  1. If its working fine leave it alone. Time enough worrying about it if the problem returns. As it's just a car for local shopping runs a breakdown wouldn't be a disaster, as it may be on a car that you'd take on a continental holiday for example.
  2. "Not all DSG's need serviced at 40,000 miles, some are at 80,000 miles, and some not anytime." Yeah right!
  3. Much prefer the original wheels. Probably a better overall ride with them too.
  4. Had good service from them as well. Had timing belts done on TDI Golf and Tiguan previously. Their prices were better than local VW specialists. Small dealership which has undoubtedly lost passing trade with the A2 dual carriageway now bypassing them completely.
  5. I have a problem with the central bolt, which holds the clutch or shear plate, broken off inside the shaft. Is it possible to weld the shear plate to the compressor shaft? This would mean ac always on, is this likely to cause further issues?
  6. How do you find the 140 bhp remap? Any issues with reliability, clutch, turbo etc? What sort of mpg is it doing after remap?
  7. It's gonna be a commuter for my late middle-aged sister in law, power output is not a big issue 😆
  8. Any thoughts on the 1.2, 3 cylinder 69hp engine. 2014 so late mk2.
  9. When you think of the thousands, [millions?] of cars running about with low oil or that haven't had an oil change in years I wouldn't think a small quantity of old, high spec oil will do the slightest bit of harm.
  10. How many men do you intend to keep in your boot? 🤔
  11. My SIL has tasked me with finding her a car, Petrol, Fabia, not white, with A/C, up to £6.5 k are the parameters. So looking late mk11, early mk111. Is there an engine that is best avoided or recommended? Had the 3 cylinder 60hp 1 litre in son's previous Up which was OK but slow. He now has the 105hp 1.2 tsi in his Polo which seems a nice little engine. Personally I'd have the 1.6 tdi but this is not allowed. Views please?
  12. Well after driving the silver Fabia we test drove a Seat Ibiza 1.4 SE in gunmetal grey and it was this that she fell in love with and is buying. Virtually the same car as we know but no Skoda for now, although I do admire Superb estates...... Thanks everyone!
  13. It will be a 1.2 petrol as per my initial post, my comment was if I was buying one for myself, which I am not!
