Drop-in 6-speed manual gearbox replacement for a 5-speed 1.2 [Fabia MkII]?
Maybe narrower more eco bias ditch finder tyres with less grip / friction and set at a higher tyre pressures and driven with great care will save a bit of fuel. That is when replacement tyres are required.

the truth about electric cars
I have stayed plugged in now because there is just me and a PHEV Niro that never got charged yesterday. Plug in hybrids with less than a 15 kW battery sitting on 7kWh chargers half or whole days because it is a park and ride is one thing, but where there are maybe 4 chargers it is a p|$$ take.

the truth about electric cars
^^^ Indeed. I am off to get 40 minutes charge in before the hybrids hog the free chargers for hours. I am not spending money to buy plates with a Green Flash. Often BEV drivers think i should let them charge because they think i am in a hybrid.

Mk4 colour edition wheel caps
@Drewmac was this someone on the parts desk that asked if the wheels were 15/16/17 " , & was this at Ingrams?

Delivery times?
With a car sales person / executive / dealer principal best that you just ask them where they get their stories. Is it from the factory from a reliable source or a document released to dealerships or are they just going on Chinese whispers and from a man who knows a man or woman. There is a load of guff being told daily and weekly and monthly by car sales people to customers and potential customers. Skoda / VW can do press releases if they want when they want to tell people rather than allowing the rumour mill.

900 miles to a tank?
I just stick with remembering that an Imperial gallon is 4.546 when using a calculator because i have always known a gallon as that. The stupidest thing is that we buy fuel in litres and the cars show miles per gallon when miles per litre is pretty easy to work out and what i used especially when i ran LPG's.

e bike buying thoughts
They are super popular in the UK which left the EU and because of supply and demand there are not loads to chose from for quick delivery. Just a while back you could have a ready to ride e-Bike after the bars were turned, delivery to the UK from the EU quicker than you might get one from a UK retailer or distributor. http://electricbikesupermarket.co.uk/collections/ktm-e-bikes

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
The UK owning the National Grid would have been a good idea... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Grid_plc 'Taking back control of energy security.' Just not the UK taking back control. http://www.nationalgrid.com/gt-announcement 2022. 2019. 2022.

4x4 - Loss of traction.
There is the rear Haldex Servicing. That is at 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner. so on a 2014 car should have been done twice by now. maybe even 3 times. The rear diff might at some point benefit from an oil change. Just be sure nobody is mixing up the drain holes of the Haldex and the rear diff. So they need to know their holes....

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
England needs to get on with this energy from wind and storage because for the next year's it will be coal, oil and gas and even Diesel Farms generating electricity. Then the cost a fortune now and for ever nuclear. Those oil companies threatening to not go ahead drilling in the North sea will have no problem finding others ready to take the licence. Same with those with the licence for offshore wind farms. Since my local council starting charging last November 23 pence a kWh to charge i have had this at PodPoint at no cost. and it breaks my heart if i have to buy bananas at full price. 1,130 kWh @ 23 pence would have been £260 that my council would have had. I have had more than that from PodPoint as if charging for less than 15 minutes i do not log in. When there is a 50kWh charger available at only 28 pence a kWh i would use that when needing a quick charge as my home tariff is almost that.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
2 mornings now later than my usual getting to the PodPoints at Tesco and the workers have already plugged in their hybrids or ev,s for hours and bogged off to work and earn money. If it continues like this I might need to start spending some of my Tax Payer funded benefits to charge my car. That might be the twice yearly £247 that the Scottish system paid me this month, the £326 that I get from the UK on 10th July and £324 in to the Autumn or the £150 before December. I might even use some electric from the £400 credit that goes on my energy account. This recession is going to hurt.... Not. Ps. Just got my fruit for the day at the reduced self for no more than it cost last year or the year before. That is as benefit of being into supermarkets regularly.

