@TDI190 So a Workshop Manager need not be a Trained or Qualified Motor Engineer / Technician / Mechanic. Which has always been an issue with Main Dealerships. VW Group training is what matters.- Mysterious Coolant Loss
@TDI190 Who at the dealership told you that, was it some drug dealer in getting their car serviced? If it was the Master Tech i would have them put that in writing with their name and sign it.- Impending vRS 230 purchase (pre-FL)!
@Ads230You say your have always run 99 ron, but the BP Ultimate is 97 ron in the UK. It used to be 98 ron but that was discontinued long before 2016. As it is the Super Unleaded is Minimum 97 ron and minimum 99 ron, and ooop north those putting cars on a dyno or with switchable maps will often have winter spec Super Unleaded kept for Special Days / 1/4 miles RWYB etc as it can be from Continental Europe and be as good as 100 / 100+ ron. It can be as good as running 102 ron Hiperflo IME. I used to buy 25 litres of that for high days and holidays & £72 a time.- How much for?
The person that is involved with making and selling Sump Guards was a member of Briskoda.- Full service for newly bought Mk1
? What do you mean by 'full service' ? Are you replacing all fluids, so oil, coolant, brake fluid. Is it a service of the engine that includes replacing belts, are you changing the fuel filer, air and pollen filter as well, are you stripping the brakes to service them?- HELP - Rear Badge Replacement
9102 is Brilliant Silver & sometimes Diamond Silver, 9156 is also Brilliant Silver. Model & Year important. Not so 'Simply Clever' or even just simple. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/40776-silver-paint-code http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/363779-paint-codes-9102-v-9598-v-9156 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/233768-vrs-silver-paint-code- HELP - Rear Badge Replacement
@OneSlowBoi What is the actual Paint Code on the Build Sticker in the spare tyre well or the Service Book if you have one?- So I went and bought a Jaaaag
As i stick to the NSL these days as a max i find that grrr is of little importance and that flooring the throttle occasionally with nothing but road noise is enough now. Nobody is really impressed much by other peoples grrr really within or beyond the NSL's, especially if it is in residential areas or even the beautiful countryside where the best UK driving roads might be.- So I went and bought a Jaaaag
A BMW 330e is worth a drive IMO. Not a M car obviously but as engaging as a 335d x-drive, just not as sure footed.- Impending vRS 230 purchase (pre-FL)!
Royal Dutch Shell & Greenergy are not putting more than 5% Bio if there is any in the 99 ron minimum V-Power Nitro + or Tesco Momentum 99 for delivery in the North of England and Scotland and the winter formulation from October to April will have less Ethanol if there is Ethanol because it is hygroscopic. Greenergy is producing and delivering the Esso Super Unleaded in parts of the UK including Scotland. 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1).pdf 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1) (7).pdf- VW ID.4 SUV EV

http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-56245666- VRS TSI oil temperature
That is not high if the ambient temp is above freezing. Just as long the normal oil temp is showing in the low 90's and your over 100 temp drops as you drive less spirited all is well. Remember and check the oil level is at the higher level as the car does the first 5,000 km. Do not rely on Warning lights or messages. Check the level when the oil Is at normal operating temp, so above 80 degrees indicated when engine off and parked on the flat. PS, maybe drive your friends car and them drive yours. Not all people drive the same.- Kamiq Is It For You
@Carlston Surely about time that you tell us what cars you drive / own and what tyres it is that you fit and run on your own cars. All this theory and experiences of others and from 'articles' that you post about tyres and handling must surely be sometimes based on what you fit and use, or is it all gleaned from the internet rather than your driving experiences?- Kamiq Is It For You
Re Michelin Primacy 4. They really are a terrible tyre and ones being fitted to PSA EV's & other manufacturers EV's and Hybrids to give better range by the poor traction / grip in the dry and terrible traction in the wet or cold. ECO tyres, regardless of what the label on the says & not ECO as in price. Michelin Pilot 4, are a whole different discussion though. @LondonKamiq What you have is a 1.5TSI / DSG that VW Group / Skoda had to change the mapping of to sort your the issues they were having. So now regardless of the tyres you fit, even if you fit the stickiest you can for using on the best of roads on warm days you are stuck with what you have when you mash the pedal.- Driver’s seat height advice please!
@Angell I know that the Good Condition Bonus can take time. Last time i handed back it was 5 months before i got it because they did not believe my car was handed back. I had a few times to tell them the pictures were taken, the car was sold, which dealership that the car was now at and advertised and they still messed me about. But you mentioned contacting them to see about help with the Advance Payment. If you do not qualify from the Fund to help with Advance Payments then they can maybe see about ensuring the payment for the good condition is coming to you promptly. Since 1977 i have had 12 cars from Motability including 2 i bought using finance from Motability back when they did that to buy a new or used car. I have also bought and sold Ex Motability cars since 1980 when the first Automatic Mini's went on sale at the end of lease. All the best with it. ? Is a MG EV not a possibility for you. That is If you could have a Charger Installed at home which is free. They are pretty good for easy in and out / seating position. Free EV Public charging in lots of Scotland, but then that depends on where you live.- Increasing wheel Overall Diameter by 4.9%
A BMW i8 does produce a good bit of power when both the engine and motor are at full chat and is a fair bit quicker, and much the same kerb weight as a Superb 280.- VW ID. 3 (rear wheel drive) :First Drive by Fully Charged. Youtube vid.
