Karoq recall
Customer Service Advisers should know exactly why Registered Keepers are not informed of Recall Actions / Service Campaigns. That is because they are not RECALLS, Recalls that the DVLA are part of the discussion on as being Safety Critical. If RECALL's are not meaning a car with Dangerous Faults or needing checked to see are not RECALLED then it is a VW Group fail. A dangerous fail in their corporate responsibility. Some are Safety Critical and Registered Owners are not hearing from Skoda / VW UK. If it is a DVLA Recall then Skoda / UK are given the Registered Keepers contact details so that Skoda / SEAT / Audi / VW Uk can write to Keepers. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/484031-10-tsi-engine-recall

Should I buy high mileage Citigo ?
If 1 owner / 1 registered keeper but no idea how many drivers because maybe a Hire Car or Meter Readers car the Service History should show what the History of servicing was. Is it 11 or 12 Oil & filter changes. Twice or 3 times brake fluid changes, a few Air, pollen filters and spark plug changes, then what else?

Manual 4x4 Se. Any good without snow mode?
"AWD is engaged too (if you have it.)" If you do not have a AWD you will not have 'Snow mode'. As Skoda tells you the ABS is helping in the stopping by letting the snow build up in front of the tyres. That means you are moving. The TCS (Traction Control / ASR (Anti Slip Regulation) lets the extra slip be there to get you moving. *Not nipping the brakes...* Rather like turning off the TC on a Manual or DSG without 'Snow Mode'. & pulling away in a higher gears as drivers have been doing for many decades on slippy icy or snowy roads or ground.

Manual 4x4 Se. Any good without snow mode?
It is OK on snow or icy roads and untreated roads on the right tyres, otherwise just like all the other AWD's that you see sliding into the kerbs hard when off camber on an icy morning as they become big heavy sledges. Not like some people say that all 4x4's are good in snow. Even those that live in countries that get lots of cold or snow.

Manual 4x4 Se. Any good without snow mode?
Best assume nothing, because the UK is full of people that get a brand new shiny SUV with AWD and then think they are sorted for the winter driving. I am not going to assume that there are just as stupid people in Ireland, i will go on experience and i am sure there are. PS What has ESC or TC / ASR to do with having the wrong tyres on? The Owners manual advises that you might want to switch it off to free a vehicle, or if fitting snow chains.

Manual 4x4 Se. Any good without snow mode?
The tyres are not that large / wide. Not that size is an issue when the right tread for the use they are put to.

Led DRL woes
Wrong LED's then. Others must know which they used that work. ? Are the OEM DRL's not bright enough for your liking?

PROPOSED 20 BLANKET LIMIT ON SCOTTISH ROADS
There are 20 mph speed limits at some Schools in Scotland as well & the signs or flashing lights to show when, like during going in to and coming out of school or break times. Not at Weekends & Holidays. Some think it funny to turn on the speed limit signs which used to be rather easy, and must still be. (It used to just need a match stick, to turn on, or turn them off.) There are permanent 20mph speed limits in many housing schemes. I live within a 20 mph speed limit area. Towns and Villages with main roads running through them have residents that want more people walking or cycling will be 24 hour a day places. They might well want less HGV's rumbling through at 30 or 30+ mph during the night as well as the day and just having to be at a 20 mph max. It is main roads and trunk roads getting a 30 mph limit reduced to 20mph for 18 months as well as the rest of the town or village. These towns or villages might well already have roads that are 20 mph speed limited at times away from the main road.

Led DRL woes
@Citigo If turning on the Side / Position Lights and headlights put the rear Side / Position lights out, what happens at the front to the DRL's. Are they on at full brightness still or off or dim?

PROPOSED 20 BLANKET LIMIT ON SCOTTISH ROADS
There will be the 18 month pilot scheme results to see if there is a reduction in accidents or maybe just survey results showing if people feel safer in the Towns & Villages where it is in force or being policed. There are 20 mph limits already with Average Speed Cameras covering the length of the limited distance. Surely the Scheme will have Road Side Air / Emissions & Noise detectors to see if there is any reduction in pollution and an improvement in the air quality, plus a reduction in noise. The figures for areas of Scotland where 20 mph speed limits and that of the Borders Council areas will be interesting to see in another 18 months.

