So I went and bought a Jaaaag
That is why i posted the BMW stuff that they published. Some of us have noticed there is a pandemic that started in the UK in 2020 and has gone on until now.

BMW did quite well in the UK in 2019 where the population might be less than 80 Million and something like 1.6 million new cars are registered in a year. There is a 1.4 Billion of a population in China which is a very big number of people & lots of chances for BMW to increase sales there.

Ford Mustang Mach - E EV European Debut
- DM Keith - Importance of air con service vs brake fluid change
The 'Skoda Fixed Price & Maintenance price' at the time of a Service is now £65. Places can do cheaper if not 'Participating', or p!ss taking. The Brake Fluid is not included in 'Service Plans' unless one of the new tiered Service Plans. As the DSG or Haldex is not, or the front diff on the cars requiring that serviced. A car with a Full Dealer Service History, can just be the Full History of things not done to the Manufacturers Recommendations as they are not a Schedule according to Skoda UK in the T&C's of the Warranty with a New car or the Extended Warranty.- DM Keith - Importance of air con service vs brake fluid change
'Actually' It is @ participating dealers. Then, Cars on Fixed Service Regimes from 3-10 years old. The small print of Fixed Pricing & Maintenance is available to check on the Skoda Website. Best go to the Original of the Green Menu, or to the Skoda UK page.- 2017 Estate - Upgrades to fit towbar
@6by9 Welcome to the forum. Someone will be along that knows the answer to your question. ? Does your 1.6TDI CR have a DQ200 7 speed twin clutch DSG? I know about Skoda and the Prep to tow at the factory, extra cooling etc. The threads are in the different models sections. Then there are cars they do not give towing weights for like Mk1 & 2 Fabia vRS, or a Kodiaq. Then you have no Manufacturers towing weight, and can invalidate your Insurance fitting a towbar and towing & break the Law. eg http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/429261-dont-buy-a-201718-150ps-4wd-man-7-seat-if-you-tow But, Skoda gave the car a plate / weights and Braked and Unbraked towing weights. No big sticker or plate saying, this vehicle can not be used to tow. So some will buy the cars, fit a towbar and electrics and tow whatever they legally can in the UK.- Audi unveils its EV Porsche Taycan sibling
Vauxhall is the badge but the e-Corsa is built in Spain and is the lightest and lowest of the PSA group EV,s that are all on the same platform. It is the simplest with the most easily to use buttons and without much need to touch a touch screen with a left hand in a right hand drive car. So basically very basic and able to charge a not very big battery quite quickly. The MINI is a nice 3 door quick EV for getting around in and charging ever 100 miles or so on a journey. ................................ On Topic. It would be good to know if there are roof bars available to carry bikes on the roof or a bike carrier can be fitted to the rear. Then what the available range might be with 2 bikes on the roof and driving at NSL's. I have only seen Tesla being shown with bikes on the roof. There are some EV's shown with roofboxes though.- Audi unveils its EV Porsche Taycan sibling
The real issue with these EV supercars is not that they are Lardy, but they are wide. That wide that as some people driving them in an unsporting way on lovely hill routes in Scotland seem to struggle to stay on their own side of the road. That is if you meet them on corners or straights or if you are behind them and would like to get passed and up the road. I am hoping that Jonny Smith will be doing a vid soon on the e-Corsa that he seems to have been driving for a few weeks now as it has appeared on other stuff he is doing. The city shopper car can hold on on roundabouts at over 35 mph, just maybe not always with the crap tyres fitted as standard. This seems to be true of many EV,s as imported to the UK and even UK built ones.- Audi unveils its EV Porsche Taycan sibling
@cheezemonkhai if they have got them sorted wil that mean you will be adding one to your shortlist of possible EV,s you will go for?- Audi unveils its EV Porsche Taycan sibling
@cheezemonkhai So you never liked how the e-tron drove then when you drove one. Personally i was not one of the many that found them horrible to drive & rolling handling was not an issue on lovely country roads with rolling hills.- So I went and bought a Jaaaag
Having owned and revved V8's i must say those above sound like wet farts.- Brake DISKS and PADS size and which brand to go for????
@automass You have the engine oil and filter changed. ** You just do not have the DSG oil changed.** As no need to!- Brake DISKS and PADS size and which brand to go for????
SMQ is a 7 speed. You had best try your car next time and watch if it changes up from 6th to 7th when in 'D'.- Brake DISKS and PADS size and which brand to go for????
