New Speed limiter
A TESLA Recall in the USA because some cars have not been coming to a STOP at STOP Signs. http://bbc.co.uk/news/technology-60230072 The more safety tech in new cars and the introduction of Full Self Driving the more the Driver needs to be switched on and taking control.

New Speed limiter
'Any new platform'. Any New Platforms or Vehicles Skoda are going to launch in the next year or so will be Type Approved already. Someone in Motoring Journals or Motoring Organisations like the RAC / AA will put things in plain English soon maybe. Maybe even the DfT / DVSA / DVLA, Transport Minister or a Civil Servant. Mericans will not be helping UK drivers / car owners to understand UK laws or legislation. Maybe this is more of a help.

New Speed limiter
Is it not All New Cars Launched from July 2022? As in New Type Approved models / vehicles. Those already Type Approved would need to have them by 2024 if those are still in Production. Maybe i have read that wrong in the stuff i have read. You can only avoid the future for so long by buying cars now and planning to keep them. You can only go as fast as the traffic in front and around you & if you need to overtake then nothing will be stopping you doing that safely other than how quick your car is.. https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/news/driving-tech/mandatory-speed-limiters-set-for-uk-cars-can-be-overridden Future of transport regulatory review_ modernising vehicle standards - GOV.UK (3).mhtml

Enyaq Coupe launch 31 January 2022
http://drive-electric.co.uk/car-type/saloon Not that many will go looking for or buy a Saloon because they want one no matter if EV or an ICE if that means a car with a separate boot and not a hatchback. If that is what they can get in the way of an EV then they might take that. There really is a market for EV estates that MG and Porsche are not catering for really with just the lowest price and highest priced choices currently.

RECALL ?
@revnethThey contacted you so the person doing it can say RECALL, RECALL ACTION or whatever, a Service Campaign is what it is. Many are Skoda Secret Service Campaigns where the cars owner need not be told. Sad really how Skoda can have a VIN checker for owners that often is not up to date. If people that are Registered Keepers are not all contacted if a Dealership does not have their Contact Details and the DVLA in the UK are not asked for them then it is just a Manufacturers Recall. A Voluntary one and maybe some Dealers are keener than others to get vehicles in for some work / money from the VW Group. http://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall The day is coming in the UK that manufacturers will be required to do Recalls and especially Safety Critical that Manufacturers do not bother to make public. Service Schedule for 2022 vRS
As it was just a few years back and still is for some that want Servicing & Maintenance. Not that a Minor / Interim or Major / Inspection Service has much Maintenance
-
Servicing Advice
^^^ That is Oil Services. Many do not checks themselves if there are no Warning Lights or Measages, Low Oil, Low Oil Pressure, Low tyre pressure or loss of pressure, low screen wash, lights fault etc. Sadly cars in the UK and elsewhere will leave the factory with lights badly adjusted, get a PDI and maybe services for 3 years and then the bad adjustment is picked up first at the MOT. Same with tyres, inside tyre wall damage and the first noticed at a Service sometime. (That is inside wall not inside the tyre.) Skoda Dealers were and some still will do just Oil Changes and that was for a while advertised @ £99. Free Health & Brake inspection at the time. Then there was Interim & Major Services. Skoda just change names over the Years. It used to be Minor & Major when there were just Fixed Service Intervals.

Service Schedule for 2022 vRS
It might help people know what is what if people actually say or show if they are talking about a TSI or a TDI and how many miles / km they do annually. Then there are people buying a car and keeping them past a Manufacturers Warranty or those Leasing / renting them and handing back in 2 or 3 years which is what 'Flexible / Variable' servicing is really about as far as many are concerned.

Best looking VRS mk2
There are Police Scotland officers that would be making sure you get a NIP on the front reg plate not properly displayed and inside the car if you have no Tape or screws to fit it to the front of the car. These officers might well be north of Inverness on the NC500. They have been doing it often enough. Ps. Plenty Fabia vRS hatch or estates or just Fabias about that look like they have been in a ram raid through Demon Tweaks or Halfords about. Tarts handbag comes to mind.

Servicing Advice
How hard does someone drive as Skoda even with a vRS badge in the UK on public roads? Maybe In a parallel universe they take everyone else like they are a King. Taking on a track is a different matter. Everyone is free to spend their money as they like though.

Diagnostic fee before I know if it's free.
In the UK @ Participating Dealers of Fixed Service & Maintenance the first 30 minutes of a Diagnostics is £60. Plugging in getting codes and doing the diagnosis will take under 30 minutes. If more and their minimum charge is £125 then that will not be payable by you if it is a Warranty job. Plenty Dealerships 'staff' would rather put customers off having the car come in by putting fear of the costs involved. As it is the Service Desk Staff can have a grown up with Training check the TPI on the known fault. As for Updates / Enhancements that are part of Recall Actions and Service Campaigns they should be done at the Services.

