  1. Thing did go bad after Aliastair Stewart moved on from being the Brand Director and then various Front men / woman took senior positions in VW Group & Skoda. He never pretended there were no issues and passed on Customers to useless Communications Managers & Warranty Managers. You could get complaints to him. 2015 they were caught out as cheats and liars, and from then on they really did treat customers as cash cows.
  2. Great video of the 'No ID ea' of what is really coming at around 20,000 euro. 'I guess as long as you mention lots of stuff some will be correct'.
  3. Skoda can be totally atrocious now. Or Skoda UK can be, their Customer Services Contractor. The Approved Repairers / Dealerships that can not see cars with Warranty Issues or Recalls even on almost new cars. Up-selling and yet unable to do work that owners need doing PDQ. Now i am reading a thread on a DSG failure and a All in Skoda Warranty and the member being told only a courtesy car for 2 days. Skoda UK fault, well actually VW UK and senior management UK. Push sales / first registrations while poor PDI,s and after sales services.
  4. ? Who said only 2 days? Was it a Dealership Employee? skoda-allin-warranty-terms-and-conditions.pdf
  5. ? Is that it. ALL IN ONE WARRANTY & only 2 days Courtesy car? Rather crap compared to past Skoda / VW Approved warranties.
  6. Hopefully the V5 arrives in the post today but that is usually after 3 pm. I was registered keeper online since last week & insured since Wednesday but the Insurance is with the car on my reg plate so i could not take the car out.
  7. There are so many Polestar on offer nearly new /low miles. The Airport Hire cars that are delivered by the Bakers Dozen or more regularly and ones hardly used removed. Delivered to Sporting Events like Tennis & Golf also for a few days or weeks use. How much Credits Geely sell to other manufacturers in the UK that are not Registering enough No Emissions vehicles others will maybe know or find out. Smoke an mirrors right across BEV sales / registrations in the UK. Kidology about losses maybe a Taxes nor needing to be paid, and penalties to the Treasury. ... Social domestic leisure, or maybe Commuting, or even Business, Commuting , Social domestic and leisure. 60 MPH NSL UK. Just transport. Parked on drive or street or public car parks. Insurance not that high for some. What a bl00dy plaster. Just get a pre 2024 EV as a commuter. They are available for around £5,000-6,000.
  8. The cat should be heating up quickly and any misfires or Software / Engine management issues might cause issues. Does the engine start with a RPM at about 1,100 rpm and drop to around 800-850 after 40-60 seconds running? No AC on?
  9. Guest_ replied to blueboar's topic in Škoda Scala
In the UK the Service Regime / Recommendation, Guidelines / Schedule / Specification is at 40,000 miles / 4 years. 3 Plugs with the Fixed Price menu was the same as 4 plugs. Some are now being asked for £200 be it 3 or 4 plugs. Greedu Barstewards. 1.0 TSI,s can have 1 plug poor by 30,000 miles.
  10. @Graham Butcher You can have a Premium car on Motability, a BEV, pay up to £8000 and get one. Plenty do. All peoples / families with a disability are not skint. Plenty have money. Ex Military get higher payments / allowances.
  11. Nothing in the wheel, no valve sensor. You could always look at a valve and you would see they are just rubber valves in the rim. No place does it show you in the car the pressure of each tyre or the temperature.
  12. But this is the real world. Premium Price paid new, Business / lease, even private. Not by Motability, they get deals like fleets might. Used Premium EV,s selling damn cheap even compared to the Premium ICE equivalent. So even paying £25 for 50 kWh and getting 200 miles will suit plenty. A petrol version getting 40 mpg will be 5 gallons @ say £6 =£30. So plenty are driving ex company cars bought used, and a bargain really if buying a pretty new used car that lost 2/3rds in less than 2 years. Long Battery Warranty and maybe an extended warranty bought. Not expensive. Servicing need not be expensive.
  13. OK. So Haldex and DSG were done. Not the rear axle / diff, some people launch boats / jet skis with AWD,s. Hence some change Diff Oil. (& Fluids are also Coolant & Brake Fluid.)
  14. 'Likely' means nothing. Is it a major difference parked off road compared to onroad? Location location location, Postcode lottery. 1 mile apart can make a diiffence. And expensive cars on drives and damage from building, slates / trees is an issue. Then Business Owners / Fraud claims is an issue. We know how many people in the UK. Well we as in The Government should' We know how many have a driving licence, just not how many drive. Many have a car, or 2, or some have 3 or maybe 200. So really it is insurers that should know how many insured cars and drivers insured, Fleet / Group Insurance etc etc. There is one thing about public charging. You have some proof you or the car was there, but no guarantee really what car it was that was charging. Sometimes CCTV, sometimes lighting and security. Its all a lottery. There are millions of vehicles parked on the Public Highways in the UK daytime an night time. All needs taken with a pinch of salt. & plenty drivers have no driving licence.
  15. No point really comparing a Manual vs a DSG, then people not saying if a TSI or TDI and if a TSI (or even a MPI) then with or without ACT (eg 1.5 TSI ACT). Then saying what year of an Octavia between 2015 & 2023.
  16. Obviously. So do not lie to insurers.. But regardless of National Statistics 60% of households do not have Private Off Road Parking. But 100 % of home owners/ tenants do not have vehicles. Then we have no idea how many EV drivers have off street / private drive parking. @Graham Butcher No diesel anymore, just a low annual mileage Suzuki petrol. & when it goes the EV will replace it. When the MINI from Motability goes it will be a Van / Camper i get, likely not Electric. & when being used it will not be parked at home.
  17. The Moisture in the Catalytic Converter interests me. Sounds like BS.
  18. Have you noticed there is a world & UK outside Chelmsford. You bought a Kodiaq. Job done, fill her up and off you can go, many miles, then filler her up.
  19. 'Just say no'. If it is not sensible, not financially viable to drive or buy something then do not. Say no to InstaVolt & sitting the car for an hour maybe while shopping or at gym etc for 50 kW @ 54 pence a kWh 8 pm to 7am. 200 miles added maybe. Or if you have a bigger battery and fast charging maybe 300 miles in 90 minutes at places. More than half of all registered private vehicles in the UK are likely parked on streets or car parks or car lots at random places. Regardless of what those Insuring cars tell the insurer. Then Reps / Travellers / contractors etc will be parking where ever whenever if they work away & stay away from home some of the week..
  20. Bump for @Tombaker1 Maybe of interest. I have no idea regarding your own post and question.
  21. ^^^ Obviously. Even to an ICE driver or BEV / PHEV driver. Did you read the bottom 2 lines of my post? Maybe needs charged on a PodPoint or similar AC public charger at 44 - 50 pence a kWh. Maybe a DC at that tariff. As there are people doing.
  22. Are there any EV drivers / Owners on here that have had a licence less than 10 years & not had Diesel or Petrol car? ? Do ICE drivers / owners that have not had or drive EV,s really know more than those that have had or driven? i have my opinion on who,s opinion is not worth a bag of magic beans.* Important is who and where. Choices. Business users with Tax incentives driving EV,s or those with Home / Work Place or cheap charging. Even private users if no home charger and paying Standard tariff on a 3 pin. 10 kWh is £3.00 & might take you 35-50 miles. Public charging for 50 pence a kWh then £5.00 for that 35-50 miles. Maybe free parking or other benefits of driving an EV.
  23. @woodyvw How many miles was it 2 years ago? They never renewed the Rear Diff oil when doing the Haldex (all the fluids) did they? So is it a DQ500 or a DQ381 DSG your car has & what was the mileage when the oil & filter was changed?
