Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
@Graham Butcher He is certainly not just a Vlogger. Is he a multi millionaire or billionaire or CEO of a Multi National corporation having any influence of the Global Drive to Electrification? Just another person maybe p!$$ing into the wind and making a good living out of his training and experience. Maybe a well recognised expert employed by ferry and shipping companies as well as all the others they will have. Or maybe they just all wing it.

DSG adaptation (reset basic settings) after oil change
@Soldjer330 Some might on a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch. Is 60,000 km the official Service Interval in Croatia according to Skoda / VW for a DQ381 7 speed wet clutch DSG. Or a recommendation? By who? The UK is at 80,000 miles as th Rest of the world is, so more like 128,000 km.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher It being about the UK is very relevant. Rest of world including the EU is a different can of worms or kettle of fish. The actual number of BEV,s sold new or leased to private individuals is a figure the UK government and SMMT should have and publish. Maybe the government and HMRC and the DfT need to get a grip on Pre Reging to get First Registrations. Also Demonstrators for this tax benefit to dealerships. ???? How many new BEV,s add Company cars , business use with tax benefits against his many will be private use. How many are Bunkered and first registered and not on the roads? PS the trading of credits needs stopped. There are the requirements of Zero Emission cars and vans to First Register and ask the Average Fleet emissions for the UK. The government are conspiring by allowing the kidoligy thay manufacturers are carrying out.

Skoda Electric Models
@lol-lol Have you some investment in VW Group or has your pension provider. I would not worry about VW Group, the Management / Board & Qatar Investments have been taking the P!th. If they are viable they survive. If they build and sell what people want and make a profit they will survive. If they Pyramid sell and keep selling cars not properly tested and without faults then they deserve to go under.

DSG adaptation (reset basic settings) after oil change
I would be concerned 'The professional' did not do a competent job. What needs doing is get the car on the ramp and check the Oil Level again as shown in the Video. Then Resets might be order of the day. Currently check first the oil level.

new to me Karoq 1.6tdi dsg
Another of those amazing things. AdBlue being a product that VW has the licence for and was what required VW, Mercede Benz & BMW to conspire over tank sizes and VW to have the Illegal Defeat Device. AdBlue a product that might well be used in Light goods, HGV, & passenger vehicles globally. Yet, no special additive already added versions on sale for the UK driving public. You can fool some of the people some of the time but maybe not all the people. No Heavy Oil / Derv / Diesel already with the MILLERS already added, but you can get Diesel with different detergents / additives, maybe a different cetane, and maybe not. ........... I would run a new to me car on the regular fuel, or Super Unleaded Petrol or Special Diesel and be sure all is well before messing with 'Special bottles of stuff'. Same with AdBlue, since when the system goes wrong it is not cheap to fix.

new to me Karoq 1.6tdi dsg
Just get the Adblue level down lower until it needs filing and put in the Additive then the quantity Adblue required. The car has probably gone near 9 years already without any additive.

Skoda Electric Models
No for sale version of the Vision C yet, & no £17,000 EV on sale yet or even revealed as it might be @ over £21,000. Skoda is great at 'Concepts' and Imaginings, & getting Media space because of Click Bait articles. If Skoda could just get out a BEV Estate car, and maybe a Light Commercial version. No back seats, they could then do a 'Pickup' and catch the attention of the buying public. Just a fun 2 seater & under £25,000 in the UK.

VW Alloys for my Fabia
Buying 'Used Rims' from cars that were built over 18 years ago is just not Simply Clever. & as to buying New ones for that model, why would anyone to put on a different model when they can just buy New that came on the Model / Generation of car they have.

DSG adaptation (reset basic settings) after oil change
@Soldjer330 During the oil change & refilling and setting the level was the oil temperature being monitored as you went through the procedure and the correct oil level filling?

VW Alloys for my Fabia
Plenty used rims advertised. Just need to buy well and correct fitment. PS. The op might well have very good tyres already.. and style a priority.