The car has a spare tyre well regardless of having a spare tyre or puncture repair kit in an insert.. If you can look & there is a Build Sticker with the paint code there is a Gearbox code there. Or someone can maybe check your VIN or the dealership will, the one that said your DSG did not need an oil change.- Brake DISKS and PADS size and which brand to go for????
You need to find out what your DSG is. Is there a build sticker in the spare tyre well you could take a photo of? I am amazed if your car has not got a DQ200 7 speed DSG when it is a FWD 1.4 TSI. I would go drive it and see if in D it really does not go into D7.- Brake DISKS and PADS size and which brand to go for????
@classic That is the wet clutch boxes and filled from below, run through the gears, taken to temperature, then the correct level checked etc. See the post by @krigl http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/439395-the-story-of-the-famous-dq200-clutch-slip/page/11 Down the page with pictures.- Brake DISKS and PADS size and which brand to go for????
@classic Obviously there is a filler plug for a DQ200 DSG. There was a World Wide Recall in 2012 which excluded Europe which is out of the world, it got a Service Campaign. That was to change the Synthetic oil to mineral using the drain plug and refilling using the filler hole, and there was a software update. '34F7'. Then 2013-2015 some DQ200's had the Service Campaign '34H5'. But there is no level checking when you change the oil doing it correctly and filling to the quantity required as some here have done themselves. @automass Are you talking about a 1.4 TSI & saying you have a 6 speed DSG, so a wet clutch DSG? MY BAD, & sorry i had no idea there were such Mk3 Octavia.- Brake DISKS and PADS size and which brand to go for????
@automassChanging the airfilter every year if not even dirty is your choice. You can blow clean an airfilter and not waste money un-necessarily if you want. 4 year / 40,000 miles or at 2nd services is pretty standard for them, but then checking if clean is advisable. A DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG has not oil change due at anytime. There are no manufacturers recommendations, guidelines or schedule for servicing a DQ200 DSG. (The 2 oil can be changed if you want to have them done, but there is no schedule.) Kwik fit should be checking the brake fluid for the H20 content before saying no need to change brake fluid. But then that is why not to use Kwik Fit fitters or managers for advice on servicing.- Skoda Service Plan
@macbun Does that service plan require the car to be on 'Fixed / Annual servicing' ? Because the Extended Scope is first @ 3 years & @ each 3 years. If you get a pollen filter done now at 2 years another would be due @ 4 years. As would the They will replace the Pollen Filter once @ no extra charge then since it is a bi-annual service item. If they do it. I doubt very much the wheels will be coming off when they check the brakes. But Skoda UK continue having that on the web page. The tension of visible drive belts is checked because obviously the Cam Belt is not checked, so 'all drive belts' is not accurate. Good to see now that it shows that the Body Inspection is done at the 'Extended Scope' so each 3 years, Skoda UK should not be saying if a Corrosion Warranty claim is made that there is no record of body inspections as they have been doing with some if not many. Body & Glass Inspections have been showing on the Fixed Price servicing on Skoda UK sites for years now.- Audi unveils its EV Porsche Taycan sibling
@cheezemonkhai Sorry but now you have lost me. How could an original etron drive like anything other than an original etron if an original etron.- spark plugs recommendation
@sepulchrave It was not my dumb. It was the Skoda Fixed Service pricing over a decade in time, maybe longer. They changed that starting 2020.- Skoda Service Plan
The Oil & Service Inspection includes the price of the Oil & Filter as done now. But the Pollen Filter is an extra cost. The Extended Scope does not include Air Filter, Spark Plugs which are extra cost. The Brake Fluid at 3 years is extra cost. ? So what parts replacement are they changing during this Service Plan?- spark plugs recommendation
When the Service was Minor & Major time about and even major and major 2 years apart the Manufacturers Recommendation / Guidelines and Fixed Price Skoda Servicing in the UK the 'Spark Plug' replacement was at the 2nd Major Service, so 40,000 miles / 4 years, which ever was soonest. The problem was this was the same with the Air Filter, and people could pay £269, then changed to £289 and get a Major Service at 4 year intervals and they were not changed. Some dealership did Fuel Filters at 4 year Service Intervals on a TSI or TDI and some only on TDI's and some never bothered, but the Service was still £279.- EVs, Your choice £30k - £40k
The biggest surprise to me was that you can still buy BMW i3 with Range Extender as i thought they were discontinued. Funnily there was no mention of how far the i3 went on a charge. (without the petrol engine charging the car if it had a petrol engine.)- 2021 / 2022 Plug in Hybrids. Company Car Tax might make them cheap this year. But!
