Delivery times?
Factory close downs and everything shut and no production is different from 'new lines and machinery installed', training being done, maintenance etc, maybe even employees finishing or fitting parts to bunkered vehicles. I have no idea what they will or will not be doing. Maybe they do switch off the power and lock the gates.

Delivery times?
They need to as the MY23 cars will be starting to get turned out. The MY22 models need flogged & first registered.

Drive Modes
'Coasting' function with a DSG is the gears disengaged. As was with some DSG's / Vehicles, D 7 went t just D when 'Coasting'. Engine cut out so all cylinders & Coasting to a halt or restart or Cylinder Deactivation and 2 cylinder shutdown and still then Coasting yet another thing.

FWD or AWD?
It is a real shame that many Skoda Service Desk Jockeys know nothing about FWD cars with a VAQ front diff and it's need to service which some if they do know think is an optional thing as far as servicing. It is all optional really but can cost you dear if not done and not done properly. Even worse is Technicians that do not know, or if they do they do make owners aware of the VAQ servicing requirement, or the service desk staff. There is so much wrong with no Service Books in cars and specific to the actual Model / Drivetrain.

Karoq and VCDS upgrade /modifications..?
Self preservation is put on the side & dipped beam in poor visibility, and do not trust that Autolights mean you have front and rear lights. Daytime / Daylight Running lights were to let others like pedestrians and cyclists see cars moving towards them in daylight, yet a car stopped / parked with an engine on has them shining, and the likes of Mk2 Fabia vRS had / have ridiculous ones in the position of fog lights and still people think they are fog lights. Even police officers that pulled up Mk2 Fabia vRS drivers for fog lights on thought they were. (It was a joy to ask them where the Front Fog light switch was, same with Car SAlespeople that said the cars had Fog Lights as the brochure / adverts did, and to show the DRL on / off switch in the fuse box to police officers, but that eventually was done away with.) There are UK MOT Examiners that fail Mk2 Fabia vRS for not having working sidelights and need shown that the DRL / Sidelight unit is the sidelights when dim. There are plenty muppets on the roads with no idea what lights there cars have. Come the winter and getting dark late afternoon there are plenty crap bright DRl Renault / Kia and others going about with just them on. Dim / Dip as Volvos had were pretty damn good and the rear side / position lights were on as well.

Tredz often showed not in stock and a delivery date and they will notify you when in and due for dispatch. I would order and that night get an Email from the supplier saying dispatched and delivery the next day or the day after, so straight from them to me and never touching Tredz. They were great, i used 2 years interest free credit with the 1st payment after 12 months, even to buy discounted bikes from them. Then Halfords bought them, then it all went a bit crap. As with Wheelies.

1,5 Business Edition - Muffled exhaust, stalling, heavy vacuum when removing the oil filler cap.
@Roger72What type of engines were these that you did this with? If you think the lease car is not running right then go see a Dealerships technician. Has the car had a Oil & Inspection Service before you collected it? Is the Ateca the same age as your car and running the same petrol so Unleaded or Super Unleaded E5 or E10?

Drop-in 6-speed manual gearbox replacement for a 5-speed 1.2 [Fabia MkII]?
Economy looks Bob on. As one might expect. @MPGwatcher You say lots of stop-start traffic, so do you have Stop / Start on your car and do you have it enabled sometimes and off at other times?

the truth about electric cars
One i3 REx driver peed me off regularly as he parked at the only 50 kW charger within 15 miles every time he was in town regardless of if he needed to and headed off for however long and left the car there even when the charging was done. We chatted fine a few times about his trips his miles etc and i had even come off charging to let him on when he arrived and i was almost done. Then i sussed he was at it and i just began making him wait and ignoring him. Lots have no idea when they see a BMW i3 parked charging just what flavour they are.

Drop-in 6-speed manual gearbox replacement for a 5-speed 1.2 [Fabia MkII]?
The reason many use a filling station 20 pence tyre inflator even at 20 pence for the front and 20 for the rear is because they check and adjust pressures regularly car loaded, car unloaded, car towing etc, season change etc. Easy and quick and accurate and if you have one foot or bad knees a foot pump is not ideal or a hand pump or any such.

Fair enough not wanting to open his bonnet and remove the oil filler cap with the engine running. Leave the Oil filler cap on and only remove with the engine off and to top up the oil. As long as the friend is opening the bonnet when the engine is up to operating temperature and parked on the flat and the engine off a few minutes. That is to check the Oil Level before any warning light for Low Oil or Low Oil Pressure. So do you need to check the oil level, cold, then at operating temperature. PS If there is a Low Oil warning and you open the bonnet, the warning can go off for 100 km even if no oil is added. So be aware of that.

