Skoda Citigo - 1.00 Hilly country?
The other option can be a VW Up! With an engine with a turbo. So a TSI. Maybe even an Up! GTI.

Fabia VRS issues!
Welcome. First get the spark plugs out and inspect them. Keep them in order and photograph them. When was the 'water pump' changed if ever, and the 2 belts? The supercharger magnetic clutch can have the car going into limp mode and the EPC or Exhaust emissions light on or both, as can misfires with a plug failing . Misfires need to be enough on a cycle to log. You want the fault codes read and see if there are any codes other than 'misfires'. Hold off the timing chain and tensioner replacement until you see how things are with the new plugs in. New coils might be required but wait and see.

1.4 tsi autonomy
@Nny Does the 5 year old car have nice new spark plugs fitted set at the correct gap and a clear air filter fitted? Just drive it normally and in the gear required and see how it is without being in ECO. If you drove 410 miles / 660 km, how many litres is used out of that full tank is it 45 litres, 50 litres or just how much used from brimming to refilling? I would be expecting near to 450 miles / 724 km from 45 litres of 95 ron unleaded used., or better if just a driver in the car. Easily near 800 km for 50 litres if the weather is not that cold.

@twoladies Would you not consider an Electric Car?, so a Citigo iV if you can find one, or a eUp! or Mii electric. 2 pedal driving and plenty go go up hills.

@Kobayashi Why would your CAVE engine car have had '34H5' carried out which was for some DSG's built from 2013-2015? (Started in 2017) * Separate from the DSG Software updates, There were different 'Software Updates' on CAVE engine car ECU's from 2010 for the Excessive Oil Use, first an update, then with the Breather Mod another Software Update, (There was Breather Mod 2 carried out in Australia) then with the 'Oil Spray Jet' Upgrade yet another Software Update'. There are 3 externally different ECU's, & also with different Factory Software, 2 on CAVE cars, Locked or not locked. CTHE have different looking ECU's and with Different Software / Engine Management and there were software updates carried out on these from late 2012-2014.* '34F7' was the Service Campaign on some DSG's produced from 2009-2012, and involved replacing the Synthetic Oil with mineral oil and doing a software update. Late 2012-2013 there were DQ200 DSG's that neither got '34F7' or '34H5', the pinned thread at the top includes in later pages owners of these DSG's that had issues. This was when it started. Really - Self Driving Cars!
People are doing it now in the UK before it is legal to do it.

Space saver and no ACC
You set the TPMS. The car knows what the Circumference / Rolling Diameter of tyres once the car starts rolling and that is what it remembers. Then when a difference is noticed that will indicate a loss of pressure or a blow out that is what sounds / shows a warning. A change in Circumference / Rolling Diameter. That is with systems that does not show actual pressures and sometimes the heat of the tyres.

Subscription is the new big thing. There is a Lord of the realm that is investing in a big way with Subscription and vehicle renting. This is not being political because the Lord involved is not a Politician just a multi millionaire who donates and lends to the present Government and might be in the news quite a bit in the next wee while. Check out the Havisham Group & ELMO if interested. Lord David Brownlow is the dude. https://elmodrive.com Grant Shapps MP is the Chairman of the Tory Party Chairman & the Secretary of State for Transport. From 2030 it will be quite a change in what new cars you can buy in the UK. 'It is a Green Industrial Revolution' according to the PM. No connection to anything. Nothing to see here just move on. The public do not care about refurbishing flats.

Dealership service package worth it?
If it is All items and labour to the manufacturer's schedule and specifications it looks like as real bargain offer. But that would be very different from what you get in the UK.

I think Geely are pure geniuses. I loved Volvo,s of old but let's be honest when Ford were involved there were issues. If you had a Volvo at 12 years old when the steering lock / ignition decided it was time to self destruct or the alarm siren decided it would die and lock you out and disabled the car and locks it was a bit of a PITA. This is going to be the new Normal with many Manufacturers long before a lifetime which seems to be 8 years. With some it can be a week after the warranty expires.

Skoda Roadside Assistance
Makes things simple. It lasts until the first MOT is due in the UK and the Manufacturer's Warranty expires unless an extension was purchased before first registration.

Space saver and no ACC
Thankfully the ACC is disabled when a slightly different size tyre (odd one out tyre) on a spare wheel is fitted as the car should be kept to 50 mph max when on an emergency spare even if it has no warning sticker. As to the TPMS. That can be reset when a Spare is put on so that the warning does not sound or show for the TPMS, When the correct tyre / wheel is refitted and the pressures checked and set on the other 3 you then reset the TPMS again.

