  1. Hill Hold Control / Hill Hold assist holds a car for a few seconds between the foot going from the brake pedal to the accelerator. 'Auto Hold' when enabled by pushing the brake pedal hard enough then take your foot off the brake & holds the vehicle by applying the brakes until you touch the brake or the accelerator even if Stop / Start has stopped the engine. Or you can move the steering wheel a bit. 'Auto hold' is different from a E-brake or manual Parking / Hand brake which just applies the rear brakes. If the car moves while the 'Autohold' is functioning the brakes get applied with more force.
  2. Welcome. ? Will you not have the 'Good Condition' payment of £600 coming to you when your current car goes back to help with an Advance Payment of £599 for a Seat Ateca or £695 for a Skoda Karoq DSG? A SEAT Arona DSG is on NIL Advance Payment this month and i find the seat height of those suited me as well as a Karoq / Ateca for easy in and out, only less room when in, but the sill height / width was more suitable for me than the bigger cars and the floor space and pedals were good. I use my left foot on the accelerator pedal in the factory position and keep my artificial foot next to the sill. The Hyndai Kona Hybrid is £499 Advance Payment.
  3. I have no experience or knowledge of the recent software issues Skoda's are having but someone should be along that knows all about them. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/484705-kphmph
  4. @Moiramounthaving cars serviced and passing MOT's does not mean that the springs and dampers are not well passed their best at 11 years old.
  5. @Capyboppy My specialist subject. Had 12 new cars from Motability.
  6. Best find where there is H20 getting in the car because all around where your car / area you will find vehicles parked and not dripping condensation inside. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/461611-water-ingress-passenger-footwell http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488226-leaky-karoq http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488212-poor-demisting http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/490523-poll-for-water-ingress-into-cabin
  7. @Capyboppy Welcome to the forum. ? Will you be posting in anyplace else like in the Karoq section?
  8. After September in the UK the 95 ron E10 will very likely feel just like 95 ron E5 unleaded and the Super 97 or 99 ron E5 as it is now and many will never feel any difference when just trucking around the same as all the other traffic. On the rollers the Dyno might show a difference on the 95 or 99 ron, but then people do not travel to work on a dyno. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/490693-e10-fuels
  9. New tech of all sorts is not good value for many 'Early Adopters', unless enjoyment of ownership comes into the being in there at the start. Not that anyone getting one 10 years after the earliest owners are in at the start. This is the start of Cross over EV's though & Estates, and Vans / People carriers with a bit more range and under £40,000 RRP. There are EV's towards the luxury end as there has been over the past 10 years, but the cost is coming down for those. Some people do not want 'Much Cheapness' or the best value vehicle in the range or class. For that reason you have Skoda, SEAT, VW & Audi. Now you can often get more with a VW for your money than you can with a Skoda. That is the game that VW are playing. You pay your money and make your choices, or choose something else.
  10. @Luei ? Who was this car first registered to, and where was it first registered. A company or named person. If a EX Motability owned car then it is the person leasing it's name that goes on the V5. It can be a passenger that leases the car and need not be the driver. How many registered keepers does the car show? If the car was a Motability one then at hand back and time of the MOT , inspection it was photographed for BAC,s auction website and before John Clark group bought it. The Perth Dealership Principle should be ashamed at the state of that car. Hopefully by tomorrow John Clark Group Directors know about this thread and will do the right thing and get you a perfect car. All the best.
  11. I really can not understand any comparison of Petrol or Diesels and EV's. If someone does not want an EV & to pay what they are costing currently then simply they need not get one. If someone is a business user and can understand the BIK benefit of an EV and low cost or free charging then the RRP / Price to pay of EV's might not matter. If someone is getting a vehicle leased, or maybe from Motability then they might look at what it is costing them a week / month / year to actually have a new EV at their disposal. With Motability that can be under £63 a week all in and a very low advance payment, and no fuel to buy if they can charge free. That is even for cars with a RRP into the lower part of the £30,000 plus bracket. Higher up the £30,000's and more advance payment is required.
  12. There are 5 year warranties on a Skoda in Australia, so there they know what customers want and in Europe what customers will pay extra for if buying a keeper. The cost if an extra 2 years manufacturers warranty is worth every pence (penny) when buying a car with a DQ200 DSG or a 1.5 TSI EVO engine. It might be a year or 3 or 4 from now until that can be shown as true or just wasted money.
  13. Welcome to the forum. The first issue was the person at the dealership that told you the oil use was normal when you had to top up. It can be normal if the level was not right after an oil and filter change, or with a faulty engine. What it was not was acceptable. There was an issue. With the car and the dealership employee.
  14. The extra 2 year warranty on a new car needs put on before the car is first registered in the UK and not when ordered from the factory. That is regardless of what a sales person says at s dealership.
  15. Dental Floss as in used for flossing teeth. Or Fishing Line. Strong Nylon thread etc etc Pour boiling water on the badge area first, or a heat gun low or a hair dryer high. The paint does look like it might have been painted before. Maybe the badge was replaced before so not stuck on as it was at the factory.
  16. Welcome to the forum. It is very possible that it is something that the salesperson needs to go see the Workshop Manager about and get rectified. If you do a search you will find the threads in the Mk3 section which are often about the passenger side and the door seals and wet floor. There can be drivers door seal issues at the roof and the cause of water ingress. If this sales car is just wet because of them opening the door to move the car then they can get it in and get it dry properly and then spend some time watering the car and see that there is no further problems.
  17. @lol-lolI got a reply to my comment on the range in the review. It says, "Might be worth contacting the WLTP test team then. Our tests are done with real-world usage, in all types of roads-all cars undergo-the-same-testing methodology, too." Maybe they actually put people and luggage in cars and try them in all weather on all road types then managing in the time to get around the country and find freezing conditions in the summer and scorchio conditions in winter.
  18. I posted on his Vid comments. That is 130-140 miles at motorway speeds maybe getting no regen. If you did get 5 adults in and stuff in the boot that might be what you get on 60 mph roads when you get regen. No way an Adult with legs will fit behind a 5ft 10" or more driver. No way 2 Child Seats and a booster seat will go in the rear. He fails to say that ECO is 80ps or so and Normal 110 ps. and your car with more than a driver will steam up in ECO. Currently around town in temps between freezing and under 10*oC i can get 150 miles plus. At around freezing or below 2 up it is a stretch to get 110 miles on 70 mph limit roads. ECO is not the best to get range, Sport can be and get regen. The steering gets very heavy in town in ECO or Normal & in B. Better to go in Sport and then just use the shifter in B to slow down as though dropping a gear, or leave in B in stop start traffic and then out of B to get a move on, you still get regen as you coast to stops. A MG EV is a nice drive. Not a patch on the e-Corsa / e-208 on back roads with the tyres changed from the crap Michelin Primacy 4. As to 0-62, the not ECO tyres fitted give a good 0-62, or Traction control off, or better is 2mph -62 mph. or 2-70 mph. Roll it an boot it, because there is 260 Nm of torque.