VW Alloys for my Fabia
@Carlston No mention in the OP of 14" or 15" rims. Looking for a decent set of 16" rims. (From a VW)

Yellow Rear Bumper
Rare car in the colour and then if not being scrapped then very rare. Best find a bumper at a good price and a painter that does a good job at a fair price. Have you posted on a Skoda forum in Wanted. Someplace liked BRISKODA. vRS mk 2 or MK1 in the correct yellow even rarer. And MK2 are post Facelift.
- Octavia Mk 2 VRS 1.8 TDI 59 plate, low rev rattle

VW Alloys for my Fabia
Not newer generation of Golf. That are as with an Octavia, Karoq, A3 / A4 , Leon etc. 5 x112 PCD. You are looking for 5x100 PDC Scala, Kamiq, Roomster, A1, Ibiza.

Mechatronics failure ? 10666
@danielwattsup Is it a 7 speed wet clutch DQ381 DSG that your 2018 Karoq DSG has? One oil in box and MCU. & Not a 7 speed twin dry clutch DQ200 DSG with 2 oils, in the box and the MCU.
-
Are Octavia identical as A4 and Passat?
@43576 What engines are you talking about the model from Skoda & from the sister brands having. Is it 2 litre TSI /TFSI or TDI,s and FWD only or ones that might be AWD?

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
I have the Mini for another year or longer. RAC insurance was crazy. NCB used on other cars. They wanted £1,000 with Ageas. Confused.com allow for driving other cars and no claims like the Mobility car. £450 with Ageas. Breakdown, windscreen legal cover etc. New brake pads getting fitted and fluid being done, filter and the MOT as that was due in October. It is 80 kW CCS / DC charging.

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
I bought a 2021 MG5 Exclusive (Estate) in White that has done 33,525 miles. Not a Long Range just a 52.5 kWh / 48.8 kWh usable. Max charging 80 kW CCS but only a maximum 6.6 kW AC (Not 11 kW) Tyres are fine for now but once i see what range i get All Season will be going on, & a tow bar for bike rack or trailer.

How to enhance suspension for the crappy roads
Welcome. What size rims, tyre size is fitted now? Tens of thousands of others cars are driving pretty standard factory set ups around Edinburgh (& Scotland. ) Do you really want to buy smaller wheels and tyres with more sidewall? If you do then maybe get All Season Tyres & XL (Reinforced sidewalls). Maybe no softer ride & you still need to avoid potholes but they stand up a bit better to Ironworks on the road. & you will be doing better when Snowmaggedon hits the Capital City this winter.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
@lol-lol Is that ' a 5 door or a cabriolet' ? It was Countryman PHEV,s i was looking at, used. As for EV,s I am interested in seeing the Renault 4, but more so the Skoda Epiq. I have had a potential offer today of a car that i will have to wait and see about when the owner makes up his mind over what they want to be doing when their finance arrangement ends.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
I am thankful for having my fixed tariff with Eon Next until the end July next year and it is 6.5 pence a kWh for 7 hours, so charging on the 3 pin lead and the house through the night. Public charging is too expensive now and i would not run a private EV if only able to Public charge as that would be more expensive than an ICE getting 45 mpg & better. As i look at cars to get i am holding off to see what is what. Pretty sure i do not want to buy anything anymore, not sure if i will use Motability when the Electric MINI goes back or before due back next August i return early. The way prices are for EV,s Motability looks as good as and Lease or Personal Contract Hire Deals with deposits. Maybe a PHEV will suit me as long as charging at home still available.

Stop/Start issue / Battery Question
There are many differences among VW Group Stop / Starts. I could reverse the 2016 Seat Alhambra 2.0 TDI SCR DSG from the front of my house and across the pavement when weather below freezing first start of the day, select D and move 20 yards to the main road & it would stop the engine. 'Autohold enabled' Stop / Start enabled. Heated rear screen, mirrors & fan on. Restart with a wiggle of the steering wheel or touch the accelerator or brake pedal. It was that way from new and until it was handed back 3 years later. A decent sized battery fitted. Same with hot weather and AC on. Stop / Start always there ready to do it,s stuff.