I am sure since you are interested that you will be able to get the TPI somehow and can find out if you want what the software update was that was carried out.

@omnipeta That dealership took the pith and were paid for doing the Fix without you having signed to accept it. Unless they had you sign your car in and slipped the agreement not just on Software updates but the VW Emissions fix. Personally i would have parked my car right where the desk is that the Dealer Principal sits looking at his wages and commission. Brake failure or some such error, must have been some software glitch.

'34H5' started in 2017 covers a number of DQ200's from 2013-2015 in many models / applications across the VW Group and there are those with Mk2 vRS that had it. Ones that did not require '34F7' which covered 2009-2012, then there was a period of DQ200 from Autumn 2012 that required nothing, then 2013 off we go again. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/425419-dsg-gearbox http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/425424-2017-another-dq200-7-speed-dsg-service-campaign 2019 in Australia it started all over again but seems to be more with vehicles missed previously from the first Recall & 2nd Service campaign there. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473186-another-dsg-recall From the 1st linked thread.

Skoda Roadside Assistance
Service Plans come with various Service Work being done for the price paid, So best look at the Servicing you want and that is in the Manufacturers Recommendations because Skoda do not call them Schedules. No point paying through the nose if it is just Oil & Filter & Inspection Services if the stuff like Pollen Filters, Brake Fluid Change at 3 years old. and anything else is at extra cost to what the Service Plane includes. https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/service-plan ? Are you buying the car and will it be a keeper for more than 3 years. The Extended Warranty bought before the car is first registered can be well worth buying IMO. When the car is already registered you can not buy until the Manufacturers 3 year warranty expires.

Hot Hatch /SUVs what's your choice
Now having seen the new Hyundai 'Kona N' CUV thingy with just 2 pedals in Autocar, i would like one of those. (managing to still be 3 points off a ban, so maybe not..)

? Have you already driven a Mk2 vRS and know how they drive and how they should behave? The CTHE from 2014 engine should be less of a worry, but they are still ones that you want to be sure about. You want to know that '34H5' was done if it should have been. You want to check the Warranty History to see if the car ever required 'Oil consumption tests'. You want to check it is the original engine and not a replacement, but a replacement would not be a bad thing.

Porsche Taycan
I am excited when Bob gets excited. The Taycan might not feel heavy like nearly all EV', but when you take yumps fast, but actually it still is and it is a wide car and really not that fantastic on great driving roads that are narrow when meeting others driving pretty spirited in another Taycan or wide vehicle.

My now 96 year old mum used to have Mk2 vRS's with her as a registered keeper when me and other family members drove them and she never. ? So is this elderly lady the actual and only driver? She was often the registered keeper of many cars we owned. Lots of checking needed. General buying a Mk2 vRS type checks. What Service History has it from Main Dealers. FMDSH shows what has not been done as well as what has. Check the 'Warranty History' as well. New Discs and pads are not expensive. Worn tyres not unusual, but is the suspension worn, wheels kerbed, needing work. ? Is the back box looking like it needs replacing? ? Did they get the Brake Fluid changed in 2017 and again since. If not that would be something you will likely be getting done. ? Where the spark plugs changed in the past or at this service? ? Air Filter or Pollen Filter changed at this service. The 'oil leak' needs to be clarified. Is it just the Sump Plug, is it at the Oil Filter, is it someplace else from the engine or is it from the MCU on the DSG. There was a Service Campaign '34H5' on some DSG's from 2013-2015. That was a software update because of possible leaks that could occur / pressure issues. That should have been done if required. Here is a 2014 CTHE car, one lady owner that got a new MCU. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/432730-oil-leak All Service Campaigns or Recall actions should have been done. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions

Hot Hatch /SUVs what's your choice
The latest class. It would be CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle.) Or a City Utility Vehicle like a Kamiq that is not a SUV or little SUV. Longer wheel base with passenger room and not just a high roof for the sake of one. Nippy when needs must. That is unless a proper AWD / 4x4 vehicle is needed as in the post above.

There are even adverts on TV. But then all sorts of Ambulance Chasers advertise on TV wanting people to claim for trip hazards and falls at work or in public where they are genuine claims or where they were just clumsy. If you want to claim because you had a Euro 5 diesels and somehow lost money then fill your boots. If the car was very economic and you got good MPG and longevity from the car and yet it polluted more than it should maybe give a few hundred quid to a charity for 'Sick Children'.
