the truth about electric cars
@J.R.The button on the door pillar was for 'Disabling the alarm' for people / animals left in a one click locked car, (also for on a transporter or ferry.) or a Double Click dead lock car that even with the window smashed the person can not open the doors from the reaching in and using the handle. Maybe @Leeor someone else can confirm that if they were / are all the same.

the truth about electric cars
You can double click the key fob on a Mk2 Fabia vRS and lock the cars so that the doors can not be opened from inside and the alarm is set and gets set off by the occupant. I did it first by mistake and was inside a building and a bit Mutt & Jeff. The passenger was not amused. Obviously i did it on purpose occasionally after that.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
@PetrolDaveBecause i was stopping to shop beside a Osprey Charger after just 22 miles from setting off i used it just to help incase of diversions on pretty wet roads. 4 kwh took 14 minutes @ 79 pence a kWh. £3.16 My next charge was in Stirling and 20 kWh @ 35 pence a kWh. £7.00 (The ID Buzz was BP Pulse staff at Edinburgh Airport Park & Ride. 55 pence a kWg. Bottom. Free charging & no time limit. Just the luck of getting on and a Big Battery car not parked for 12 hours a day (night) on a AC tethered socket.

Lack of power
@Wggwere the spark plugs replacement advised and done? Do you know if the Air Filter has even been looked at? Good that you go to a good place that has Service Desk staff that knows what is part of keeping a car running well. PS I do not think that DIY DSG reset will do anything, but then trying will do no harm. It is actually not just a 20 seconds, but then the many videos show you what to do.

Kodiaq 1.5 TSI Problems After Transmission Oil Change
Now you know. DSG oil up to 35*oC and that will be the correct level and then that can be discounted as causing the problem.

Kodiaq 1.5 TSI Problems After Transmission Oil Change
I suggest, get the bonnet open, see that all pipes and connections are OK after the filter change at the DSG service. get it on a ramp, DSG oil up to temp and see if there is the correct amount of oil in. Inspect under the car, the prop shaft / coupling. it has done 104,000 + km. ? When were the spark plugs replaced?

In hindsight…
There are no Skoda Approved extensive checks. EDIT. Nice they have this published now. Factory Reset is nice. There are the Finance, and accidents if someone actually had Insurance claims on a damage. Even Dealers might have a car crash and repair with no insurance claim. There is a 'Workshop inspection', but a car might come from another dealer or auction and show as a Used car MPC (Multi point check) as done and never go on a ramp where it is being sold from. So the Websites are interesting, all the assurances, a Premium Paid for a Skoda, VW. SEAT., Audi Approved used car and crap is sold. Various threads on this forum exactly to that affect. Kerb Side Auto paint touch-ups that wash off with a power wash, or just a 2 bucket and sponges wash. SKO-UsedCars-Multipoint-May2022.pdf

Buying advise - Skoda Karoq SE L 1.5TSI DSG
Nothing. You have a warranty just now and when you need to extend make sure the DSG is covered if there is such available. Ps. Twin dry clutch. But there are 2 oils, in the box and in the MCU. Different from Wet twin clutch that there is only the one oil. Leave well alone. Do not take advice to have the oil changed.

DVLA Safety Critical RECALLS are not the same as Skoda Recall Actions / Service Campaigns / Workshop Actions. They should have been done if needed so will not show on the vin checker if so. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions There was the Kangarooing & Software / Engine Management updates for some not just manuals, and some needed a DSG software update. But if it drives fine then good. Any record of the Spark Plugs replaced, and look at the Air Filter and see if clean / fresh.

Buying advise - Skoda Karoq SE L 1.5TSI DSG
@UrbanMan10 is it not 3 former registered keepers, new car, 2 MPC,s then another in July. Concern over Cam belt is it was done correctly.. it is a 6 hour plus job with main dealers quoting from over £700 to over £1,100. But there are members just this week that had it done for £550 and £600 which was the fixed price for TSI,s but not 1.5tsi ACT,s. So maybe main dealer did it. Since July VW/ Skoda changed the guideline for cam belt change and not 5 years / 50,000 in the UK. It was only the UK that had that anyway.

Buying advise - Skoda Karoq SE L 1.5TSI DSG
Looks like ex demonstrator possibly. Or just low miles to first oil service. No Multi point check then. Then sold a couple of times before now. Best check if it had the Recall Action that was a DVLA proper Recall or if it did not require it, and any Warranty work carried out.

No DSG Service due with a FWD with a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch.

