Mk IV ride quality far worse than my MkIII - Is this normal or do I have a fault?
Dealers do not forget to lower tyre pressures from what they are at from being in transit to strap cars down as dealers sit in showrooms. It is lazy incompetent techs or fitters doing the PDI. So if you find tyre pressures left over inflated call the Dealer Principal and get them to arrange the Master Tech to do their job and give the car a going over and check the Transport Blocks are removed and all is functioning on the car correctly. Too often now unsafe cars are being handed over to new owners. Sales staff are part of the problem with this as they do not pull up the Workshop manager or Master Tech.

My TPMS is playing up.
How about you do exactly that time after time after time and you see that does not happen.

My TPMS is playing up.
Instead of science I use a digital thermometer and know exactly what the heat gets to on tyres at the track etc. Plenty threads on the matter over the years. I know how hot a binding brake can get and how a rim can get hot. Sometimes when you leave a vehicle without TPMS just passing a side of the car can warn you of an issue. If a TPMS warning happens and it is not in a place where you can stop and check pressures it can be enough to just stop and feel each tyre or have you hand near the hub and see if one is particularly hot. If nobody ever had issues with warning of pressure loss but worries about random warnings then it is at least giving other issues you have a consideration as to if there are link. Less than 5psi differences can give warning on some cars and then checking with accurate pressure gauges makes quite a difference from looking at approximates.

My skoda octavia burning oil
@pastiche sorry but does that mean you have oil changed yearly or sooner if you do over 9,400 miles or you are on variable servicing so it could be 2 years between oil and filter changed. Either way is in on time but the difference is s each 12 months or as much as 24 months between someone else changing the oil. Still no idea what engine your car has.

My TPMS is playing up.
When you do track days and check and set tyre pressures cold and check them hot you might well be aware of how much difference the heat in the tyres make to the pressure and that can be between the front tyres. You might even see the tyres at different pressures before taking to the track. On track or on the road or like when you fit a spare of different size you can reset the TPMS and stop getting warnings. You can set wheels / tyres on the same axle at different pressures and set the TPMS to accept these and the. It will be a change from this circumference that triggers a warning

Inspection service
A 2 year old car getting a variable service or even the 2nd service if on a fixed regime is just getting an oil and inspection service and the extra at 2 years is a pollen filter. Any dealer overcharging on what used to be called a Major service is taking the pith. The 3-10 year old Fixed servicing prices for an oil and filter service and the Extended Scope is another mater. Separate oil serviced and Inspection Services is not required.

My TPMS is playing up.
It does not always mean a pressure drop. A wheel bearing or sticking caliper can have a tyre getting hot and the warning coming from the TPMS as there is a reading as flagging up a change in circumference. So with the pressures now set and the TPMS see how it behaves. And check a wheel / hub is not overheating when you do a longer or faster drive. When had the TPMS last been reset?

EV real world range and cost to charge
@Luckypants That is highly unlikely though. There will need to be quite a recruitment of maintenance / repairers. Then they will need to give a damn. The Call handlers will need to believe that chargers are not functioning while you are there watch users failing to be able to charge while the call handler tells you the charger is in use and operating. The issue is the likes of chargers already in that do not have the correct equipment @ hubs for taking a payment from Debit / Credit cards, like the newly opened one near me. That is in the Control Unit. Then i have seen inside the charger units and the wiring done by the installers. That is pathetic. Phoning the call centre is all good and well if you get prompt replies. Calling where charge hubs have very poor or no mobile phone reception makes contacting them rather a big issue. If you need to wonder around the area looking for someplace near with phone reception then you are not at your vehicle and the charger as you hope they can start it. The Green Unit is where the controllers are and this has not got what is needed in it at present to let people use certain cards. No notices explaining who the chargers are owned or operated by so none locals are left none the wiser. At least now there is a contact number but for 3 weeks the Big units are hit or miss if you can get the CCS to unlock so you can use. One head now broken. Then there are 5 stand alone Type 2 charger and some just do not work. Reported by people over and over again for the past 3 weeks and still the issues go unresolved. EDIT. 1 month on and charger unit still not repaired.

Skoda Fabia 2010 Powerless
@officialsfIf it is a 1.2 or 1.6 TDI has it had the 'VW Emissions fix' carried out. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions If so then that will need rolled back before a remap can be done. First the issue currently needs dealt with once diagnosed.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Real world charging and checking charging can be a PITA in Scotland, especially with Charge Place Scotland Chargers. So many out of service or showing as out of service on various apps. CPS,s own app is hit or miss as being able to get current info on chargers as available and in service. I have to collect someone from Glasgow Airport later tonight. Then continue south for further than the cars range if not charged before getting to the airport. Don't want to charge after collecting them. Glasgow airport charging with type 2 chargers is laughable. Some nearby chargers are not available because of opening times for the location or are faulty. I will pay to charge at the reliable InstaVolt charger at 1 of the 2 nearby locations. Scotland really needs to get it,s act together with availability of Rapid Chargers. Also have faulty / broken ones repaired ASAP. The new local hub to me should be great but sadly there are various issues and breakages and no actions being taken even though many reports are made to CPS.

