  1. Enjoy your bike and the forum and welcome I think the battery actually slips out easily to allow charging indoors, and anti-theft. That will let the Bike Rack arm go there. There is a Cycling / Health Section on the forum and an e-bike section.
  2. On a step through it is common to be able to put one arm through the rear triangle and the other are near the top of the head tube & forks in that triangle. ? How heavy is your e-bike and can the battery be removed to reduce the weight when the bike is going on the rack? Top pic. This type of rack still has a bike maybe too high for Height Restriction Barriers but can mean that you do not need a Light Board and number plate with the bike carried. They are not cheap racks though if you can find a suitable one. Bottom pic. Cheap universal rack and using the position that the arms might be used on with a step through bike. Bike is still high though.

  4. I understand fully. But then you drop to S and you are down at least one gear, maybe 2 and you are still in Auto but in S. If you need a lower gear you need to go to D then knock across to M. Exactly as meant to, great on back roads, point and shoot, decelerate off the accelerator. It is a Semi Automatic hence the S-A. Knowing across to M has you in the same gear, then you can drop as you might want or need, 7 to 6 to 5. Personally i never do the upshifts in 'M' i knock back to D for that and the gear shifts are not having it revving high in the gears. That is the beauty of the DQ200 DSG and revvy engines, you use the box as it suits you best and according to which engine it is fitted to.
  5. Well past time that there was one. That will be just what many trades people, couriers etc need instead of the pathetic Light Commercial EV's. I spotted the MG EV as an Estate on the Motability list this quarter and thought that was an error as the e-Niro shows as an estate. It is going to suit many people, especially those that might need to be able to carry a wheel chair / buggy and have a hoist. Much cheapness on the Advance Payment. The hatch is even cheaper at £0.00.
  6. I never find it slow to down shift with a DQ200 using the shifter, it is the way i always do it, as i never use the paddles or even check if a car i get in has them. I like to know the shift has been done.
  7. The gear shifter can just go to manual and drop one gear at a time as you wish & then knock it back into 'D' rather than shift back to 'S'. In 'S' it has 6 gears and changes up at a higher RPM, in manual you are just dropping from 7 D to 6 D etc. D back to S to decelerate is very handy, especially in winter, off the accelerator and D back to S and no or less touching of the brakes.
  8. It is not a problem. But high oil use has been in 1.5 TSI's in the first 5,000 km. So until you see best not mix oils IMO. If near a service using a different spec, but in the first months of a manufacturers warranty i would not, but then i have experience of dodgy TSI's. PS Oil to VW 508 00 / VW509 00 is not the same spec as Oil to VW 504 00 / VW 507 00. Check oil regularly when Driving in a new car, and check from collecting the car and know where te oil is when hot / operating temp and when stone cold. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/470865-oil-consumption-15tsi-dsg http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/468008-oil-burning-karoq
  9. I would not mix the grades topping up. You can go to 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III at the first Oil & Filter service. That suits Variable and Flexible Servicing. I would be changing my keeper to Fixed Servicing and going VW502 00, so 5w 40 FS. But then i believe in long lived TSI's and not using Long Life Oil or Servicing. PS No way on modern engines would i do a 1,000 mile oil change on a road car. Maybe worth letting the car do 5,000 or more miles and it be driven in and changing the oil & filter if it is your car and you are keeping it for a good few years. Read the Owners manual.
  10. The Brake Fluid change is a Recommendation or Guideline, and only 10 years ago that was first at 2 years then each 2 years. So you know how and where your car is kept and driven so can decide if checking the brake fluid annually is all you need to do. As to the A/C, there you go, by knowing what you think, so VW Group recommendations / guidelines are just something general that they let people know about. Pity that They and Dealerships are not so hot on letting owners or even desk & workshop & sales employees know more about Haldex Servicing.
  11. VW Group TSI's & TDI's since the WLTP arrive with VW508 00 / 509 00, so 0w 20 FS IV. Not particularly thick at UK winter temps. But sympathy with cold engines, gearboxes, bearings, brakes, tyres etc is 'Simply Clever'.
  12. It looks very much like the Software Issues that had VW delaying the delivery of the ID3's was just a bit beyond them actually fixing so they said 'that will do, get the cars punted and eventually we can get things right vorsprung durch technik, why change a habit of several lifetimes!'. Hopefully Skoda will only release the Enyaq when fully sorted having learned for the VW mistakes.
  13. I have given my meter readings to SSE today and changed to Octopus with quite a saving even though the SSE tariff was quite good for the past 2 years. Not going on a tariff for EV charging as not doing that at home currently. I have no home charger, but do have a 3 pin cable and might do in the coldest weather. I do usually heat car interiors with my Greenhouse heater when parked up. Real world as in just a driver and 1 passenger nothing carried or very little in the boot / rear. The real real world is maybe put 4 or 5 in the car and luggage that might be carried getting people to a flight or cruise ship. http://
  14. @john999boy Yes, just get a £20 card or use the App & free charging for non Scots & Scots from Scotland or anyplace else. We are all Jock Tamson's bairns. Plus the EU splashed the cash and Scotland gratefully accepted it. http://chargeplacescotland.org
  15. Clearly it means you did 450 miles over a period of time. I look forward to see just how much his jolly cost in charging. I have done a good few 450 miles in a day trips so far. Still only paid out under £13 for charging on the day the roads and carparks were badly flooded around and south of Perth. So they had the 2 drivers. They charged at a high price Ionity Charger in Perth according to him, these are 4 x 350 kWh chargers, so paying 69pence/kWh, or 66 pence via Chargepoint, 73.1 euro cent with Maingu membership. This was 1 mile further on from the 50 kWh chargers free at Perth Park & ride and where the Tesla chargers are.
  16. Not only is the Haldex Oil change due at 3 years. You want to know it is not just the oil being changed. It is not 30,000 miles, but some need doing before 3 years or 30,000 miles. Especially if your car is a keeper. The Brake Fluid is first due @ 3 years then each 2. It can be checked for H2o content. The A/C service is up to yourself if you want doing.
  17. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/293145-dsg-issues-or-even-real-problems It will be interesting how it goes in an Irish Court. Ireland still being in the EU who are told what is what by VW. ? How has this been going?
  18. Doh. The introduction.
  19. No idea about your RPM. Come off the motorway and park and turn off the engine if Stop / Start has not. The engine is designed to be off when stationary and the pump deals with the cooling if necessary, you will hear if you listen and things are doing what sitting letting an engine cool used to..
  20. You just need to start with doing some driving on UK roads out and about in winter i would say. If the roads were open in the hills then my iQ went the same places as my Jimny could and in the event of a crash was likely safer with all the air bags. It handled snowy & icy roads very well. The difference was the Jimny could go on roads that were closed.
