  1. It is a 'Taxi' so tool of the trade, so what might be relevant is how many miles it covers in 10 or 12 weeks, or even how many hours does the engine run if it is sitting idling lots. Does it work day and night like many Taxi's do? Servicing is more than just Oil & Filter Services, which is basically an Oil Change. Servicing should be, servicing of consumables, so maybe Preventative Maintenance and inspection of parts, brakes, suspension, steering. tyres. wiper etc.
  2. The expert examination and report is important. 'Driver Error' is the usual response from the Manufacturers / Warranty Provider. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/456623-clutch-gone-after-4900-miles
  3. Lots to consider. Only done 18,000 miles but how many months old is the car? ? How often does it get used and how far do you drive and do you use the brakes much or do you maybe use the gears to slow more than the brakes. Do you live and park at the sea side or are you where there was lots of gritting / salting of the roads. When there is an e-Brake there is not the same way available of applying the parking brake a bit to clean off cosmetic rust at the start of trips.
  4. @nana welcome to the forum. There is a member that might be familiar with them. @camelspyydermight be along if he sees this.
  5. A new Charge Place Scotland Charger should be available to use soon. At the car park at the junction with the A77 & A719 at Turnberry. This helps with free charging in that area as there is also a charging at Maidens, then at Dowhill Farm / Shop & Cafe a mile South & then in Girvan 5 miles on at the Train Station & at the Harbour Car Park.
  6. @sneal I used to have contact with the Communications Managers and some of the Resolutions managers that had Technical Knowledge and that got things done back when the Skoda UK Brand Director was Alasdair Stewart & he had staff answerable to him that knew their stuff. That was before the VW Group UK started getting shot of them and replacing with 'Business People' that could knock back warranty claims. They have been through a few Heads of Skoda UK since Alasdair Stewart left the VW Group and they cleared out lots of the staff that were there doing their best for customers. It got to a stage that nobody at HQ ever admitted to having heard of an issue before and dealt with each as though something unique. It became like they Hot Desked and at each shift end they deleted their memory and cleared their laptop history.
  7. @fossman Kate Laws NVQ in Business Studies and time with the VW Group might be very good for panning people off for long enough but hardly means her technical knowledge is any more than a Dealership Sales Executive, maybe even less.
  8. There were faults in the VW's ICE and EV and they had to be addressed, Skoda is not getting acted on with the same haste as with the other brands.
  9. VW group need to get in youngster then to do the easy fixes because they seem to not be capable even though they are the biggest car manufacturers in the world.
  10. Are the wipers going into the Service Position, that is ignition off and flick the wiper stalk. They should go to the vertical for winter or changing blades.
  11. Is it, Car not Mobile. Can not be move? Is this not a similar warning to that with EV's, 'You are plugged in', as in do not attempt to start the motor while plugged in, or more importantly do not start and drive off? ? Or is there another warning about that.
  12. Why would a Call Centre / Communications manager with a NVQ in computer / keyboards know, they had to ask the technical department and nobody could be bothered with a wind up.
  13. Well there might be the rub. The dealer never checked, it could have been the Master Tech, a tech or a fitter, or maybe nobody really with all their senses.
  14. I hear and read all sorts of stuff about batteries. With such a small range on Electric i imagine many will be charging to 100%. The system installed by the manufacturers should protect battery life. That is letting you think you are using 100% when really you are just using 98% say, so later when the battery condition decreases it can take the full charge.
  15. You need to be on a slope for the HHA to activate. Also not just touching the brake pedal it takes more of a push. So you are probably not activating that. When you have Autohold off then the car gets held without moving for a couple of seconds. Sounds like not that being when you are getting the noise.
  16. Someone will know, but why not just leave charging to 100% having maybe plugged in with the 20 or 50% charge as the starting point when you get back to the charger? Electricity does not weigh anything like driving about with a full tank of fuel does if you really only need 20 litres for your journey.
  17. Hill Hold Assist holds the car for 2 seconds from brake to accelerator if you push the brake pedal hard enough. Look for the 'Autohold' button and you can have Autohold activated, or you can deactivate. Then you have HHA to help keep the car from moving.
  18. You have a short time to edit the post / title. If that has past a Mod can do it.
  19. Welcome to the forum. ? Do you have a DSG? If you put 'Auto hold' off do you get the same noise? ? If you do not activate Hill Hold Assist do you get the same noise?
  20. Autohold applies the brakes. HHA (HH Control) applies the brakes but just for the 2 seconds and just if you push the brake pedal hard enough, and on a slope. That is different from the e-Brake that applies just the parking brake.
  21. @pragmatix I will presume you mean a 1.5TSI petrol, so yes a 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG. Autohold will hold you on the brakes. If you put it off then Hill Hold Assist will just hold 2 seconds or so between the brake pedal to the accelerator. 'Autohold' should not be grabby. PS I can not use my right foot on the brake as i have no right leg. Autohold is wonderful, as is Hill Hold Assist IMO. I would try Autohold again and do not use the e-Brake, and not using 2 feet is certainly a good thing with a DSG or even an Auto.
  22. These work for mobile advertising and if you go up peoples street with this noise you will annoy about the same amount of people that the A3 TDI's howl does.
  23. Up till recently even at a 5 Star hotel like Trump Turnberry you needed a 3 pin plug charger with you. They were able to provide an extension lead!
  24. Maybe you are doing something wrong, but that is pretty hard to do. More likely you just need to do it differently. Not that it makes any difference but what DSG has the car, a DQ200 7 Speed Twin Dry clutch or a Wet Clutch one? ? Is it definitely 'Autohold' that you are using, and no e-brake being used, so you have Autohold and Hill Hold Assist both operating? ? Have you tried putting Autohold OFF, and just use the foot brake and Hill Hold Assist as needed.
