  1. Just to get it erected before you head off anyplace and near a garden hose if you can and see where leaks are if any and maybe then waterproof seams etc if needs must. As well as the tent i used a pop up XL toilet tent. I now carry Portapotty and the toilet tent in my Electric car now and have been glad i did during lockdown time when i have been able to be on trips. One like this. You get smaller ones cheaper than this.
  2. I have different, a tunnel tent and an airbeam tunnel tent that i could actually put the whole car inside. Sorry no pictures. This sort of thing, but these are for taking bikes into beside us. I do not put the poles in the ouside hoop just elasticated cord and tie down onto the car once i need to at night or if windy.
  3. @J.R. Gave you the link. Arpenaz Base M. From Decathelon. £99.99 now, the member that posted the picture says they paid £79.99 in the last posts of the linked thread. Still much cheapness a couple of years on!
  4. you can make the tent fit the car, just get the right one. Extra guy ropes, bungiees / bungee cord and pegs. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/278484-tailgate-tent Pictures from the thread.
  5. I used a reasonably priced tunnel tent with front windbreaks to reverse my estates, vans or cars up to and this was good for being able to drive away from if i needed to. Also worked for using the side doors up to the tent in some locations. There are more Roomster Camper threads and also Yeti ones. Some in the Project Sections. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/368177-the-roomster-motorhome http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/412482-converting-to-a-camper
  6. They need to get the Low Average C02 g/km from what are being first registered, hence the need for DSG's, then the Plug in Hybrids, and the small capacity petrol TSI's to soon be DSG only with Mild Hybrid. The Manual Petrol & Diesels days are numbered unless they can flog lots of those on the top line and lots of the EV's once Skoda can get production ramped up.
  7. Welcome to the forum. I have just one foot and only drive Auto's, DSG's, CVT's etc. Driving a Citigo ASG i was like you and used the Parking / Handbrake. I do this with most 2 pedal cars i get in until i know if the have HHC / HHA, Autohold or e-Brakes and how long they hold. (Not always going to read the owners manual if just moving a car or borrowing and needing to get on with things.) With the Citigo i just used the parking brake on slopes as i detected no HHA / HHC. Owners / Drivers here say they have Hill Hold Assist / Hill Hold Control. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/266622-citigo-s-asg-hill-hold http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/405986-auto-hold http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/423000-hill-assist

  10. Skoda did not do the 1.5 TSI with 130ps output so peoples experiences of a 150ps in a Skoda might be different including any that had the 'kangerooing' issue. A member here had a 130PS 1.5 tsi in a Seat and he reported no issues and was looking to remap it for a bit more go. To find out if there is much of a difference in performance between a 110,113 or 115ps 1.0TSI and a 130ps 1.5tsi is something best tried out by road testing the cars. Plenty in the Fabia, Scala, Kamiq, Karoq & Octavia section report good things about their 1.0TSI's. I have driven SEAT and Skoda models with a 1.0TSI and 7 speed DQ200 DSG and liked them and did not feel them lacking in power. That was not driving the cars with passengers and stuff in the boot though.
  11. @sthodgson Did you check the tyre pressures and adjust them, and what tyres are on the Citigo?
  12. Location, location, location. Ambient temperature and cars requested interior temp makes the difference. I turn on A/C in cars if i want to stop Stop / Start working if the A/C is handier to reach than the Stop / Start button.
  13. The rumour seems to be starting here. Maybe whoever at the dealership had heard of Graphene wax. That can go on any colour. Or Skoda is getting to use SEAT / Cupra's colour.
  14. A wee pull of the wheel to keep you off the edge of the narrow back road is not a bad thing. It does not take over control of the car. You can still steer off the road or onto the verge or in the ditch if you want to.
  15. It would be interesting to know what actually the Full Service History shows that was supposedly done at any services. If the Dealership that did the Servicing is a Skoda Approved Repairer then Skoda UK should be made aware. Re the likes of a RAC 82 point check. http://carbase.co.uk/news-and-features/car-maintenance/rac-extended-warranty-explained 'Audited at least 6 times a year to ensure they are preparing all vehicles to RAC standards.' so this will be a FAIL. I traded a car in at a garage and they had it advertised as soon as it was dropped off on their website, awaiting pictures, & with a RAC Inspection & Warranty, that was within the hour of them getting it. They had never seen the car before it was dropped off and the workshop was not open. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493040-mk-iv-ride-quality-far-worse-than-my-mkiii-is-this-normal-or-is-it-a-fault http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/479931-transport-blocks-again http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/449537-i-suggest-you-check-this-transport-blocks-left-in
  16. https://www.evo.co.uk/news/22326/mandatory-speed-limiters-to-be-fitted-to-all-new-uk-cars-after-2022 Lane Keep Assist will have to be on all new type approved cars from early next year along with other stuff that the EU has made mandatory. VW group do seem to be way off having the best systems that other manufacturers seem to have been able to adopt. Love LKA as is showed me just how often my mind wanders and so does my car go wandering off across centre lines. (Broken lines) It works fine for me even on country roads with no markings and worked fine on winter snow covered roads. I did put it off when there were untreated roads or black ice about this winter.