I like the rear load cover lifting as it does and the amount of space in the front (frunk).- Manual 4x4 Se. Any good without snow mode?
All 4x4's / AWD's are not good on snow unless on appropriate tyres and all VW Group AWD's do not come on OEM tyres that are good on snow or even cold roads without snow.- PROPOSED 20 BLANKET LIMIT ON SCOTTISH ROADS
Across the Scottish Borders there is going to be a trial starting of a 20mph limit in 91 communities where there is currently a 30 mph limit. Here it says 80 towns and villages. Yet it was on the BBC Scotland this morning i heard 91 'communities'. (Ceefax on the Red Button says "A region-wide rollout of a 20mph speed limit to more than 90 towns and villages across the Borders has began.") http://bbc.co.uk/new/uk-scotland-south-scotland-53945560 Today. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-54373224 https://www.itv.com/news/border/2020-08-21/30mph-speed-limits-in-the-borders-set-to-be-reduced-to-20mph- Just done car Service.
Online has never stopped some Dealerships selling an ex demonstrator that shows a Service at 3,000 miles and however many months and it was just an Oil Change if even that. If anyone is likely to commit fraud which costs them billions in the motor trade then No.1 would be VW. As to dealerships / motor supermarkets there are a few dodgy ones of those around.- Karog Stop start not working
@Ajay24 Late Summer / Early Autumn in the UK you should not need to be trying anything to have Stop / Start functioning, the Service Department need to stop wasting customers time. If you have to return to get your car fit for purpose tell them your hourly rate to take the car back in is the same as they will charge Skoda UK for the warranty work, plus your fuel costs.- Karog Stop start not working
The 'engine being warm' is not required for Stop / Start to function. A stone cold engine can have Stop / Start operating. You can start a car and reverse out on to a street Settings for the heating in the car being 16 degrees different from the ambient temp can have Stop / Start not function. As can a very low ambient temp. Or the various other things like too much draw from the battery required. @Ajay24 As long as the issue is logged with the Skoda Dealership you can get your new battery or whatever when you can travel. If there is ever any serious issue use Skoda Assist and let the responder be sent out from your area to you. ? Stop / Start being immobilized is not such a hardship is it?- All Weather tyres and Summer tyres
It gives you traction to get out of parking places etc the same as when you put Snow Socks to get away from being stuck, maybe switching off the TC, then removing the Snow socks and driving about with Simmer Tyres in Winter. There are so many experts about something they have never actually done themselves. Old people get old by living lots of years, maybe having started driving where all they fitted were Town & Countrys and just to the drive wheels, and a bag of sand or salt in the boot. In places where there might be days or weeks of winter weather and white top roads or some years very little the people that drive in those areas tend to do what they need to to get about, and are not generally stupid if they do it winter after winter without finding a ditch or getting stuck and needing recovered.- Intermittent starting problem/running lumpy & losing water
@R88RTY2020 You best find where the coolant leak is soon and not keep topping up with coolant and losing it. So Antifreeze / Summer Coolant /Rust Inhibitor. Is it leaks from pipes / hoses, radiator, water pump or the reservoir / coolant bottle. If you are using water and the real cold weather at and below freezing comes you might have real troubles.- Citigo Tyre Time
Many 4x4 / AWD in the UK are on Summer Tyres and pretty hopeless in Cold / Wet / Snowy or Icy UK conditions and with not much clearance anyway if roads are not ploughed. Actually a liability when they lose traction due to the weight of them. The Original Mini's did well in the likes of Winter Rallying, and a Citigo or other small hatch can be equal to them on winter roads with snow on them.. I used Avon Ice touring tyres on my Automatic Picanto for 6 years and ran them all year. The car went places & came home again to places that AWD's were not managing to get too or get home from. & did autotests with them on during the year.- Citigo Tyre Time
@maxychat Why would that be as the UK is big place with many different conditions and a Citigo can cope very well with All Season / All Weather / Winter or Snow tyres as not everyone can use public transport or just stay in if there are adverse conditions.- Skoda Enyaq
- Water leak in offside front footwell
An important Recall Action that owners should be aware of incase their vehicle is affected. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/484031-10-tsi-engine-recall - Skoda Enyaq
