  1. Doh, an Idiot driver has thought 1 & 2 were faults and has not understood that these are French / Spanish Features / Characteristics designed in to keep muppets like me on my toes. 1. Heating steering wheel that is not available while the car is on charge will decide when to enable it's self to function after coming off the charger. How long in minutes or miles will be chosen by the car. 2. Once sat a while after having been driven the 'possible range' might increase a bit or might not, but like lottery numbers the chance of 111 coming up again 3 times in a row soon is anyones guess. Manana. Tomorrow will be another day and another chance to find other features or characteristics,
  2. ^^^ All M+S marked tyres are not 3 peak marked. 3 peak Winter Certificated tyres will be M+S marked. Then Michelin CrossClimates are a winter certificated summer tyre. As Michelin say. http://news.michelin.co.uk/michelin-launches-first-summer-tyre-certified-for-winter-use http://michelin.co.uk/auto/tips-and-advice/how-do-i-care-for-my-tyres/winter-tyres/what-winter-tyres-should-i-choose/how-to-recognise-a-good-winter-tyre http://oponeo.co.uk/blog/winter-tyres-don-t-rely-on-the-m-s-mark In Deep Snow & Ice you want studded tyres or chains and some vehicle that Skoda do not produce as they do not do the clearance and have vehicles more suited to ploughed roads / tracks.
  3. Hard to believe that Skoda have a designer for new Scala and not just a photocopier.
  4. I am going on journeys over 150 miles and am starting off with 98%, no longer going to 100%. You can get to 100% by starting a trip with down hills and re-cooperation. They have the cars set up so that later in years / mileage when the range drops the battery / software will give back range. This week i was as low as 11% before a charge and then 9%. Using usual charge places i would have got to with about 20-25%. Also this was because the lack of available chargers that were working, so moving on to let others charge, and needing to charge sooner because i had a bike on the roof which really affected the cars range. That was 300 plus miles ago and there is something out of sink now, but i will see just what by tomorrow after doing another 150 miles.
  5. 'Faulty'. Maybe just a glitch that will sort it's self later. Yes the range is based on how the last miles you drive. I have done 3,800 miles since the 10th August so got the hang of it. But it has stopped working that way and is failing to show over 111 even though after a few miles of driving that would start increasing to a true indication of range. So for now stuck on 111 until it drops to 105 miles. 111 miles range with 60% and still 111 when charged to 98%.
  6. There is so much info not given on the wheels / tyre sizes. To see if the wheels fit over the Calipers why not try putting a wheel on? Measure the Wheels / Tyres on offer next to the ones on your car before trying to fit the wheel.
  7. No. 1 Heated steering wheel light on the wheel not lighting, and not sure yet if the wheel is actually heating correctly. (Not surprised really as it was far too hot when working...) Possible No. 2. Noticed the 'Range' seems to be staying on 111 miles as max when charging even to 98% the last few days. Need to see next time i go for a few miles drive. It has been pretty much showing 150, 180, 190 miles up to now from anything like 90-98% charge. So the 2nd Frosty morning of driving it and there was the need for de-icer, and the use of heated seat and steering wheel. (Not that cold that the interior heat would have cleared the screen in a few minutes.) Car heated quickly inside and heated seat and steering wheel worked. Did a few miles of toasty driving, stopped to charge car to full before going on a long run later and now no Heated Steering wheel 'Light on' Car showing 111 miles again as the range.
  8. Plenty good & reasonable priced 'all season' all weather, winter time tyres available in 17" that do well in Winter. Threads / reviews on most of them in the Tyre Section of BRISKODA Forum. Bigger size... http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/461444-short-winter-tyre-complaint-thread http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/459700-avon-wv7-snow http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/382657-maxxis-ap2-all-season-tyres http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/431258-ride-quality-and-tyres/page/2 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/456453-vredstein-v-michelin
  9. Just do it then.
  10. Your eyes will get older and rear brake lights will get more annoying as the years pass, as will front lights because the EU will allow it, yet the world will be no darker and supposedly the cars will be smarter. Less faulty lights on nearly new cars would be Simply Clever. Cars know their location, know they are stationary in traffic with vehicles around them and behind them stationary and that 3 brake lights do not need illuminated to the rear. But then Auto Lights are still not reliable as of 2020 as is the just of this thread.
