  1. What a song and dance has come about because of comments from a fully pensioned & invested up member bought 2 drinks while charging an EV. Each to their own. 'Cut your coat to suit the cloth'. Getting BIK, home charging, paid for their mileage etc. All that is missing is Lunch in , Luncheon Vouchers. Green Shield stamps & getting the deposit back on a glass bottle, or before that a bottle and a stopper.
  2. Public transport. OAP benefits with that. Pensioner offers in cafes, chip shops etc. Walk or cycle or run a car. Triple lock. Cheap living. Some have never had it so good. Fuel prices up but nothing crazy. PS. Skoda Kodiaq or the likes are lifestyle choices. A taxi / Uber occasionally is all some use and Home deliveries are less than 2 coffees or all gallon of fuel.
  3. £6.00 for 2 Hot Drinks out. £6.00 for 4.546 litres of petrol to take you 45 miles. The same £6.00 a day for electric and gas is enough for heating and cooking in a house. £180 a month. £2,160 a year. The UK is not The Arctic. You surely have a few months without needing the heating needed in a UK winter. Pensioners in England are getting £200-£300 'Winter Fuel Payment 2025/26. Then the £150 Home Warm Discount for a few million people. Credited onto your Electric Account. Many pensioners if that is people 66 or over are taking the total pIth when they go on about being able to turn on the heating. They had 50 years to think on about where they live and priorities and there have been Schemes for 50 years on Insulating properties etc. If truly they never afforded luxuries through their working or not working life and only scraped by then that is one thing. If they smoked, gambled, drank alcohol, had holidays etc and now can not manage if getting £227.10 a week if single or £346.60 from Pension Credit, Home Warm Discount of £150 & the Winter Fuel Payment there isw something far wrong. Because Pension Credit qualifies them for more benefits. As to a Pensioner just on the State Pension of £230.25, they might be much worse of than those getting Pension Credit if they have very little extra in the way of a works pension. Anyway, pensioners might have a damn sight more than Hard working or hardly doing a hands turn non pensioners. But then plenty spend more on a Smart Phone or devices monthly than others spend just on Electric & Gas. Cut your coat according to the cloth.
  4. Local Crematorium in the countryside. Simply clever. More going in.
  5. #Some girls do and some girls don't, some girls need a lot of buying drinks and food and others don't'. Same with boys. Many will charge an EV at public chargers and not feel the needs to splash cash on sitting in or taking away drinks or food. Or might do that even if they drive an ICE vehicle. Car parks are occupied by people not driving ev's at various locations and doing what they do. It takes all types of people. I am of the tight type of person that eats what i want or need and budget myself to my means. Home charging and saving loads can maybe mean i spend what is saved on whatever. Public charging and paying more than running an ICE vehicle makes me tighter fisted and liable to have food or drink with me. Or if i want to splash out i do. Meal Deals at Filling Station with a Bakery maybe. Or a McD or KFC something. Not £3 or more for a hot drink when a 100 gram jar of coffee i have at home is £1.15
  6. @passthepointofnoreturn Euro 5 1.6 TDI CR were. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-campaigns
  7. @passthepointofnoreturn has it had the VW emission fix carried out or is that outstanding?
  8. I have never seen this newest shaped models before. I would like one.
  9. Declare anything not factory standard or dealer option fitment, but that need not mean the premium loaded. The Haldex is not serviced to the Manufacturers Recommendations, Guidelines, Schedule or specification, but many Skoda / VW Approved cars are not, and they give them a warranty.
  10. I would want a Battery Condition certificate for the PHEV. I would want a 50 miles minimum test drive starting off with a full battery and run on Electric only to see how it is. As well as the Fixed Regime 9,400 mile oil & filter changes with the 1.4 TSI were the spark plugs changed each 40,000 miles when the DQ400-e DSG was being serviced? So 4 times now.
  11. Just a small point re Skoda & VW Group and fuel filler flaps and 'Super Unleaded' as they call it in Germany or where ever. The Fabia Mk2 vRS fuel filler where 95 is the Minimum and 98 Recommended / Prescribed. 'Super plus'. Same with GTI,s / R,s and Cupra etc, and people will know if their vRS has the same. (95) / 98.
