Campaign 23AX
@Ecomatt Would are you claiming for, as in what are your financial losses from buying and owing the TDI's that you had?
-
Campaign 23AX
It included Euro 5 Emission 1.6TDI's. So is yours a Euro 6 emission car from late 2015?

Skoda roof rack for ebikes
I have a Thule Cycle Carrier on roof bars to carry a light Electric Bike (14kg), no way would i have a 20kg bike on my carrier. One issue is i could not lift one up there and then get the first move done to secure to the frame or in my case the front wheel. That would need 2 people. This is not my Orbea on the rack, this is a Carbon Frame bike. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/483515-inno-tyre-hold-cycle-carrier

DSG Behaviour
@eksa Your 1.6TDI with a DQ200 DSG can behave totally different from a 1.0,1.4 or 1.5 TSI with a DQ200 DSG, then different again from a 2.0 TSI or TDI. Then we get to Mk4's with which ever Engine / DSG and even hybrid which can feel and behave even more different.

4 Wheel drive
They had ones that had knowledge and experience and an interest in cars. They moved on to pastures new.

4 Wheel drive
? Some Skoda Perth / John Clark Motor Group sales staff are not the greatest for knowing their arse from elbow if it was one of them.

Skoda Electric Models
@Luckypants Which flavour of ID.4 do you have, (Power / Battery) and what wheels fitted and have you found out yet the sort of range you can expect on your own or with people / dogs and stuff onboard? 3.1miles/kwh is about as much as i get on 60/70 mph roads on my own with roof bars / bike rack on and no bike, and winter tyres in warmish weather. Corsa, 100kw, 50kwh battery, about 48kwh usable. Then Charging just to 98% does not give a great range. So 3.3 about the best on 50/60 mph Average Speed Camera trips of 30 miles. 2.7 on Motorways / Dual Carriageways. Much less when colder and with a passenger or 2.

4 Wheel drive
They are with AWD and 2.0 TSI's or TDI's. They were Wet when 6 speed when more than 250Nm Torque or those over 150 PS in a Skoda (192ps VW) With FWD and 1.0 or 1.5 TSI's they are still DQ200's, So 7 speed Twin Dry Clutch. and with 1.0 / 1.5 TSI Mild Hybrids they will be e-DQ200's.

Not sure what Skoda model to get, Octavia A8 combi RS IV or Enyaq RS IV, location Denmark
Welcome. An Enyaq might suit you well. Even possible to do 1,000 km in around 10 hours if needed anytime.
-
Skoda Electric Models
I have seen plenty ID.3 & a few ID4.,s about in Scotland & all just a driver or driver and passenger aboard, no Enyaqs yet though. The cars Range Tests would be great to see with the equivalent of a 'Global Family' in the car, or even just say 4 full size adults and the boot brimmed & with the car interior heated or cooled to suit passengers in the car and not just a driver. Maybe even one with a towpack fitted and a bike rack on the rear with 3 or 4 bikes being carried.

Planning to Tow With a New Car - BEWARE
Skoda UK can tell Sales Executive what they need to know about 'new cars' and what can have Towbars for like just bike racks or not even that, or towing. (Grey Area of Towbars & Balls that can be fitted for Bike Racks but the car can not tow using this.) So no Citigo's any more as the UK limited them to 400 into the UK, and they were never approved anyway when ICE or EV. They need to know anyway if selling Used ones. Now the Mk4 Fabia will be having order books opened. They need to gen up on them. Before taking orders. Scala, Kamiq, Karoq,Octavia,Superb,Kodiaq & Enyaq. They will need to get to know their arse from their elbow and their Petrols, Diesels, Mild Hybrids / Plug in, & Full Electrics.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
That is the kind of thing that many might do, but might not be doing a quick top up while heading on to a destination that is not just a charger place. Some sit and think, many sit doing work while having a rest from driving, and some sit in their EV at times thinking and logging in and out of ZapMap & PlugShare and Briskoda etc. Some sit looking at Chargers Wars going on and the world passing by. Many just want Free Charging or quick charging they might pay for, and take their own hot and cold drinks and muchies. Take a portaloo and pop up tent for many chargers in Scotland because there might not be handy toilets like in Dunblane @ the very handy Tesco's. Many Charging Hubs are not near Shops, Toilets or Eateries in Scotland, but might be at a Park & Ride or Train Station and people bog off leaving their cars on Rapid Chargers. (A9 Electric Highway, they are having a laugh..) Spending what you save on fuel at eateries near chargers is not what many want to do when driving EV's. It can be like this in Scotland even with Charge Place Scotland, & Polar is just hopeless. EV Charging hubs can even be in places with no or poor Mobile Phone reception.