  11. There is nothing wrong with Variable / Flexible Services so 'Long Life' with a TDI doing 30,000 miles per year. 3 oil changes a year is just not nessecary. If you were doing 'other filter' changes every 20,000 miles that might well be the Pollen / Cabin filter needing changed or at least cleaned, but changing a 'Air Filter' & Fuel filter every 8 months would not be 'Simply Clever' on a high annual mileage car not being used in a City as a Taxi. DSG oil changes would be every 16 months or so if doing at 40,000 miles, that would be near enough when each 2nd Oil & Filter change would be getting done on Variable / Flexible Servicing and when the Air Filter might be needing changed. http://volkswagen.co.uk/owners/servicing/regimes
  12. This new Angus Council Charging Hub is just about 100 yards from the New Commercial Filing Station with facilities and EV charging stations.
  13. @Doombrain That is pretty much a Diesel car with a different kind of DSG you are posting about.
  14. @Marcushope2 Welcome. What engine is that, is it a 1.4TSI 140 ps ? The DSG would be a DQ200 which does not have any Service Guidelines / Interval / Schedule for oil changes but might well be one currently part of a 'Recall' / Service Campaign in Australia, so best check on that. This is since the World Wide Recall in 2012 and Recall in Australia and this started late 2019.
  15. Listening today on the TV or Radio there are plenty presenters or 'Retail / Consumer' experts or so called experts that must not have actually read the Which article but looked at Newspaper articles and the headlines, or if they actually looked at Tesla's to purchase or just had a nosy looked at the lowest priced Tesla's as they seem to be defending Tesla by speaking about the Early vehicles and how they have improved now & are not talking about the latest of products and failing still.
  16. 'Approaching at speed' ? At faster speeds they have come and gone and moved on up the road. At slower speeds there they are for longer. Nothing like missing the point for affect. Many are not OEM lights and certainly not well or correctly adjusted for aim, which in the UK might not be picked up on until the first MOT after 3 years when the adjustment is spotted as being duff. Sitting in the rain behind red lights for many minutes, maybe for a very long time in slow moving grid lock traffic while a diver has the brake lights on and maybe even a rear fog light or 2 is a totally different thing obviously to even those blinded by the light and that think they are special people that need special lighting. More often than not these days people cope with them in the same way as the driver coming towards you do, they put up with them, or as is common they give you a full beam flash. I will get flashed in the next wee while just driving in the early morning with my Matrix Lights dipped in town and again out on the road. The Vauxhall lights are just annoying to other drivers and they are correctly adjusted. Even crap cars can have very bright lights now that will lights up the very very dark world that some seem to live in. It is no longer the preserve of those with premium vehicles or chavsisters to annoy others.

  18. I know now where a good few 20 & 70 plate Land Cruisers went off to, i saw them yesterday. They are parked up on carparks or other sites with public access beside long caravans with no toilets. Ones with artificial grass outside, lovely polished water containers and a few quads lined up outside. (There are little old caravans are parked beside as the 'Outdoor toilet.)
  19. Fitting Spotlights / Driving lights or a Light Bar might be a better solution to light up roads if there are no other users about to dazzle.
  20. Guest_ replied to vrskeith's topic in Skoda Enyaq
Some will likely be a bit less deadening material in the pure EV lf they do the same cars with different engines like a Kia e-Niro, Plug in and self charger, no point generalising currently as there are so many different manufacturers and models small and large and cheaper but not cheap. Small & smaller lighter EV cars like Smart's, Zoe's, eUp /Mii/Citigo electrics, MG's, Nissan Leaf, PSA EV models are not on wide tyres and the noise you are going to hear is some tyre and some wind noise.
  21. We all know that roof bars can affect your fuel consumption a little, and then bikes, boats and roof boxes fitted will affect fuel consumption even more. So i was expecting a little affect on the range of my EV with the bars and bike carrier fitted, and more so with a bike carried. Just how much that has been has shocked me and i have to rethink where i will be charging and how often when heading off with a loaded up car. Maybe some of the EV Vloggers / Car Reviewers will get the new Crossover / SUV EV's and get bikes and boats / roofboxes on them and stuff in the boot and then see just what the real world ranges are. The VW ID.4 / Skoda Enyaq being the type i mean where if people want people carriers then they might actually being used to carry people and stuff.
  22. Guest_ replied to vrskeith's topic in Skoda Enyaq
We know that box type vehicles are most practical for interior space, like the Yeti, Soul etc, and roundness of a box will be needed to streamline cars if they are tall boxes. so i suspect VW Group did bother a bit with wind tunnels. As long as they just give useless bling and plastic tat add on's a miss and just get on with adding lightness where they can that will help the range. Put roof bars and bike / boat carriers or roof boxes and then put people other than a driver in the car and the range really really suffers. The kind of things people with Crossover SUV's might actually want to do.
  23. It is away to be frosty morning time again for some in Scotland this week. Time of the year in the UK for loads of iced up inside the car threads, winter tyres etc.