Fabia VRS issues!
Looks like it is running pretty rich and at the right temp & not the usual one plug getting oiled & fouled & then cooked. The one plug does still get hotter than the others, Once the car has had the issues diagnosed, find where the coolant loss is from and have that rectified and it is running right it would be good to get it on 99 ron and once warmed up give it a good long run and get the engine hot and the plugs hot and then get them out and see what they look like. eg. No3.

Polo 6c Droning noise
They are not a common failure but they can fail. Your platform and components are really nearer to those on the Fabia Mk3 since 2014. They got the option of 215/40R 17's when introduced. (& Mk2 Fabia never got 215/40 R 17 as OEM on the Mk2 vRS but the sister cars as in the Polo Gti, Seat Ibiza Cupra & Audi A1 185ps did.) There have been Fabia Mk3 that have had failures, a member has a thread started just a few days ago about bearings. He is not a happy bunny. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/492699-unexpected-problems-on-my-fabia-3-combi

Polo 6c Droning noise
I would drop that pressures from the ridiculous ECO pressure for something that might have the car a bit safer on wet roads. Why would how want less grip / friction and less tread on the ground which is the only way the pressures could have the car use less fuel.

What is the upgraded air filter you have fitted? Where was the Water Pump replaced at, and is there an Invoice & receipt? Parts much cheaper now. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/415178-fabia-mk2-vrs-twincharger-water-pump-part-number-supercharger-clutch http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/452647-fabia-vrs-mk2-waterpumpsupercharger-clutch-part-number 'Skoda UK contact us' gets you what you want.

Polo 6c Droning noise
Did you drive the car on the 17" wheels and tyres before fitting the winter 15" and never notice the noise you hear now. What size tyres are on the 17" wheels, as in how wide, are they 215/40 R17's or something else. What brand and name of tyres and what pressure are they at?

Unlikely that steam cleaning would have cleaned it unless done with the Ignition Coils removed.

How to make Skoda Superb MK3 more cofortable
As pointed out to you from the factory the speedo over reads on OEM fitted tyres. The bigger circumference tyres will have the actual indicated speed nearer to accurate. Those that are used fitting and using larger tyres will usually know how much bigger has them not with the speedo 'under reading'. It is not rocket science and pretty easy to know what is what. The Tyre Size Calculators are good, but when you get tyres from different manufacturers maybe run a tape measure around the circumference of the tyres with them on a rim and inflated. Maybe compare different brands and types of the same 'marked sizes', and compare brand new ones against worn tyres.

New Octavia 1.4 Hybrid Estate.
The behaviour became the new normal for some. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/418033-is-this-normal http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/462169-admin-fees Well worth talking with a Dealer Principal at dealership and seeing if this is how it needs to be and can the same be expected across the Dealership group. With Arnold Clark sales & their other parts of their Network it is perfectly normal.

My skoda octavia burning oil
@pastiche You get oil & filter services done though. What engine do you have, & how miles do you do between oil changes and did the dealership reset the service indicator for you? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/492415-service-notification

Fabia VRS issues!
They might claim that Information is their property and Data Protection means they can not show employee or previous car owners information. The Car is your property and you have the right to the History even given that in 2010-2012 there were service books. You as the driver / owners have the right to know the vehicles details and history etc. For your and others safety. Skoda UK have played this game in the past and they are wrong. The DVLA should have been informed of a New like for like engine being fitted and when. You need to be able to answer questions if the Police ever ask having checked the car. You want to know the Engine Spec. Is it just an Original CAVE engine. Was the ECU supplied with the new Engine. (A 2010 ECU would not usually have needing replacing.) When new engines were fitted the owners were told to Service the car by the cars miles from new and not treat the engine like it was New with new spark plugs, oil and filter. I know from members in the past that asked Mitchel Skoda about replacement engines, were told they had no record now. All the best with things. ? Did you not look at the Header Tank level when buying the car & check the Oil Level? The engine fitted might well have the Breather Mod and the latest software, it could even be remapped now. It is not unusual that the engine replaced under warranty has been replaced again. Various members had cars like that. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/472431-fabia-mk2-vrs-cave-issues-and-tsbs Skoda UK and new engines. Honesty is the best policy, and Dealership Staff & Customer Services staff forget that. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/449229-new-engine-is-not-a-new-engine

Fabia VRS issues!
It is a Mk2 VRS that once failed on 0position / sidelights not working because of the tester not knowing the DRL,s were sidelights when less bright. ? How many previous Registered Keepers. Skoda UK / main dealers can give the history they have. Check if the original engine or a replacement.

Reg number ok on Ask MID for insured but not showing on DVLA MOT checker. Was it on a personal plate until recently?