Fabia MK 2 max weight?
Were is it in the world you are taking this vehicle to high altitudes roads? The roads around the world have similar powered vehicles getting along the roads quite successfully. Have the car properly serviced, brakes working well and the tyres including the spare checked and correctly inflated.

Skoda Octavia estate, 1.8l, 2011 4x4. Oil problems.
The Low Oil Warning light or message can stay off for 62 miles. (yellow oil can) symbol) After being opened. Even if nothing is done! A Low Oil Pressure light might or might not stay off. (Red oil can) symbol) The relevant thread on this subject of oil use and eventually engine failure is pinned at the top of this section.

Fabia mk4 launch 6pm today (4th May) with launch details
It has not been given a definite no by Skoda for the future. They could have a Plug in or self charge hybrid sometime. They have a new Electric Rally Cross car and will have a EV Rally car. Skoda have big upped the success of Mk3 body shap R5's for log enough without offer the general public a proper sporty Fabia. When the introduce the Mk4 Estate (Combi) would be the right time to introduce a Hot Fabia. Take an Estate Car rallying and offer the public a AWD Hybrid Estate. (Room to get stuff in and passengers...)

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
Noo. too many get frozen up like Skoda Fuel flaps commonly do, and snowed up and who wants to sit charging facing a charger with the world going by in their rear view mirror. Common now to see a Tesla with notes on asking the driver to think of others and not leave them on the limited number of Rapid (Fast) chargers for hours on end.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
Over the past 12 days I have done 1,600 miles with all charging free apart from £1.77 on an InstaVolt charger, some public chargers in Angus and then the rest south of Perth. 800 miles covered in the last 5 days and on the last charge to get home. 1 have been pure dead lucky to get right on a charger on arrival. Charging places are getting pretty busy these days. My charging port on the near side rear quarter does mean you need luck getting to a charger that suits. Personally I would like charger points at the rear, maybe behind a flip down registration plate.

1.8TSI and 2.0TSI engine failures
That small percentage of a very large number of the Euro 5 1,8 and 2.0 TDIs, is a very large number of engines that the VW group pass off as a very small percentage. Sadly "honesty' was not VW,s policy so the size of the percentage is unknown. Long story short is that it is a lottery if you get a good one, a bad one or maybe a bad one fixed and now good. Other manufacturers to have failures, but VW group were caught out as the biggest cheats in the car / engine manufacturing industry. As for building lemons, they never admit their failings.

DSG Oil and 4x4 Oil change
The chart is about fixed services/ annual. So actually the DSG service is due at 40,000 miles which might be in however many services time for others looking at the recommendations as Skoda UK do not use the word 'schedule', so for many it can be depending on when the car gets to 40,000 miles. The Haldex used to be at 40,000 miles then VW went to 3 years, not even 30,000 miles. The Haldex might well need doing before 30,000 miles and before 3 years. Done properly that is, not just an oil change without a proper clean out. So change of oil and filter services on the engine oil and filter to variable if you like but be sure the DSG is being serviced on time, and be sure the Haldex is properly serviced and not as many Dealership Workshop employees think is acceptable.

Remapping
If the T&C,s of the Warranty is on Factory Approved Hardware and Software then you are only kidding yourself if you think you have a Warranty valid with the remap. Also committing fraud claiming on a Warranty if you claim knowing that you have had the mods then reversed the map to OEM. Plenty do it and get away with it, plenty are caught out. As it is any loss adjuster for a Warranty Underwriter checks and sees if you have declared a remap with your insurer. Having an undeclared mod like a remap is another issue as you void your insurance other than for 3rd party claims.

Skoda facelift DSG - any problems
@themanwithnoaim Your DQ200 was one that was part of the Service Campaign which is kind of important to remember. Great it was problem free. There were more than just a few that had issues as @logicleehad. Then there wer DQ200,s fitted to 1.5tsi that again required software updates that VW/ Skoda eventually gave in to carrying out. The greatest amount will be honkey dory, but buyers should be aware of the possible issues

- Change of Automatic box fluid
Maybe worth having changed, personally i would not be having it done though. The single oil used in the Wet Clutch DSG's is Hygroscopic as are many Oils / Fluids but really 7 years is nothing. After all, the 2 oils that the DQ200's have in from the factory are supposedly 'Filled for life'. But then the life according to VW can be short.- Coolant Leak
Hopefully when a mod moves your post to the Fabia section someone can help. - Change of Automatic box fluid