New Fabia noise query
@PMS The tyres are bulk purchased by VW Group on price and how many are actually slagging the tyres off that the cars come to the UK wearing? This is your Customer Services that you are talking with unless you have had your complaint escalated to some Senior Management @ VW / Skoda UK which is unlikely. ? Do you have a name of the Customer Services Handler or Resolution Manager?

Best tyres for my green line
@Carlstonis the one to tell you the strongest sidewalls. Maybe Gravel Stage Rally Tyres which are not that expensive. Or something from BF Goodrich, or the Geolanders, I have used all of them at some point on different vehicles. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/471828-robust-tyres-for-octavia-scout Important is your Road miles / use. I had the Riken Snow tyre on my Electric Corsa (Low profile) through this summer having wrecked sidewalls on Michelin Alpin 6, they were fine and used on some tracks with sharp stones etc.

- the truth about electric cars
The RAC was not there were they when the man was filming smoke. The one that attended me asked why i had the bonnet open and i told him so that those circling the charger would see i was maybe having an issue, and so he might spot me since neither the Call Center or him seemed to know the location of the chargers even with the post code. You need the Parking Brake off if you are going to lift the front and put it on a dolly. You need to know when cars are FWD, or RWD or AWD and not all do. There are special trucks with a remote vehicle that come out and lift RWD BMW i3,s etc which the wheels locked and drive them onto the recovery truck. I watched one used to recover a Nissan Leaf that they would not go in because of the mould in it from being parked a year in a council car park during Covid lockdows , flat battery and going to be scrapped as a health hazard.- the truth about electric cars
These Recall Actions were out for a long time and i knew about them from forums and the Vauxhall / Arnold Clark Service center said they were unaware when i asked. People had already been on Youtube showing the issues with smoke in the engine compartment of Corsa Electrics. This was not reacted to very quickly by Vauxhall or Dealers and Service Staff were dismissive.- the truth about electric cars
Surely not, An AC Onboard charger issue regarding a car that was charging and that they switched off from charging before going to bed. Possible was always the issue of turning on the Pre Hearing of the car while on a charger or not from the phone app and some fault, then that might be like a Zafira issue.- the truth about electric cars
Nothing in any Letters in the Motability Lifestyle Magazine or any announcement from Motability on EV Fires or concerns. Well not yet.- the truth about electric cars
Odd as plugged in and Charging not started a Green Square, charging starts a red flashing line in the middle of the green and charging finished the Green Square until car unlocked allowing the charger head to be removed. RED when a Fault. As to the white welcome i must of missed that as blind or daft, the charger port was hard to find in the dark if there was no light from a Public Charger until you got it in. Nice that the van had it. PS. It was AC Charging using the On Board AC charger. Under the bonnet. The PodPoint is not a Charger just the source of the power. ............... This is the Type 2 Cable i am using at home with 3 pin charger well cable and timer, but never bee set as a timer.- the truth about electric cars
Car locked and charger head locked in Green, when charging flashing red in middle of green. Never had it show white on any Stellantis EV i have driven other than charger not charging and not locked in but then i never used Wall Box PodPoint or other Wall Boxes or set timers for charging, i always start a charger & then stop charging. The White and Locked in i have never seen.- the truth about electric cars
@J.R. No mistaking the Green Light with red center stripe flashing when charging. Charger Locked in Light or the White lights. It lights up my front garden. Stellantis Charging Ports and lights are all the same. Peugeot, Citroen / DS, Vauxhall, probably Jeep & Fiat.- Lifting a Yeti ... but by how much ?
Maybe with it lifted you might drive a bit slower so no efficiency loss. Tyres might make a difference though.- the truth about electric cars
I also have no house insurance and an EV but no home charger, just a 3 pin lead. No Go-funding for me please if it all goes ti-ts up. Just plant a tree for me, not a Euonymus alatus / Burning Bush. It could indeed of been the only van available at short notice. Maybe they believed a Vauxhall would be better than the not inexpensive VW Carvelle. I know the Motability price list off by heart and am watching on the morning of each new quarter for the latest advance payments and what is dropped and what comes in and what new comes up in that quarter. I could not afford the £5,000 plus or £7,000 on an EV van, but then you can get grants for assisting on getting the vehicle and free adaptions and chargers and plenty thought that gives cheap travel. They had no idea about public charging, poor range etc. I have had from Motability 14 leased cars and bought 2 using HP when they used to lend you money. Then i traded in Ex Motability vehicles since 1980 when i used to buy them sight unseen from a list when automatics hardly featured and you were limited to 12,000 miles a year. Basically Mini,s then Metros. - the truth about electric cars
