  1. They stretched the Oil / Filter / Servicing time beyond the 18,000-20,000 intervals, but then the car was busy so that can easy get to 23,000 miles between services. See the EDIT, i did. I put it in the wrong place. The DSG Oil change should get done now rather than waiting another 4,000 miles or so and you paying for it.
  2. Welcome to the forum. That is some amount of punctures. EDIT. ********************* The DSG Oil changes were done past the 40,000 mile intervals. One is due now though to have the 3rd one at 120,000 miles, and not the 40,000 miles after the last DSG oil change done at 87,000 odd miles.
  3. @GreenMachine1.6 How much are they quoting and does that include the pollen filter being changed? In green are the Prices for cars from 3-10 year old at Participating Dealers. That is on cars on fixed servicing. then the Oil & Inspection Service and Extended Scope at each 3 years items that are the jobs that they should be doing for the money charged. Parts are extra. Diesel Fuel Filter replacements were at the 2nd major service intervals by VW Group recommendations, that was @ 4 years / 40,000 mile intervals not every 2 years. They have changed that now.
  4. It is a very profitable upsell for them which your 2 year old car does not need, not now, not in another 2 or 4 years neither. Nor does it need a service of the Air Conditioning .
  5. They really need to give 2 figures as a minimum allowing that they get to say what ever on ambient temps. Give the Unladen test results with a 75kg driver or whatever, and then at full revenue weight / gross max for the vehicle. That will be near to what buyers might expect to get as a range even when not carrying that weight.
  6. Not keen on some muppet in a garage workshop that puts a vehicle out without checking the oil level. But it is very very common. It is why the cars owners / drivers should not trust to others with Oil, Coolant & Tyres Pressures set or left by others. After Services be sure that things are correct and safe. If oil is not checked then you have no idea later how much is be used.
  7. Only those in the Magic Circle will know how they manage to be able to alter the laws of physics.
  8. More fiction WLTP figures. Heaviest of the various PSA cars by about 200kg unladen over the lightest e-208 / e-Corsa with all the same underpinnings, battery and motor & slower 0-62 mph time, yet the highest range figure given.
  9. You really need to check oil any time you collect a car be that new, used, hire or loan and from a service or repair. That is dip it when cold and before engine started. See there is oil. Then as all VW engines other than a 1.2 44 kw engine is checked. At normal operating temperature parked on the flat and after a few minutes of stopping the car. So as in the owners manual. That is other than any Skoda manual that says check when 'warm'.
  10. Over the years members here have commented on the tyres you have as being noisier than tyres that replaced them when new tyres were fitted.
  11. A Factory Design that they have because of the WLTP introduction and the chase for low average C02 emissions, so reverts to normal settings. Maybe not actually necessary for them to have done and not driver friendly but they thing since they are 'Simply Clever' they will do it anyway.
  12. The assumptions of different sizes that "will ride more comfortably." is nonsense really. Very much a generalisation. As people might find when driving different cars on the different tyre / wheel sizes. They may do but it depends on the actual car, the suspension it has, the load in the car, passengers and things, and the tyre pressures and what someone considers as 'More Comfortable'. There are reasons that not all buy the cheaper cars with narrower tyres that feel like they are on a 'Magic Flying Carpet'.

Keep the EV you go for below £50,000 to get the £3,000 grant.
  14. ? Since collecting the car have you checked the tyre pressures, and tried adjusting them up or down with a few PSI to see if that made any difference. & reset the TPMS. The tyres are really just scrubbing in now at 500 miles and there might be a slight difference once they wear a bit more.
  15. Perfect. Then if that happens and any remedial work needs doing i would buy a Skoda Warranty as the work they do under the Manufacturers Warranty is not covered longer than the life of the manufacturers warranty. Unless you pay some pence towards it. But once they have fixed under warranty, then there are no 'known issues or faults' So a Warranty purchased is on a vehicle that is fault free with the DSG. Sorry if that sounds contrived, but then Skoda UK and the Warranty Provider are the ones that can be 'at it', so you play the game the way they do IME.
  16. Good. Be aware that others that have taken out Skoda Warranties at the end of the Manufacturers warranty have had claims knocked back because it was said they had talked to Skoda Dealerships before buying the warranty and then they claim 'Known Issues'. Obviously this is ridiculous, so if any issue in the next 4 weeks be sure to get onto Skoda Assist and have the car uplifted 'as you feel it is unsafe to drive' incase there is loss of drive.

Priced from £31,085 according to the article @vrskeithposted in the other thread earlier.
  18. ? Is it still under Warranty so reported before that expires? Hopefully all is well now, but if not then that will hardly be a surprise as Skoda have not exactly advanced technology over 10 plus years of DQ200's, and you never know how things are after 3 years until 3 years passes.
  19. @GypWhat age of car with how many miles on it. EDIT. If this is a 1.4TSI then it is a DQ200 DSG as i posted about below. Sorry, i thought it would be a 2.0 TDI, The Fabia / Yeti & Octavia section DSG's with MCU issues are liable to be 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG's so DQ200's. They have a World Wide Recall excluding Europe in 2012, a Service Campaign on them up to 2012 in Europe, another 2013-15, then again a recall in Australia in 2019. Not many reports of issues from 2015 other than the Clutch Slip issues as in the Mk3 Fabia section, then the issues with the DQ200 with some 1.5 TSI's. There are software updates for that.

Sorry to see @moleyis going. The member gives as good as they get. As for a comment about members spending considerable effort to find ancient posts. Actually if you remember what you post and what posts / threads you read then it takes no time to find them. As Judge Judy says, 'if you tell the truth you do not need a good memory'. More than that, if you have a photographic memory then you do not need search engines.
  21. Sorry no idea. Never ever considered having one. But i have enjoyed driving self charge hybrid Toyota with 1.5 & 1.8 Engines. http://mag.toyota.co.uk/toyota-prius-plug-in-your-questions-answered
  22. I did not go for the top of the range as you did when i ordered my 2.0TDI 150PS / DSG (paddles were standard, and auto lights and wipers and reversing sensors) That was even though there was a great deal available on the 184 PS with leather in the 2nd or 3rd quarter 2016 on the one you got. it was about £1,500 advance payment before going much higher from then on. I did drive the salespersons demonstrator which was like yours for a few days, but i wanted the lightest, simplest and and most fuel efficient Alhambra to use as a van. No electric seats, electric doors, no chrome, no roof rails etc, and 16" rims to put All Season or Winter tyres on. That was exactly as i got because it was obvious the SEAT Test figures were fiction. They showed heavy cars being more fuel efficient as they do because they never want buyers going to cheaper more efficient cars. From 63 litres of diesel i got from 630 miles to sometimes near 800 miles on hill roads using coasting function. I had the towbar fitted & removed it before hand back. £900 Advance Payment with £200 of that for the tinted rears as a factory option. Motability wanted too much money for me to buy it and never accepted my low offer. They should have because it sold for less, but then the dealership that bought it have never managed to sell it. 'Never raced or rallied, but then its discs & pads were gubbed and needing replacing. Serious Corrosion from lack of use even though driven hard. The Interior & Exterior were and are as new. As for the Engine & Gearbox, they were well used but would last, as for the SCR system i doubt it will.
