  1. I will feel for those that ate them and were not aware of issues or recalls. Or that set themselves or others on fire to get back on thread topic. As for those that knew of issues or recalls and risk it for a biscuit, they are muppets and as long as it is just them that are harmed that is perfectly OK with me. Just do not waste emergency services or NHS staff time.
  2. Maybe HMRC since they are allowing Tax Payers money to be used to have Business Users driving BEV,s for less cash money by having any with vehicles with RECALLS or Warning about how to use get those vehicles in for the RECALLS. Or have the Manufactures that Imported or Sold vehicles in the UK with Fire risks move their lazy backsides and spend the cash and get vehicles off the road. Provide replacements until potential fire hazards are off the roads. Actually have them stored safely until dealt with. No point telling high mileage drivers only charge to 80% if they are going to ignore that.
  3. Should owners who do not care, ignore DVLA Recalls or advice from Manufacturers be allowed to take their vehicles anyplace. Car parks, multi-storey, underground, overground, wombling free. Parking at Heathrow etc etc. This is an issue, there are plenty that will not do the sensible thing. Should Porsche / VW UK be acting more responsibly?
  4. Or even just used as sold as to be used but are not 100% guaranteed not to go on fire. Like BEV,s.
  5. Porsche / VW Group & Porsche Dealerships must pay taxes in the UK on profits though. So something for the economy. Much about HMRC and Commercial / Business use vehicles is LEGALISED CRIME to suit some. Maybe the Government / HMRC can catch out those that do Tax Avoidance other than the acceptable way, organised or disorganised criminals etc that are Leasing / Buying new or even used. Loads of Cash Money, or just credit available and a luxury car and no visible or legitimate form of income. ............. This TAYCAN probably has the highest Social Media follwing. It should be call the 'Money Maker.' Certainly not 'The Widow Maker'. Or make you skinter. It must pay the cost of running it many times over by just appearing so much.
  6. They need to ban the likes of e-scooters / e-bikes or their Batteries being taken into Tall Building or even lower buildings. Maybe ban shops / repair centres for these being near any other properties. Also places where Motability Scooters are sold, maintained, stored or are taken into buildings will require legislation. So much to deal with where there are fire risks. ................. Some might need to choose. Burn to death or possibly drown.
  7. The Factory Fill oil in 2018 was certainly VW508 00 / 509 00. So that is the recommended, advised, oil they guide you to use. But as shown from the owners manual VW504 00 / 507 00 can be used. Just not by Skoda / VW Group incase a car was subjected to a WLTP test as it was imported into a country. There was a reason they went 0w 20 FS IV pre WLTP Certification was started.

@DSL Where you are best not. You would be replacing discs annually as they would be rusting that badly and as for Arnold Clark if you had to use them, then next to useless and if it needs recovered it is epic. They would even try to sell you Fuel Treatment as a special deal at servicing time.

Eon Next v6 Drive tariff is 6.7 pence a kWh for 7 hours and 25 pence a kWh standard tariff. You can fix for 12 months. I use this with my 3 pin cable and get 17 kWh at the cheap rate per night. When i had a Corsa Electric i seldom charged at home as i got free charging mostly and did 60,000 miles for £600 or so. I used the 3 pin cable plugged in to pre condition in winter. For cheaper out and about charging TESLA non TESLA is pretty much the cheapest Rapid or Ultra Rapid charging since you have 100 kW charging. 50 - 60 pence a kWh charging publicly is maybe double your home charging but with your home charge and then public for topping up you will be the same cost as getting around 45 mpg with a petrol car. 50 kWh @ 6.7 pence = £3.35 50 kWh @ 26 pence = £13.00 50 kWh @ 55 pence = £27.50 If getting 3.5 miles to a kWh then 50 kWh = 175 miles. £27.50 divided by £6.00 a gallon = 4.6 gallons. (132 pence a litre at present.) 175 miles & 4.6 gallons is 38 mpg.