If they build a van they will sell / lease lots and lots, if they build an estate / van they will sell lots, and get magazine / social media coverage. If they actually build a ID. Buzz and get it out with customers now then that is after years of showing images and concepts. If they build a convertible that is wonderful, but it would be better building first what there are customers waiting for,- View car computer history related to service and service intervals?
You are not invalidating a Warranty servicing to the Manufacturers Recommendations / Guidelines, they do not use the word schedule. The Inspection & Service is a mix up of Skoda / VW's making. There is no 'Inspection' the car goes in for without a Oil & Filter change as well. It was Minor and Major Service time about, then they called it an Interim service and major service if Fixed / 12 month services, and a Major each 2 years. Now it is a Oil & Inspection Service each year and Extended Scope done on each 3rd year. If the Service Indicator is on Variable Servicing and you want to service each year then there is no issues doing that. The car uses Long Life Oil and can go to the 18,000 or 20,000 miles between changes, or do it each 12 months if you want.- Ordered Dec - Order Not yet accepted at Factory??
I had Arnold Clark order a car for me, not a Skoda but a Fiat and they played me along from the 16 weeks to the extra 5 weeks it would be, i was waiting to arrange insurance and trying to find out when the car would actually arrive. The particular model was being discontinued but the offer at the time was when still available with the engine and gearbox i wanted as far as the AC offered showed. It was finally Fiat that were able to tell me the order never was placed and if it had been they had discontinued production before i had been at the dealership. I had the £500 deposit returned and 12% interest for 5 months on that. Not enough but then i had borrowed a demonstrator and was not returning it until the money was in my account. (At that time i was borrowing the money from Motability Finance to buy the car as a keeper rather than leasing from Motability and buying a car not on the Motability approved list.) @Scot5 you are a cheeky troll. You really need to cool some of the nastiness. I worked in Car Dealerships. Last SEAT ordered at the combined Skoda / Seat dealership was in 2016. Last i tried to get a new Skoda order in was July 2019 in time for November delivery & the SEAT going back. Last new car i did order was in November 2019 and it was handed over in August 2020 because transport stopped with lockdown when it had left the depot and then it was held in another one. The OP came here asking because the Dealerships after ordering Customer Service was pathetic. If the lead time was 25 weeks at the time of order the sales department at the Dealership knew that. They chose to not bother saying incase of a loss of sale. Or the Sales Executive did. Skoda would not say a lead time over 26 weeks, so 27 weeks or longer as then orders would have been suspended.- Thompson & Potter Ltd - Perth
Good. I hope a new seat belt is going to be fitted. The least that should be expected with that. Proper bodywork repairs to the Factory Standard or actually better than a Skoda Factory Standard. This is for the Corrosion Warranty & Body Inspections as Skoda tell people they should have done when they knock back Warranty Claims. It is a Used Car. But it is a 'Skoda Approved Used Car' that has supposedly had Rigorous Workshop checks, and you pay a premium for. I hope the car has been serviced to the Manufacturers Recommendations / Guidelines. So the Brake Fluid changed at 3 years, and the other service items that are part of an 'Extended Scope' Service @ 3 years.- What Kind of Service do I need? Skoda Kodiaq 1.4 Auto Petrol 4x4 3 years old, 36k miles.
Welcome. Ask the Dealership Service Staff or Service Desk Manager what they are going to be doing for the money they are quoting. ? What was done on year 1 if the car was on Fixed Servicing? ? What was done in Year 2, 18,000-20,000 miles was a 'Major Service' as they called them in 2019? The Pollen Filter change should have been done then. That 2 year service would have been the same as the 1st year service other than the Pollen Filter being the extra thing done. Skoda do not show what a Major Service is now because they stopped calling them Major Services at the first 2 years and the next 2 years. They went to the Oil & Inspection Service & each 3 years the 'Extended Scope'. No Diesel Filter to change on a TSI. Brake Fluid change is at 3 year and then each 2. There is the DSG Oil Service due at 40,000 miles. So nearly due. Spark Plugs could be at 40,000 miles, so nearly due. The 4x4 Oil Change needs to have the Screen / Filter cleaned, be sure that is getting done. Done properly might be more than £85.- Ordered Dec - Order Not yet accepted at Factory??
The Dealer Principal needs to explain to you where it all went wrong, is it their ordering, or is it the factory where it went Pete Tong. Best speak personally to them, and get it in writting. You should maybe be bringing Skoda UK Customer Services onboard with the co-ck up. - Mysterious Coolant Loss
