  1. I have asked in the comments section if he has checked the tyre pressures of the e-208 & then the e-Corsa before commenting on the dynamic handling. Waiting to see his reply. I am surprised that he prefers the Sports seats of the e-208 as he is a bit of a chunky monkey like me and the e-208 seats in the GT were not comfy and held me tight in the wrong places when driving a long distance.
  2. @Darren65 Welcome. Neither will have been standard fit and provided with your car. Skoda penny / euro pinching on MY21 models. The Brochure if it shows they are standard with your model says they can change the spec and they often do. If they were specced as options by you then ask the supplying dealer where they are.
  3. @pope Welcome to the forum. You were driving a Skoda not a VW so no idea why VW should warn anyone. Skoda should have a big warning sticker on the car so drivers are made aware.
  4. @Yeti5L14TSI You can do what you want to save money as long as that is OK with your insurer in your country. No point going smaller diameter for a Yeti so you want the same or maybe just a little bigger. http://tyremen.co.uk/tyre-size-calculator
  5. @Davidabz There is nothing wrong with tyres from different manufacturers on the front and rear. ? Are they the same sizes, speed / load ratings? Approved used cars might even get supplied with one tyre from a different manufacturer or even more than 2 different manufactures might happen. The car can still be a 'Skoda Approved Used car', which counts for little other than they have checks to see no finance on them and 'Workshop checks' to see if safe supposedly and yet maybe not Serviced tote manufacturers guidelines or schedules but yet with a 12 or 24 month warranty on them. ? Has your car had the Haldex Service carried out at 3 years old, or the brake fluid changed at 3 years, as per Manufacturers Recommendations / Guidelines / Schedule?
  6. Diesel sales are greatly reduced and the push is on to get the Mild Hybrids sold & the Full EV's. Skoda are not going to be selling many Citigo EV's in Europe if any, and sold 400 in the UK before discontinuing them and there is only going to be 1 other EV for a while which is the Enyaq which you can not even order yet. VW is up and going with the ID3 and the ID4 is not far behind. VW like Skoda producing parts for the brand and turning out vehicles that can sell. If the demand and waiting list for Skoda exceeds production and there are very long waiting lists then the VW Management board are getting things badly wrong.
  7. This is where some very nice cars head on a Sunday if not going further north to drive the A93. http://classic-car-tours.com/sunday-worship Croftamie. G63 0EU For McLaren owners in 2021. £16,995 per couple with your own car. £21,789 with a rental car. https://cars.mclaren.com/gb-en/experiences/lifestyle/mclaren-highland-drive-2021
  8. Or to spin it the other way. VW Group want more sales globally from Skoda in the markets where they are not able to sell them cheap enough. The Premium thing is just not really doing that well.
  9. If the driver wants to get you off their tail they will have to go Volvo though. On a coast to coast you will get there can have fish and chips and meet them on the way back as they will be charging a couple of times at least.
  10. I do not think VW claim anything just as any manufacturer does not be it EV, Petrol or Diesel. They give the WLTP figures. So as we know to get the WLTP results you would have to be driving as on a WLTP regime. To get 211 miles or more from a ID3 you might have to not exceed 50mph, have the AC off, drive a route that gives re-cooperation, not fill each seat with an adult, or even each front seat. You might then get 260 miles or even more. I can get 220 plus on a car that the WLTP has at 209 miles range, but an also manage to only get 150 miles. So EV's are much like if driving a ICE vehicle. eg
  11. @Dale_Stevens That would be Simply Clever if someone was to do exactly that and the thread pinned to save the similar posts eveyr year on the same subject of winter or all season tyres or different tyre sizes for a Yeti. There are 17" Tyres on there and the OP has a 2011 Yeti. So an original model.
  12. Drivers of non Skoda think that both are driven by older people and in the main are not wrong.

  14. Skoda is very much the poor relative of the VW Group and VW have penny / euro pinched with Skoda and drive down the standard equipment that comes with Skoda's. The only thing is the price of Skodas do not drop and there is less value for money on offer at the lowest priced vehicles on offer. Stupid RRP's in the UK as with SEAT and then the need to be giving discounts to get some models punted, so no change there with the VW Group. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/474623-skoda-to-become-more-of-a-budget-brand
  15. This is more like Offroad in the UK. The thing with many offroad courses is they show going through dirty water with solid underwheels ground, when you want to see having to go into and through and out of mud. Sucking you in mud. Articulation and ground clearance are another matter. If a vehicle lets you disconnect the sway bar it is a pretty good idea to do it, like you can on the Jeep.....