@fabill Have you a home charger installed and an EV tariff for charging at home?
  11. If you are not going to use VW508 00 / 509 00 so 0w 20 FS IV But going VW504 00 /507 00 it need not be 5w 30 FS III it can be 0w 30 FS III Those are for fixed or variable servicing. But you need not use long life oil you can do fixed oil & filter servicing and use VW502 00. 5w 40 FS.
  12. Hillhold assist / hillhold control with a DSG does not require an e-brake. It holds the car for 2 seconds once activated on a slope with the brake pedal pressed. Holds between going brake to accelerator. AUTOHOLD required an e-brake. MK2 Fabia with a DSG and manual Hand / parking brake could have Hillhold.
  13. I understand places / MOT Testers not doing Pre-Mots anymore. The MOT is not a good earner of money as far as the hourly rate. If someone who;s car is their working vehicle wants an inspection to MOT Examination standard maybe pay the mechanic the rate they charge per 45 minutes of their EARNING time or even an hours rate not what a MOT can be had for.
  14. The Spec was changed by 2019 to VW 508 00 / 509 00 so 0w 20 FS IV but that was for Fixed or Variable Service intervals. Nothing to stop you using VW504 00 / 507 so 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III if you wanted, fixed or variable oil service regime. Or the 5w 40 FS for Fixed Oil & Filter Servicing. But Skoda / VW never showed that. VW 502 00.
  15. That is ok. If a TAXI / Private hire / public service vehicle it should be off the road untill road worthy again. Plenty have regular inspections by mechanics outwith statuary ones.
  16. OT, I had a loaner the other day, an ID5. I like very much, it was comfy. Did not love it though. I would like an estate though.
  17. Not so easy for all if Disabled. So that needs taking into account. If you have a Diesel then with Motability you get free AdBlue top ups,. you just arrange a time at a Dealership. Part of the MAINTENANCE CONTRACT with the MANUFACTURERS in the UK. DO NOT TAKE A MOTABILITY CAR ANYPLACE OTHER THAN THE TYRE PLACES ALLOWED OR DEALERSHIPS. HAVE MOTABILITY ARRANGE A COURTESY CAR IF SKODA ASSIST IS BEING HOPELESS. THE RAC ARRANGE THE COURTESY CAR, OR IF NO CAR YOU GET REFUNDS ON THE £75 a WEEK PLUS YOU PAY FOR A CAR.
  18. My car is from Motability. I do not mess about. I call Motability i tell them their car has an issue, i tell them the Dealership could not care less. They arrange for the RAC to get me a Courtesy / Hire car and for my car to go to a Dealership. They are dead nice and tend not to take crap from Dealerships if they need to deal with them. Your car does just get Variable / Flexible servicing so not to 2 years, or the 18,000-20,000 miles. Before all that i think you need to ask speak with the Dealership Principle. They get paid well for Maintenance, or actually not well for a Warranty issue.* Dealerships do well from supplying cars to Motability even if the lying BARSTEWARDS say their is nothing in it for them.* Motability are not liking adverse publicity they are getting and you are paying £11,000 leasing that car for 3 years, best not let a Skoda Dealership ruin the experience. I will make sure that Motability see this thread. Maybe tell the Dealer Principal about it. MAYBE NAME THE DEALERSHIP. SKODA UK CAN READ THIS THREAD.
  19. When is the car due a Service & how many miles has it done? Are you going to have Fixed / Annual servicing? Maybe just a caliper / brake pad sticking, but you need to get it in to be checked properly incase it is a Warranty issue. If you told them when you here the noise and yet the Technician or Fitter never put the car on full lock they are not someone i would be trusting. Was there anything done like a wheel taken off or at least a good look see? Best that you learn how to check the oil regularly. Engine / oil up to normal operating temperatures so you will have done at least 5 miles. Stop on the flat and after a few minutes check the dipstick. Plenty posts on here or in owners manuals if the area on the dipstick the oil should be showing on. When you know where the oil shows when hot you can check once the engine and oil is cold so that in the future you know before trips if you have enough oil in.

It is running with power off the cars 12 volt system is it not when the vehicles mobile. Like the phone charging , lights horn, fans etc and not the high voltage traction battery. As to when stopped how soon it will run down the 12 volt battery will depend on what it,s power requirement is. Someone can correct me hopefully..
  21. Those are really some amazing prices. Fuel treatment for a 1.4 TSI, and the brake fluid. As far as doing a service and oil change and charging extra because of it being full synthetic or them using long life full synthetic, that is nonsense that many places try on.
  22. I do not see as many of these around as I used to.
  23. @J.R. is fully fluent in the international language of love. English. PS. And his holes. Haldex and diff. We learn sometimes by unfortunate errors.