Servicing Advice
It is a big mistake to mix up Oil & Filter Servicing / Oil Changes with Servicing & Maintenance and looking after a car, Brakes, Steering, Tyres, filters etc. DSG, Haldex, VAQ,Spark Plugs, Air or Fuel Filters are all service or consumables. http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/owners-and-drivers/servicing/service-plans/service-schedules.html You can use Long Life OIl and wait 2 years or 18-000-20-000 miles if you like. Or change sooner. But best not go 2 year from a car had a PDI before checking stufff or have someone that knows what they are looking at check / look. Then 2 year after that between with just a MOT being done annually. Not much is done anyway at Main Dealer Services at 1 year or 2 years other than look sees. Not much extra is ever done without you paying to have it done.

1.4 tdi coolant query
@CReese123Can you explain the first post please. Why were you topping up to check for leaks? Had the coolant dropped and was not staying at the lower level? Did your car get built after the issues with Water pumps and the Recall Action / Service campaign that the thread is about at the top of the section?

Service Schedule for 2022 vRS
Simplest is ask the Dealership Dealer Principle by email if the Service Plan you bought for £199 requires the car to be on a Fixed Service Regime & then the reply will be in writing and from a member of staff that should know and that later the Dealers Owners can not say we got rid of them, they were new here. Even if they do.

Service Schedule for 2022 vRS
??? Is it a NEW Car with a Service Plan or a Used car with a 2 Service Plan? No Service Book since 2013 so that is that. Really you need actual detail of what is what because there are other members that have posted and they got an Oil change year 1 and a look see & vacuum & wash. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486317-oil-service-schedule http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/491447-service-interval http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493555-service-intervals The new Fixed regime is Fixed with Extended Scope year 3. Variable / Flexible you need to ask about as nothing is clear to see but stuff needs doing & 3 years in the UK, pre Warranty Expiring for many, pre-MOT. The Brake Fluid is @ year 3 if you want then. If you are going 2 years to the first service then the Pollen Filter is due then.

Service Schedule for 2022 vRS
Get you plan in writing from who sold you it. ie. What is not included. (That is what they need to be giving otherwise they might be mis-selling and some are.) Is there a Pollen Filter change included Year 2? An Air Filter at 4 years / 40,000. Spark Plugs, DSG Oil change. What about missed stuff due at year 3 if no Service then. If a Petrol TSI or Diesel TDI then it does just need 2 oil changes in 4 years if under 40,000 miles is covered. IF LEFT SET ON VARIABLE SERVICING AS YOUR HAS BEEN. (A Hybrid needs more like 4 oil changes in 40,000 miles.) Not much done year 2 or 4, but you would want the Year 3 stuff doing. ? So it it servicing in your plan year 2 & 4 or just year 1 /9,400-10,000 miles and year 2 /18,000-20,000 miles. ???? So does the Service Plan not just show 2 fixed service services, year 1 & 2. Oil & Inspection services? even, As some get, Just an Oil & Filter Service & an Oil & Inspection Service.

1.5 TSI DSG : what fuel?
@plutus What country are you in? The fuel your car can use is inside the Full Filler Flap. In the UK the Petrol will be 95 ron Unleaded so now that is E10. (Up to 10% bio in it.) Or, Super Unleaded E5, so 97 or 99 Ron depending on from whoever. (Up to 5% Bio in it, maybe no Bio / Ethanol in some areas of the UK.) petrol.pdf

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
& now the UK not in the EU and the Average Co2 emissions not getting just put in with the EU as Skoda/ VW Ireland can.
-
Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
9,300 new Skoda cars sold in the RoI 2019 is the figure I can see. That is first registered as many are only sold to Skoda / dealers as new and then sold as used cars. Ex management. Fixing numbers just the same as happens in the UK. Some months in the UK more than in a year in Ireland.
-
Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
@Colmgaughan. What figure do you have for Skoda first registered in the RoI annually or all passenger cars? Skoda do around 85,000 first registrations annually in the Uk in a good year, and in the first 7 months of 2021 did more globally than in 2019 pre Covid. They did 64,700 Kodiaq deliveries globally in first 7 months 2021. EDIT. The statistics I see is less than 150,000 cars in 2021 or 2020 first registered in Ireland. That would be less than how many of just the top 3 selling model combined from Ford or Vauxhall or maybe VW in the UK. We need to look see how many Skoda are first registered in Scotland with about the same population of Ireland and that get right hand drive cars. Cars are first registered in Scotland that then go south to be leased etc. Same as can happen anyplace in the UK.