  16. @PetrolDave Any forecast of Frost in or around Devon must be going to be very localised, and ground frost, or maybe inside a refrigerator or some weather forecaster has been smoking something. EDIT, Apologies, i see that Sarah Keith-Lucas is saying 'There could even be a touch of frost in the countryside' while sweeping her hand generally across the bottom south west of the UK. Maybe the Met Office & the BBC has invested in a distributor of De-Icer, Pre De-Icer and Windscreen blankets.
  17. Simple weather factoids concerning driving. When you listen to the weather people you might well hear the temps in towns and cities. Towns and cities tend to be where the weather is not at it's severest. Like near water, sea, rivers, lochs. Apart from a few places you build, villages, towns and cities & airports where the weather is generally warmer and least prone to fog or freezing fog. Then they give the Air Temp, that is taken about 2 meters above the ground. So you want the 'Grass Frost', or Ground temp. That is what the tyres are driving on, the ground / road. The Grass Temp / Ground Temp might be 5 or 5 degrees C below the Air Temp. & the Road temp even lower when measured by a sensor. Hence you put down salt at around 6*oC when there is moisture there to have turned to brine. Black ice might occur on roads when the air temp is above freezing temperatures given by the weather people or even 'Ambient Temp Sensors' on vehicles. As the sun goes down it may not take long for the road temp to go below the air temp by quite a few degrees. With a frost the road can stay at a low temp when the daylight / sunrise has happened. A shaded part of the road still moist from the day or night before can be where the Black Ice will form even if the air temp near is high. The season is changing now in many areas. Fiddes just above Stonehaven on the A90 will have some of the lowest 'recorded' road temps quite often in winter without having the lowest air temps. Bottom an example from l lunch time December 2019.
  18. For my 15kg Orbea Gain e-Bike i have this roof carrier. This is not the e-Bike on it.
  19. @Dale_Stevens On my bikes the Clamps are usually used on the seat posts not on the frames. Dropper posts, So clamp on then seat dropped down on top. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/466857-thule-velospace-xt-2-bike-carrier-anyone-with-experience
  20. @farty I have seen heavy snow as well in the furthest north of the mainland. It is not common, or are very low temps. Location location location and an island nation. It can be colder in the Central Belt than in the far north. Sometimes i pop off to the region of the North Coast 500 for a bit of spirited driving and have to remove my vest.
  21. @farty How long have you been up in Bettyhill now and have you had winter conditions in the past couple of years? PS Plenty low temps nights and mornings south of you already this years, and some snow fall high up, and maybe some this week end on higher roads. Nothing that will worry a great granny in their Audi S1 or Nissan Micra though. PPS Instead of a spare tyre in the car put in 2 all seasons or winters and if you are stuck out instead of using Snow Socks stick a pair of Tyres / wheels on till you get home.
  22. @farty You drive where i drive in Scotland and i might drive the same places or not, but i have had Winter & All Season tyres on cars in Summer and in the heat wave like 2012 in the North East & elsewhere were it was over 23 *oC in Feb & March before the day i was in the Snow 24 hours later. I have the Pictures doing spirited driving around the A93 & A939, then the next day driving through snow and blizzard conditions. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-17512701 The tyres do not melt, the handing on great driving roads is not crap and if it rains the Winter / All Season tyres an be better than Summer tyres. Scotland is not the Alps, but there can be good weather and the winter tyres can last well for a few years / thousands of miles of all year use.
  23. My rack suitable for the weight of 2 e-Bikes is rather expensive and cheaper ones are available. It is pretty heavy to put on and take off and store / move about. Lighter ones are around. @silver1011 Has a rather good one i seem to remember. He might share pics.
  24. http://paulchensystem.net The picture of the rack on the Citigo is from a 3 cycle rack thread in the Citigo Section and i made a guess and googled paul chen cycle rack. On google images there are similar, but at over £400. The type of rack used on the rear of VW Transporters / Camper Vans that have flip down trays to sit the bike on might suit with some adapting.
  25. The Rear Diff and the Haldex Unit should not be confused. (The diff oil can be changed as well.) Several threads in various Sections on the Haldex Oil Change and Filter clean, and guides. Good one here. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/483229-how-to-change-the-oil-on-a-haldex-5th-generation
