  1. @philipashbyNever used or tried. I have a new card from Motability that gives access to most chargers now. One account for various partners they have. Never managed to sign in or get new passwords to CPS since they suspended them a few weeks ago, but my phone is still showing history and charges like tonights. Charging at various places if there is a card reader paying on CC / DD i use that, especially Ingilston P&R. it is a PITA. Cheaper out to Broxburn Lidl. PodPoint. EDIT, that is now up to 65 pence a kWh. I paid 62 pence @ Tesco Podpoint yesterday & today. PS. I have used Evyve 75 kW DC chargers in Aberdeen & Perth They are at Straiton Retail Park B&M and showing @ 66 pence / kWh on PlugShare, handy. 75 pence on ZapMap so that sounds right for the price now.
  2. Actually more choice of chargers there now.
  3. You might, but you need to allow for diversions / accidents etc so maybe just top up a bit once across the Forth. Do not charge at IKEA, unless you are wanting to over pay. EDIT. Actually if still 69 pence a kWh and working you might as well use, or use the slow charger for a top uo. Straiton Park & Ride is Charge Place Scotland as is Hermiston Park & Ride and Ingilston. 55 pence a kWh though. Do you have a Charge Place Scotland account & a RFID card. If not the chargers work with a Credit or Debit card anyway and my CPS often does not work there. ?? Is the Charge Place Scotland App on your phone, so the Map.? Bottom 2 are from ZapMap & showing IKEA.
  4. Why would a Kamiq not be suited, it is a front wheel drive car as many use globally and you are not going Offroading are you, just on roads that are open and will be treated but maybe white. They use Nordic type Snow / Winter tyres which are different from Snow or Winter tyres available in the UK and that people use. ? There is a Wheel & Tyres section on the Forum, and you have posted in the Kamiq Guide section while asking a question not posting a guide.
  5. The Truth of it is D1cK heads like the driver of this Tesla sitting plugged and locked in the only Rapid for 2 hours now that i have seen. Not charging anymore.
  6. Octopus the cheeky barstewards are on about cheaper tariffs for those within a certain distance of new inshore and offshore turbines in England. That is how it should be for those now, and backdated from the time they have been up. As for Ofgen talking about more cost to customers to stop suppliers going bust. They energy companies are sitting on people money into the billions. Stuff those that pay covering those defaulting. @Graham Butcher Substations. Like at Tealing outside Dundee for the new wind field energy coming ashore at Carnoustie to be online with the one north of Aberdeen and the one to be built near Laurencekirk bringing energy from the Northeast south. PS.& Alyth Substation more Inland near new Windfarms
  7. Did you not try putting that numbers into a search engine and have the top one showing the alloys in ANTHracite & the Bottom in SILver ? Same alloys but come with the different finishes. Yours look very much like SIL ver.
  8. Much cheaper for me heading South & towards the West from home than South and towards the east Heading North into Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire or to the Highland region is really to expensive and there is a pathetic charger network for Rapid charging. (There are available more Commercial chargers which really are expensive for just Tap & Pay.) ..................... I was up in Aberdeen last night and going back today. Than goodness for PodPoint and 50 kW chargers at LIDL & Tesco. 65 pence a kWh or 62 pence i used at Tesco. Aberdeen Councils few rapids about the city are 47 pence a kWh but pathetic getting to work if there are ones that are not blocked by people not caring and time penalties. so 62 pence a kWh is £6.20 for 10 kWh, i needed 20 kWh, £12.40. Was getting 3.7 miles a kWh so 74 miles. Expensive. I had done 100 miles on the battery charged for Free. I have charged at home at 20 pence a kWh so another 20 kWh for £4.00. That gives me just over 100 miles before needing to charge. it will probable be in about 75-80 miles though and with 20 kWh again Works out OK with the free chargers and the lower tariff now at home. (Not an offpeak tariff, an all day and night one.)
  9. The dude from Harmony that has been refused planning permission to build a Solar Farm on prime farming land was on the Radio this morning. They own the company (Not the land) and build the Solar Farms with no public money but need to be near the connections to the grid. The National Grid with a waiting time of years for many to get a connection to and they need near a sub station with the capacity. Same with the Charging hub,s planned even built and they can not get connected. **Totally the wrong place for a solar farm and it is crazy the sites that are selected because of Grid Connection availability, it is the Grid that needs the HS2 money and more and with profits from Energy Transmission being in the Public purse not going abroad.** http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-67054731 Yesterday i heard someone on the radio discussing that Scotland has to take on hand expanding the Grid because as it is there is all the energy being generated and more and more coming available and the National Grid is what is stopping it being used and then there is the lack of storage for that electricity or use to produce green hydrogen. http://insider.co.uk/news/scotland-can-lead-way-rewire-31168234
  10. We used to have to go the the Licencing office with cars radically modified with paper work and SVA or IVA and receipts and lists of parts and Engine Numbers and stuff, then they shut the Offices, you dealt with people without a clue who changed the class of a vehicle etc. The VED or as it was Road Tax. Now you hear so little about it, actually the whole thing is the blind leading the blind. If i was still into offroaders i would have a converted one to electric.
