  1. Important is about the last Skoda Main Dealer service was did they know their holes. Drain and fills. Arse from elbow. But we will never know.
  2. I have used bi-annual for years when talking about Skoda corrosion warranties. They have said over the years that the car needed 'bi-annual' inspections so at Major / inspection services which were when servicing was minor and major year about. Or major at 2 years / 20,000 miles. Important was, the warranty terms and conditions never said that just Customer Service HQ. Old service books had the inspection page after each 2nd service page.
  3. Some Skoda approved used car warranty is 2 years when bought with finance. That was not relevant. It was the correct service schedule I was giving 3 years / 30,000 miles. Unlike Volvo for Haldex and 2 years / 20,000 miles. Also that a Full Main Dealer Service history does not mean serviced to recommendations, guidelines or schedule. T&C in warranty says Recommendation.
  4. Skoda /VW service interval was and is at 3 years / 30,000 miles and that is them saying filter screen or filter replacement not required. If a Skoda Approved car had not been serviced to the Manufacturers recommendations, guidelines or specification they still put a Skoda extended warranty on them. You try not servicing to the guidelines, recommendation or specification and buy an extended warranty and you will be told the warranty is void / invalid.
  5. Plenty videos on what you do. Including ones posted in this section of Briskoda.
  6. They did those because they needed to but really an efficient TDI was the answer. There is a place near me with 6 sitting outside looking very sorry for themself. Look ideal for a conversion to an EV. It is very rare i see ones on the road.
  7. Memories. Sometimes a lovely story but missing the passage of time. The year 2000 was 25 years ago and 1975 50 years ago. There were new cars on sh!te tyres right through the past 5 decades and Michelin manufactured plenty in France or Dundee. Bridgestone horror shows have been getting fitted to small or large 4,X4,s for decades and still are.
  8. Was the Haldex actually serviced in 2020 and 2023 or since. That is before the fault then a Skoda dealership taking the Michael. Not just someone saying fully serviced. Is there a paper trail?
  9. Why does it have to be re replaced by Skoda only? Why can it not be diagnosed and done by a 4x4 specialist As far as it goes an independent or a Skoda specialist guessing what is wrong can be and has been expensive.
  10. Some models of BMW i3,s had reached £46,000 plus and they were selling or being leased. Motability were offering for £1,000 advance payment. They were and are a great car but how much profit on then BMW were making might have been the issue. Maybe like Audi A2,s an expensive built car ahead of its time.
  11. As far as part worn , used etc I give away tyres from every new car I get. I take off the rubbish tyres that the car comes with and sometimes within days and sometimes a week or 3 all season are fitted. The tyres coming off are left with the fitter to sell or give away. These are branded OME tyres and Summer tyres, well all seasons really standard UK fit not great in adverse weather conditions often even though like for like replacements might cost twice the price of a nice safe All year round in the UK including the winter tyres. I have over the years swapped tyres that are take offs for tyres that were take offs from other new or nearly new cars. Things are not black or white or the same for everyone. Being a regular customer at tyre fitting places that are local businesses for local people and being generous to the Christmas party or Tea tin can make a difference.
  12. ^^^ this. Electricity bought and paid for at chargers or home often much more than the cars electric use driving might show. Charging losses, different charging in cold conditions compared to hotter weather, heating car while sitting in charging or pre-heating while plugged in.
  13. There should have been an investigation when overnight the UK government dropped the grants for EV,s and BMW knocked many thousands £ off i3,s. The kidoligy with giving nice handouts was £5,000 grants and £3,500 grants so that people were buying over priced vehicles.
  14. I had seen at dealers launch and thought horrible. Now seeing on the road they really are rank. There was one that I had to get close up to see what it was as I had no idea seeing it moving fast off in the distance. It was all Black, car and wheels. PS. Was almost run into by a Brand new Toyota FJ in baby blue and white. It was too gridlocked at the carpark exit to go back to get a good look but as much as I could see it looked great. BIG.

When the MG,s were few and far between and not many on UK roads there were very high results in Surveys on reliability and I suspected Dealership staff filling in surveys. There does seem to be owners of some brands more prepared to share their experiences. Looking at WHICH magazine survey results on any kind of stuff has my thinking WTF about some results.

Just done 165 miles in the MINI, half 60 mph roads and half motorway, temp about 13-16 degrees C. No need for AC on which is only ever use in damp weather or very very hot. Had no heating or cooling as was in Green + mode, acceleration when ever needed. Cruise control set when suitable. The range is 20 miles more without the AC on. Got 3.6 - 3.9 miles to kWh. Charged after 75 miles for £10 to 99% and did 90 miles and arrived with 25 miles range. Cost was £2.40 for home charge and the £10.00. next charge in will be about £11 to 100%, but then before home likely 60 kWh of charging will be at nearer 69-79 pence a kWh.
  17. Such a dude.

Very sloppy from Car Dealer Magazine. Nice that they show the result as the British Built MINI Electric as most reliable. Yet they publish a picture of a Chinese Built MINI ELECTRIC Cooper SE. (No wheel arch trims.)
  19. True life for part of a day for a couple of BEV drivers and Youtube Vloggers. It can be a faff like this for any BEV drivers public charging.
  20. I have used TIGAR tyres on various vehicles, mostly winter or all seasons, but had summers on a Volvo. Tigar just one of the brands / factories Michelin own who also own ATS Euromaster. (&BlackCircles) At the desk i often get a price for fitted lower than the Website / Online ordering shows, or an offer of tyres they have in stock at the branch or for next day delivery.
  21. 1st April 2025 increased Public Charging tariffs. Do you know of any? Osprey Network increase is 3.8% tomorrow. from 79 pence to 82 pence a kWh. I paid 79 pence a kWh last week at MFG. 23 kWh £18.17, 3.3 miles a kWh 76 miles or maybe a bit more. (90 minutes max at a charger bay. a DPD Van driver was there only 55 minutes but was back taking pictures of the notice and was on his phone to them, they had charged £100 penalty as well as his 55 minutes worth of charging. Wright's Bakeries seem to be going into Filling station, replacing Greggs someplaces. Pretty good value IMO. Coffee and a Bacon Roll with a nice Bap / roll. £2.75. .......................... I might have to use MFG again tomorrow for being near Edinburgh Airport, or Edinburgh City Council Rapids @ 58 pence if i get on one that is working. 23 kWh would be £13.34 for 76 miles. Scottish Councils might well have increased EV charging tariffs coming in April or some a bit later in the year. 70 pence seems to becoming pretty standard per kWh on a 50 kW DC charger.
  22. I know what Skoda says they are, vRS and Monte Carlo, then you could have Eibach springs as an option and in the UK they were dealer fitted at the PDI.
  23. What oil was was used back when?
  24. ^^^ This. Unlikely to sort out slippage if it needs a clutch pack. ? How many km or miles has it done? & there are 2 oils. In the Box and in the MCU. As it is a 2010 DQ200 DSG is should very likely have had the Service Campaign carried out sometime from early 2014. That was changing the oil from Synthetic to mineral, and a software update. '34F7', There should be a sticker in the spare tyre well if that was done. No matter though, 11 years ago or at least a decade.
