  1. As well to look to see if it is obvious where there was a stick on balance weight and now there is not now. Also check the wheel bolts for tightness. Check the tyre walls on the inside of the car, ie the other sidewalls from the outside ones for bulges. ? While at it have the tyre pressures been checked recently and the TPMS reset?
  2. As well as that being a possible issue, maybe one or more tyre does need balanced as that is what you say in the OP that it feels like.
  3. Servicing and maintenance is to have a car fit for purpose and when going for a roadworthy inspection ready to pass as work has been done. A Skoda approved used car with a Full Main Dealer Service History should be showing a car serviced to the Manufacturer's recommendations and not a History of stuff not done when previously owned and still not done so overdue when a Skoda Dealership resell it.
  4. Sadly Build Stickers in a Spare Tyre Well has gone. Stickers in Service Books or Owners Manuals have gone. But Skoda are 'Simply Clever' and might still do Ice Scrapers and Umbrellas. So you need to use the VIN / Car Registration these days and know the colour and get the correct paint code. That is progress for you.
  5. Variable / Flexible is at up to 24 months and might be between 18,000-20,000 depending on if VW, Skoda, SEAT or Audi are giving the number in miles. You can do sooner if you so wish. You can do Oil Changes as Interim Oil Changes annually if you so wish, or have someone check the car annually or more often. It is all Flexible', or you can have it fixed. Once you get the Dealership Employee to show you what the 2 services include that you are paying to get free with the car then you will be sorted. Be sure the car is Serviced to Skoda Recommendations when you get it. So Brake Fluid has been changed, the Pollen filter was done at this or the last service, and the various 'Extended Scope' stuff was done.
  6. Skoda put Recommendations in the Warranty T&C's regarding Servicing and do not use the word 'Schedule'. That is in the UK. This must be something like Skoda recommend from 3 years-10 which is when there are Fixed Price Servicing & Maintenance & Participating Dealers. The DQ200 twin dry clutch DSG has 2 oils, in the Box and & in the MCU. Neither oils have guidelines / recommendations or a schedule for being changed. I recommend you leave well alone and be sure you have a warranty that covers the DQ200 DSG. It will not cover 'Wear & Tear' so Clutch Packs if they required replacing, it should cover the Mechatronic Control Unit' if it fails / leaks.
  7. The DQ200 needs nothing. The servicing might have been just once at 2 years. So if a Skoda Dealership is selling it with a warranty the Manufactured recommendation include the brake fluid change at 3 years. They include the AC serviced at 2 years or some say at 3 years. So if they want to sell the car with a valid Skoda Used Car / Skoda approved used car warranty have them do as the Warranty T&C,s say. Service to manufacturer's recommendations / specifications. Ensure any body repairs are to factory standard or actually better than to factory standard. If the next 2 services are Fixed Services so Annual or at 9,400 miles then good if you want that. Air filter and spark plugs due a change at 4 years. I doubt that is included in the next service or the one after, or the brake fluid change at 5 years or the AC service being done again.
  8. In the UK the issue is that Skoda might sell loads to VW finance or Lease Companies but they will be back in at Dealers and at auction and not so much in demand as used cars in colours that are available early on to catch attention.
  9. Sadly rust is still an issue with pretty new vehicles from Skoda http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/480016-rust Mk4 Skoda Fabia now launched or revealed but by the 3rd Generation Skoda had not managed to address a long term issue with corrosion in the same position as there has been for decades on various models. Hopefully with the new cars including the Enyaq they have sorted out water traps, and sorted out Main Dealerships understanding of the need to check and identify issues ASAP and make sure the Skoda Factories, Engineers & Designers are made aware. Also Customer Services in every country where Skoda's are sold.
  10. When there were Service Books up to around 2012 there was a page after each Service & Maintenance Page with the 'Body Inspection page'. The Services were Minor & Major services and when a car was at a Main Dealers the Body was supposed to be inspected for any damage and written up and the diagram marked. Body repairs were supposed to be to Factory Standard. Skoda UK tried saying that Inspections should be Annual or Bi-Annual etc. Try to say that if not being Main Dealer Serviced then not Body Inspected. Some Dealerships staff tried saying a 'Body Inspection would be £85 etc etc. All crap from Skoda. Skoda UK knows Dealerships are not doing Body Inspections yet Customers might expect they do because Skoda puts in Service Information that is part of Servicing. Skoda know cars were there with FMDSH and had yet nothing in the Book, on a Palm Top or on the System showing Inspections done. They know the Car Warranty, Paint & Corrosion Warranty does not have in the T&C's anything about a Body Inspection but their Websites for Minor & Major Services & them the Interim & Major Services say 'Body & Glass Inspection' as part of the 'Service Actions', that Customers are Paying for. So lots and lots of threads over the past decade on what Skoda do, what Skoda says and what owners need to do and what they might get. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473412-rust http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/479075-tailgate-rust http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/461124-2015-superb-tailgate-rust Skoda UK will try to hide behind the 'Perforation Warranty'. Well before 10 years the rust people show at half that might well lead to a Perforation'. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/449289-door-corner-rust
  11. Ok if just a simple coolant flush, but not if this. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/487819-bag-in-coolant/page/5 But then that is a ****-up from Skoda / VW and not simply clever or something that Skoda can just pass off as tough luck and not anything they need to bother about with a car out of warranty.
