro from a vRS are still advertised @ £280. Silver though but not much involved in a Colour change. 'Black Gigaro' are different from Trinity on a Monte Carlo. The Gigaro have alloy (Diamond cut) edges and different paint / colour, metallic. So painting will not have the alloy edge, not a bad thing IMO.
  10. They sell online, they charge postage.
  11. 1st October the unit price of electricity dropped from 33 pence, which is why a gave the figure of 27 pence. 25-30 miles for under £3 if running in EV mode is OK really. 153 pence a litre unleaded , £6.95 a gallon.
  12. Yes, If your standard tariff for electricity is 27 pence a kWh then 27 pence each kWh. So if you get 11 kWh of a charge that is £2.97 If you were to get a Off peak night time tariff of 9 pence a kWh and get 5 kWh charged in the off peak time then 45 pence.
  13. Barstewards, Really PDI just being done today, or someone notices the computer. I would not have 3rd party fitting anything until you know the car is of merchantable quality. I hope the Dealer Principal is dropping the top of the range demonstrator they use off with you until next week.
  14. The MINI is doing wonderful on water logged roads and torrential rain. I just need to remember not to open the windows until all the water is off the roof, so just a bit of acceleration clears that. My young lads BMW i am looking after just got new discs fitted and i took it out for a wee run and really i will stick in this weather to the Mini with the 205 wide tyres suited to the wet and front wheel drive rather than the hearse.
  15. Europe / EU-UK was excluded by VW Group until they had to do the Service Campaign starting 2014. If they did not do them in all countries then so be it. Not all DQ200,s required the 'Workshop Actions' or Recall Action, bit later on it was found that there 'Voluntary Recalls' missed DQ200,s that were affected. ? Which country are you in @Okedokey, I am in the UK but that does not limit my knowledge to what went on here. Actually most came out on the next issues, 2013 on from Russia. PS I have no interest in what Australia & New Zealand got, but what that had was an Authority / Courts that could Tear VW a new hole. so VW got their arse in action. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/439395-the-story-of-the-famous-dq200-clutch-slip/page/11
  16. I posted there are now 3 recalls in total Australia on the models. All in New Zealand got new MCU,s in 2012. You seem to pick some random km for the DSG and for your 1.4 TSI Oil changes yet not say which country you are in.
  17. '34F7' as i posted to start with. 2009-2012. Then '34H5' on 2013 after the factory oil changed, to 2015 preventative. Google search just to show not even half the threads for the past decade of which i participated, because of the knowledge on what happened within VW Group.
  18. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/315115-service-campaign-dq200-dsg-oil-changeecu-update-fabias-in-uk
  19. No my opinion is not that it is a 'Lifetime Oil', but you buy a used car you have not had from new you do not go right into touching the DQ200 DSG because you do not know what went before. Autocar was wrong and never retracted as i have posted since the 'Service Campaign was called in 2014 in Europe including the UK.
  20. Leave the Oil in the MCU alone, and when you want change the oil in the Box. This is service campaign '34H5' which in Europe was started in 2017 on DQ200,s from 2013 and 2015 and was just a Software Update. Recalls 3 times now in Australia on these.
  21. It will be a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG which means no Oil changes of the 2 oils required. But being a 2010 there was the World Wide recall in 2012 to change the synthetic oil to mineral and a software update. That was a Service Campaign started in 2014 in Europe, '34 F7' there should be a sticker in the spare tyre well showing if done and when and by who.
  22. Welcome. Hopefully someone will be along that can help on the engine. How many miles has it done? Did the seller maybe get rid because of the issue after visiting an Automatic Gearbox Specialist? ? What servicing has the DSG had. It is a DQ250 and due oil and filter changes @ 40,000 mile intervals.
  23. Looks like we used to get as a finish on Mercs & some Fords. I am guessing Aston Martin.
  24. Good tyres can be great, but sometimes even with the best you have to screw the nut. You are only tanking your TDI up to 60 mph or so. If they spin under hard acceleration then they might well have you off the road into corners. Winter is coming even in the south and the best summer or even wet weather tyres can be sh!te for some road conditions, temperatures and surfaces.
  25. @domhnallSimples, paying normal tariffs because no Smart meter, as many others might be. But Smart meter booked because part of the term of the Lower Tariff i am on till March which is just under 21 pence a kWh. I assume that as the last time a fitter came to fit the Smart meter they will not be able to. No home charger just the 3 pin lead. So during storm and just near to home driving & charging at the House. 14/10 2 kWh 14/10 12 kWh 15/10 4 kWh 15/10 2 kWh 15/10 23 kWh 21/10 12 kWh = 45 kWh @ 21 pence £9.45 getting 3 miles a kWh 135 miles.