  17. @hetty1From the past stories over your last Skoda then this one it looks like if you did not have bad luck you would have no luck. The issue with car salesmen or women is they might be salespeople but that does not mean they know anything about cars or car maintenance. You bought a used car and got an Approved Used car warranty even though the Dealership or you have no idea what the previous owners had done. Then only you and the place you used knows what they did. As it is you have ended up with a low mileage car that really should be cheap enough to be given servicing and maintenance long into the future if it is done properly.
  18. Some were 'Simply Clever' and managed to stick with colours and design that still had people thinking Fags & Booze without being Advertising for Fags and Booze. Vaping & Nicotine patch Companies can maybe become sponsors, and we already get the energy drinks sponsor / owners.
  19. @jam1 Just nosy but did they give you 2 years servicing and MOT's in the deal? I traded in a bucket of poo to them and bought a used car and got all 'The special deals'. So first MOT in Ayr they fail it on stuff it failed on at the MOT before i bought it. There were the advisories on stuff, and their advice to fit new discs and pads and change the brake fluid, which was done before i bought it. They were unhappy that i said to replace the broken spring that had replaced the year before and keep it for me to see. Funnily they had changed it and the old one was in the scrap bin. Nobody at the Branch wanted to talk with me. They did once i posted on TrustPilot, on Social Media etc, the more i was unavailable to speak with them the more senior the muppets were that they had trying to contact me. I went in last year to order a new car and somehow the salesman that was like my best friend had forgotten me. He spent a long time with me getting me the best price and back and fore to the manager. He must of been ****ed when he came back after many of the visits to the manager and i had walked out.
  20. Get the letter off them then. Sir Arnold can not sign it but there can be as Sales Executive or better the Dealer Principal about that can. (It is only their day off when you phone if they really ripped you off. I like to phone on my mobile from outside to be told it is the persons day off, then go in and catch them at their desk.) What mileage was the Service done at if that was @ 2 years old? Was it done on the British Mainland?
  21. You are as well to brim it and then see what the actual consumption is over the next 100 miles or so. A bit early for a Air Filter replacement but looking to see how clean it is is worth doing. Do you want to leave it on Variable / Flexible Servicing. ? Was it a Demonstrator / Ex Management car? Surely they must have done some servicing before the sale to you. Registered November 2019 means the first Variable Service is due November 2021 even if it was in a Showroom for months. If due May 2022 then the service indicator was reset May 2020.
  22. Is it actually using 4.5462 litres every 18 miles or is that what the computer is showing it is using? Why not ask to talk with the Master Tech, not the Service or Workshop manager, a salesperson or the likes? ? What was the petrol you filled with was it a different brand from a different place & do you use 95 ron, or 97 or 99? ? What age is your car and how many miles has it done?
  23. You might as well contact them, in writing, on the phone, in person. Not sure what you want from them but if something in writing the Dealer Principal can give you that. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493586-mileage-total-is-this-correct-new-used-car
  24. Guest_ replied to DBSurrey's topic in Skoda Karoq
@DBSurrey, option is the correct term. Owners can have the option of using oil to the VW 502 00 spec when the TSI,s are on Fixed oil and filter service intervals. For the terms of the Manufacturer's Warranty they speak of the use of the correct fluids then fail to clearly specify clearly what the correct oils are. Since the WLTP & RDE was introduced and GPF,s they make it look like only Long Life oil can be used even for Fixed Servicing. Someone should ask Skoda UK to check with the Technical Department if it is the case that only Long Life oil can be used. If they say yes then they are causing issues for Main Dealers that have not been using it. For TDI,s it has to be to VW 507 00 or VW 509 00 for fixed or variable service intervals. Someone might like to find out the cost of a main dealership replacing a GPF. That is something they seem unwilling to discus.