Yeti 1.2 - still leaking oil
The engine was built on a line over 7 years ago and has had enough sealant to keep the oil in for at least 6 years. Skoda build engines for the VW Group and they are in the sister brands. http://skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-releases/skoda-celebrates-13-millionth-engine-mlada-boleslav-launches-production-new-1-0-tsi/ So has the cam belt been changed and not enough sealer applied at a Skoda or VW Dealership at some point? PS In Australia in 2019 a Recall / Service campaign was called on DQ200 DSG the age yours is. Is yours part of that and was it carried out. It is a Software Update because of pressure / heat issues that can cause cracks / leaks. http://www.drive.com.au/news/new-recall-of-80-000-volkswagen-audi-and-skoda-cars-with-dsg-gearboxes-some-for-the-second-time-in-six-years http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473213-another-dsg-recall-today-sorry-if-already-posted

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
This Government have the answer for those that want a better home, maybe with off street parking, or a better car or standard of living / income. Get a better education, work longer hours and harder or just a better job, or more jobs, or get elected to the Parliament.

Spark Plug Gap
The correct plugs come Pre-gapped. This shows the gap to check that they are at before you fit them. (There is a thread on the airbox if you need that.) http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/446482-fitting-new-spark-plugs-to-2007-roomster http://opieoils.co.uk

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
There are Rural grants available in Scotland. What the UK says about grants and chargers might apply to all of the UK but devolved governments can still do their own thing. There are Business User Grants and interest free loans for new & used EV's in Scotland. Cars, Vans, Scooter / Mopeds / Motor Bikes. ......................... Early adopters of EV's need not have been wealthy people and can be getting none means tested benefits or just a vehicle for work, taxi drivers, couriers, trades people etc. Plenty Kangoo Electrics, Zoe etc, Leafs were on the road and wealthy people were not interested in them.

To be brutally honest. Why do you want to change that spoiler or add to it? I love Mk2 Fabia, ugly cars suit me but changing the spoiler would be like putting lipstick on a pig.- Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
http://www.drivedundeeelectric.co.uk/dundee Where they come up with the 51% mentioned here i have no idea. It is the 49% that must be a total crap figure that is a figment of someones imagination. As many as 50% certainly do not have driveways or off street parking. As many as 80 % if they bothered to get the correct numbers. http://drivedundeeelectric.co.uk/multi-storey-car-parks http://drivedundeeelectric.co.uk/on-street-charging-posts The divide might be nothing to do with if you can charge at home. Plenty can charge at home but without a cheap charging tariff they are not charging at home. Public and workplace charging can be cheaper or even free. (3 prestige cars EV /Hybrids and an ID3 are charging right now free at my local Tesco and have been there so far for hours they will be there for many hours more. All have home chargers.) People get cars & vans cheap or free from their work / employer and might have no home charging. That are lots and lots of EV drivers. I am tight and charge free where and when a can and i could have a home charger more than just one that uses a 3 pin plug but that will be only used now in to defrost the car if even then. Loads of Disabled people or the family / driver in the UK now have EV's from Motability for under £10 a day and have no Home Charger Facilities. Lots of people not working / retired have PHEV's or BEV's and no home chargers. The divide is how much people pay to have an EV / PHEV and how much it costs to charge and can they afford them. Public charging cost is making some just run an ICE vehicle or PHEV if they need to travel distances in areas with crap public charging, or expensive charging or just not enough chargers for those now needing to charge cars when not near home, or cheaper than at home.- Preferred petrol engine
The 1.4 TSI 132 kW (180ps) Twincharger engine was in Mk2 Fabia vRS 2010-2014/15. Just give that one a miss but they are in budget. Out of the budget likely but a Fabia mk3 1.2 TSI would be a good choice, then a 1.0 TSI pre GPF (2018) So a later 1.2 Fabia TSI, or in any car / model after 2012. Or a 1.4 TSI with max 148 / 150 ps. A 1.0 or 1.2 MPI engine is KISS. Avoid a 1.4 TDI Euro 6 engine car even if it can be had for £6,500. - Fabia 5j 1.2tsi roof spoiler