  12. & now in 2025 in the UK there should be no implication on declared wheel change to the Type Approved sizes for All Season / Winter tyres that could have Snow Chains fitted if required. In the UK or elsewhere in Europe or in the EU. Skoda gives the size for that suitability.
  13. They are wonderful. Tens of thousands, millions even. Taxi,s Family cars. Business & Commercial use. But the OP,s is not right sadly. Needs someone that knows them to get it fixed.
  14. Welcome. Did you check what pressure the tyres were at before or after road testing the car? My guess is you will enjoy more comfort with a change of wheel size and tyres & going All Season. Re extended warranty. Does the service history show the Haldex serviced in 2021 & 2024?
  15. Please ignore me. I deleted what i posted. I had not seen several of the posts before i posted. .......... One thing that people need to be aware of is using the term Charged to 100%. There are batteries and systems and the space left in batteries is for regeneration.
  16. I wonder if it had The Fix sometime since 2017 so new Engine Management and a flow device in the air intake. Then a roll back and the flow device removed or not. & DPF delete, and an EGR / blank or removal. So much that can have happened other than just being as it left the factory and not running well.
  17. @Tellster Just a small point. There is an 'Inspection' message and a 'Service' message, Do you have both for the same time and not one on Fixed Service , 372 days / 9,400 miles and Inspection still as Variable & @ 24 months? Did they actually reset the SERVICE message. When have they set that for the next service? Has your car a VAQ diff and has it been serviced at 2 or 3 years, and properly by them?
  18. @jimharston23 Are you actually running 'Winter tyres' all year as in Snow tyres or are they 'All Season / All Weather tyres? 3PMSF What tyres are them. Brand / name. Re the advice about Winter and tyre pressures and increasing. Same stuff for a couple of decades, and this is not Winter or winter temps and All Season / Summer bias tyres are not as Winter Tyres well. The plus 0.2 bar or the likes are Cold Temp settings, as in set at the temp that day or weather not the same as if a freezing ground temp at night and maybe 15*oC air or road temp day time. (Not set in a heated / warmer garage.) Head for thinking and feet for dancing. & location location location. 'The nights are drawing in' After a heat wave English Bank Holiday Monday comes maybe a rainy week and a few cold nights Oop north. Even frost before September.
  19. OT, but putting here just incase and Rapid or Citigo owners see this thread & read it.
  20. Bump. Just incase anyone with a Citogo might not be aware.
  21. Jags are 10 a penny up in the north though. I would quite like a convertible one tonight though for a blast up through the Highlands. Lovely evening
  22. Let's hear the Truth about Supercars and the economics of them. I like the Dirty Truth of the North Coast 500 and this includes the supercar drivers behaviour and stupidity of vehicles with tyres that are not readable available but really need to be north of Inverness at the rate ones are being wrecked. Business,s will adapt to cater for them. We loved click bait vids. The McMasters look like health or poor health and travel mostly. How many times can you slag Porsche and EV,s and keep on keeping on driving one?
  23. It is all a minefield. The personal and private / public transport, land, sea & air. Even clean fuel sources requires dirty practices. Like all those minefields that are around as around the globe the fighting goes on over land, minerals, oil & gas. Never being resolved and huge industries are built on wars and minerals and fuels for energy & over water. All the crap regarding road vehicles in the UK and RoW is not getting sorted out any time soon. BEV,s are getting cheaper and cheaper and the electricity to power them cheaper and cheaper for some.
  24. You have your warranty so best read it. Report ASAP to a Dealership / Authorised repairer. The employee needs to report it to the Qualified or trained Warranty Manager and not just go Oooo. Pictures to be taken and an inspection arranged. Expect sometimes the 'Car has been repaired', not factory finish etc. Well the professional measuring the paint is the one to do the report. If damaged then from factory, in transit, Kerb Side Auto Dealership repair not recorded etc etc. That is just to let you know. Get your pictures, keep safe and send into the Dealership now and arrange pre visit that they have a Factory / Manufactures paint issue to deal with. Hopefully nothing coming up with new models like the Yeti Zinc Inclusion issues. (Not very likely on non metal components.)