  12. The capability of a tank is just that, then there is what you can get up the tube. Then you can vent the tank. On a Fabia with a 45 litre tank you could have another 7 litres in with it brimmed and then vented.
  13. Since you personally put the AdBlue into the car and not into the phone you at least know the car has more chance of being right than a phone app.
  14. Wunderba, maybe just not in baby poo or horse shar,n. colour.
  15. They might. But considering how many or actually few tyre manufacturers there are in the British Isles there will be tyres required to come in from the EU and the rest of the world. That will not always be large quantity deliveries to distribution depots and wholesalers and retailers. So people will be still able to buy products from around the world in a timely manner eventually. If one business has to stop supplying another will step in to cater for the demand. That is how commerce works
  16. The cars are a very different width so using a tape measure against an Octavia and a Fabia would be a good start to seeing if the parts used from one on the other is viable.
  17. Timing chains and turbos are not a weak link the CAVE engine Twinchargers and the water pump needs replaced or not as and when it needs replaced. They commonly go at around 5 or 6 years and even at half the miles of your car has done. It might have been replaced previously and there is no record or maybe it is still the original.
  18. So the snow gates are closed on n the A93 today so All Seasons are a pretty good call just now and for me the winter tyres will stay on all year as they are great just on flooded roads like yesterday. Ner cast a cloot till May is pot. And winter tyres can do all year not just around Christmas. Tyres are not as appealing to thieves as puppies. PS even Sunny East Ayrshire,s driving conditions were rather crap yesterday..
  19. Spinning the tyres under acceleration should not be throwing up TPMS warnings, it is as simple as that. Yes a wheel might be turning more than the other for a number of revolutions but then that is happening with millions of other drivers and the vehicles do not think a tyre has deflated.
  20. ^^^^this. Call Skoda Assist. Let an AA responder come out and remove the transport blocks and let Skoda UK be aware of an authorised dealership that really needs an inspection by Skoda UK management.
  21. PS. Dealership staff might call them Recalls but they were not DVLA safety critical recalls. They were just 'Service Campaigns' . Really these should have been classed as Safety critical though. So heated seats. Also pre 2013 with some a Wiring loom in front engine compartment are covered by TPI, s. Might come up as Recall actions if outstanding. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions
  22. @jonboy77 what did you do, just spin the tyres and get a TC light flash and also get a TPMS light showing even though the tyre pressures were still at the pressures they were at when you set the TPMS?
  23. So an early 2012 car and a CAVE. The water pump if it needs done and when done needs the 2 belts done at that time. If the timing chain and tensioner is fine then no need to have changed. They were not the issue the same as came about with the CTHE can have. If the DSG never got '34F7' done between March 2014 and now I would leave well alone and not have it done. Check spare tyre well for sticker. And check with Skoda to see if the engine was replaced under warranty before 2015. No problem if it was but good to know if it was. Skoda main dealers can charge far too much to do the water pump or timing chain compared to a good independent VW specialist. Just be sure if you want these done purly as preventative servicing that you are not paying over the odds.
  24. There are likely other customers out with new cars cursing Skoda. The dealer principal needs to check who did the PDI on the OP,s car and see what else they did and signed off. Then they should personally call each new owner to apologise and ask the owner to bring their car in to get checked and offer to pay for their time and fuel or they can send the Master Tech and the fitter out to check vehicles properly including wheel bolts, pressures and transport blocks as well as coolant and oil levels. Too many incompetents are working in dealerships and not being supervised.
  25. All went well over the past few days and 600 miles covered. I just needed to use a InstaVolt charger for less than 15 minutes to be sure I have enough range to get to a good reliable charge hub. The £1.77 that cost me for a properly quick to use and properly Rapid charger was not grudged. Unlike the £4 charge to drive through the less than 10 minutes pick up point at Glasgow airport.