FWD or AWD?
So if no Haldex to have serviced at 3 years / 30,000 miles there is the DSG at 40,000 miles (Not at 4 years). If a DQ381 that would be at 80,000 miles. Worth the brake fluid being tested and changed if needs must, that depends on the H20 content. Pollen filter due a 2nd change, or at least a clean up of the area, shake and vacuum it.

the truth about electric cars
I just had a look at the price of BMW i3 range extenders. Loads of money for even 2013 cars but they make lots of sense and any owner with one i have spoken with loved them. There are some out there that have done lots of miles so not just cars bought as a status symbol, actually driven.

Skoda specialist for the Inverclyde/Paisley/Glasgow area?
Sadly no. You could ask a driver of a Skoda Taxi / Uber who they recommend. Maybe they just use the un-reputable Main Dealers though.

Drop-in 6-speed manual gearbox replacement for a 5-speed 1.2 [Fabia MkII]?
If using a Multi National owned or independent filling stations Inflation device that you pay, 20 or 50 pence or even £1 to use i trust it. I check it with some Tyre Pressure Gauge i have but really the Fore Court maintenance is better than i am. As for a hose with an inflator coming out a door from the compressor and wrapped around a wheel bolted to a wall and free to use, i never see many of those these days.

the truth about electric cars
I wish i had money to grab a 2nd hand Mii Electric or e-Up as a keeper / future classic. But i have not the money, do not need one right now and they are in demand. Cracking cars. Sadly the Citigo iV is a bit of a lottery charger wise. PS Just checked Autotrader. Hens teeth there. A few only VW, SEAT or Skoda advertised. Holding asking prices, so probably selling prices as well. People are keeping them if they have them. The early VW e-Up! is only for those that are OK with the poor range they have.

But then HALFORDS own Tredz & Wheelies. So that tells you lots. I used to use Tredz to buy bikes and had a reliable local delivery driver / bike enthusiast that found time to see what i was getting and help take them out the box. As for TNT and the other delivery companies, when i worked for a cycle shop we ended up owning bikes we never ordered and having to reorder bikes we had that never arrived.

FWD or AWD?
No. But it will be interesting to know if the person at a Dealership Service Desk knows anything about different Skoda models and their servicing requirements. But then it is usual that someone buying a car knows what they have, especially if in the past they had an Octavia Scout.

FWD or AWD?
@Jamie1991 What engine and gearbox do you have? ? Did they tell you at the dealership or print out what servicing your car has had so far? That would have been Simply Clever. This gives an Idea of Fixed Servicing Recommendations or even Schedules. That is Annual /9,400 miles (10,000). Flexible / Variable serving as the cars come set for from the factory at 2 years / 18,000-20,000 mile service regimes means that the 1 year, 3 year thing goes a bit Pete Tong.

Drop-in 6-speed manual gearbox replacement for a 5-speed 1.2 [Fabia MkII]?
You could try that pressures, then let down a little at a time if they do not feel OK / Safe. But then nobody knows what tyres you have, brand, size etc.

Delivery times?
Reality is that the cars arrive into various countries or to dealerships in a random way which is not explained by people making guesses or telling what a car salesperson told them. What is important to the VW Group is is controlling the Average C02 emissions for the EU or UK first registrations so that they are not fined for failing to meet their requirements.

the truth about electric cars
In the UK the dates are set for the last sales / registration on Petrol & Diesel car sales in the UK. In the Superb & Octavia section there are posts from members getting very good economy from the latest diesels. There are newish petrols and diesels doing short trips and getting worse economy than similar vehicles were getting decades ago. If they are really only getting 25 mpg doing a few miles a day then that is just crap. That is not just big heavy models. It is a matter of horses for courses and what can suit different people. Sadly the WLTP / RDE2 figures are just ridiculous. If there was a truer indication of economy and emissions the UK Government could truly hit financially those running the least efficient cars. That is family cars for individuals, families or for commercial / business use. The Hybrid thing is just too much kidology as is Mild Hybrids to a degree. Then the BEV WLTP figures given are just ridiculous.

Delivery times?
Things have to move. Last year's model need to get first registered in various countries. Money needs to come in even if VW group are selling them to VW finance. There are far too many cars sitting with some old fuel in, AdBlue, oil, brake fluid, tyres. They should be discounting these cars built last year.