  11. LPG can be used with Diesels not just Petrol engines. Then my Diesel 110 Land Rover 4.6 V8 Auto ran on LPG only and had no petrol tank. Customs at a ferry port wanted to dip the tank i told them there was no diesel tank or engine & no petrol tank only 2 LPG ones. They wanted to open them. I never used the 'Bomb' word but never got on the Ferry. Then they started on Towing for Gain or Reward and No Tacho. I pointed out not required with alternative fuels, then it went all stupid. I asked them if they had any clue on vehicles other than tearing them apart. http://v8engines.com My cookers next to the Big LPG tank, the other one was under my bum when the bed was made up, so i had no chance to kiss it good bye.
  12. We are just missing the use of the actions of a 'Terrorist / Freedom Fighter'. Reference to the Glasgow Terminal fire in 2007 when a blazing Jeep Cherokee was used in the attack & the hero Smeato saved the day. Bound to be some crazy thinking stuff the garden heaters and gas bottles i will use an EV.
  13. Fair enough about it being a good idea but the 'norm' in the UK usually has to do with the Highway Code. The Hazard switch is right there to press once you check the way is clear and you want to reverse. You might not want Hazards on every time you reverse, just like Front Fogs should not be coming on every time someone selects reverse as some cars have. There is a front Fog light switch if someone needs to light the way in front when reversing. Or put full beam on. A Bleeping noise is more useful for the blind or visually impaired when a silent car is reversing like an EV or a Hybrid. There is nothing that helps those with their nose in a phone or head in earphones, a flashing beacon might make no difference.
  14. I don't do X and never did Twitter, just read what was there when a link posted here if it opened without signing in, or if a screenshot so that means none the wiser what the picture shows.
  15. While charging my car I found out the guy who,s van I posted about during COVID for being parked for days and even weeks in charging bays plugged in is a Traffic Warden. That really was a surprise to me but really about par for the course.
  16. As the weather / temperatures drop then the battery might well reach end of life. More load will be on it with heated rear screen, mirrors, lights, radio, heater etc and it takes longer to get power back into the battery s short runs an issue from cold starts.
  17. @Houndog6105Best talk / deal with the Dealer Principal or the Finance Director if the lady is a Sales Executive and not one of those. They all want to meet their sales but the Dealership might have someone that wants the car.
  18. It is 97 ron minimum. Maybe put in some Tesco Momentum 99 (99 ron minimum). The other 99 ron Min are Shell V-Power or Esso Super Unleaded, but then the Sansbury Super unleaded 97 ron Min might sometimes exceed that as others can. As you see same names but not the same formulation. Winter Grade Diesel & Petrol starts being distributed in Scotland and the north of England at the end of this week until March. and down the UK as the weeks go on.
  19. @EpsomWelcome. Your Euro 6 1.2 TSI has a cam belt so different from the euro 5 1.2 TSI here with a timing chain. ? How many miles has your car done. What is Top Grade juice, is it E5 97 or 99 octane you buy?
  20. All go for the Fire & Emergency services in Perth this week. First floods then fire so what next plaque. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-67053127
  21. For the Liverpool Car Park fire @Graham Butcherhas linked the report in the thread in General Automotive chat. All about the petrol Land Rover, what the CCTV shows what the Driver / Owner gave in the way of statements etc. What they came up with and it not a 'case of being a deliberate fire'.
  22. Welcome. BRISKODA Forums,s Cars for sale might be a good place to advertise the car for just a small fee.
  23. Are the very high cost of repairing Accident Damage not involving the Battery or Motor / motors but still requiring special checks over and above the Electrical Checks that ICE should have but often not the real story. Is it the repair of the TESLA, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes and prestige EV,s bodywork that is the issue rather than the common cheaper ev,s body repairs? Approved body repairers. Is it having to put EV drivers into EV Courtesy cars? If the price rises are because the perceived or predicted higher costs coming rather than actual claims and pay outs now, so the risk even though this has not come to pass yet. Or is it really just another 'cunning stunt'. Higher value cars parked on drives are often high price insurance claims from slates coming off roofs and such damage. Now the risk is maybe the property burning down. That will be the Building & Contents Insurance affected then as the Vehicle insurance, as lots of instances if there are EV fires at a home when parked at it the Polices might be with the same families.
