  1. They are not RECALLS. Dealership staff and Skoda Customer Services might well say a RECALL. They are a Recall action as they now are called, that is a Service Campaign really. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions A Workshop Service Campaign or SKODA SECRET SERVICES action. Need to know and if you are not visiting a dealership you are not needing to know. It is a ridiculous situation that Skoda have been up to for years now. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/337617-skoda-service-campaigns-no-recall-being-done-briskoda-forum
  2. Job done. Millions must be driving about with insurance void with an accessory like this on the visors.

I like in this exterior colour of this one and the grill & the interior other than light panels on the seats. The wheels are not going to suit touch parkers.
  4. ? Is your car part of this Service Campaign / Recall Action? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/485534-recall-sunroof
  5. Many do do it winter after winter or all year and find that a pair of all seasons on the drive wheels of a FWD car and good tread summers on the rear will be no more dangerous than 4 Summers on all round all year. If you drive to the conditions. Remembering that 4 Summer tyres are pretty crap in some conditions like where there are a few days of pretty wintry weather which is all that many in the UK get if even that.
  6. You want to look at the Air Filter and see is it clean and dry and good until the next service or check. The oil can last 24 months if to VW 504 00 / 507 00. Just because it can is not a reason to do that if you want to keep a car a log time. It is Long Life oil for variable / flexible servicing or Fixed servicing. It depends how you use the car as in the link i edited in. Oil not getting up to temp often enough if doing short runs from cold starts can end up with condensation in the engine. Then there is the Servicing & Maintenance / Inspection of the car / tyres / brakes etc. & the Pollen Filter change or vacuum out. That can get damp / musty / smelly.
  7. You will get the Oil Service due message every year because your car has the Service Indicator set to Fixed so every 15,000 km / 9,400 miles / 372 days. If you wanted 24 months / 30,000 intervals you need to change the service indicator. You can do that, but with low miles you might be best staying on Fixed / Annual oil changes. http://volkswagen.co.uk/owners/servicing/regimes The Spark plug change interval used to be at every 2nd major service so 4 years / 60,000 km / 40,000 miles. Now Skoda show it at 6 years for some cars. Brake fluid change is due at 3 years and then each 2, at least have the H2o content checked at 3 years. This is one version of servicing schedules / guidelines. It might well different different intervals by country, use etc.
  8. @TonyTonic There is a member on here with one who might be best placed to say if the car is rubbish or not. ? Have you had a drive in one?
  9. Personally i would not have them touch it or move it. Commission an Independent Engineer to inspect it. Get a solicitors advice on Monday. ? Are you a RAC or AA Member?
  10. @John@C Best thing then. They should not touch it until you get an Independent Expert to examine your car. Maybe via your insurance as you might be claiming off their insurers.
  11. @John@C Was it just the Haldex serviced, and is the Diff still filled with the original oil so easy to see never touched from the factory? Possibility of an issue with the servicing of the Haldex then. Was it a technician that knew what they were doing? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/437767-major-failure-soon-after-haldex-and-oil-changes http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/485299-oil-leak-transfer-gearbox-casing-joint
  12. An Electric Coach service has started between Dundee & Edinburgh. https://www.ember.to
  13. You get to travel about helping others out in adverse weather like tomorrow maybe, and park at the hospital A&E or Maternity if getting pregnant ladies etc there. Remember and carry a flask of boiling water just incase. You can have a nice cuppa while someone delivers the baby if you can not get there in time.
  14. Supermarkets have extra long 4x4 SUV parking available even if no Children or Disabled in the vehicles.
  15. In the event of an accident that is life changing or life taking the Police Examiners job is to be checking the vehicle, bulbs and other aspects / modifications or look for faults.
  16. I rate a fixed tow ball very highly. Practical for those that think touch parking is the way to go or that can not stop properly in traffic. I have had a few hits over the years with no damage to my vehicle but broken number plates or dented fronts on their cars / taxis.
  17. Australians have said that for decades now, and were not happy as Toyota's got more electrics and the engines could not just run on a simple wiring set up.
  18. No idea if Kenyan MP's buy and pay for their own LC's. There is a good reason that the UN, Oxfam & and the other Big Charities and many others have LC's. What the Taliban and ISIS like to drive is maybe worth considering. https://www.nytimes.com/2001/11/23/automobiles/autos-on-friday-international-trucks-of-the-taliban-durable-not-discreet.html
  19. The EG Group that are going to be the majority owners of Asda are who are building the new filling station with EV charging in Forfar, Montrose and i would think elsewhere. I do not know anything about the 6,000 filling stations they have. http://forecourttrader.co.uk/news/eg-group-plans-major-expansion-of-site-at-montrose/643282.article https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/09/29/who-are-the-issa-brothers If they do more rapid chargers and bigger hubs at Asda stores that would be a good thing.

  21. @a1dan75 They might not do Courtesy Cars because of Covid 19, but they or Skoda UK the Warranty provider can get you a Hire Car from a company that knows how to deliver and collect and Social Distance. The have had enough months to get sorted with their business and 'Customer Service'.
  22. Skoda carry common faults / issues / fundamental design or manufacturing failures on from generation to new generation or models. News to dealerships staff more often than not. First we have heard of it, or 'they all do that!'. Only the bad ones do though. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/483733-water-retention-in-doors It can end with blocks of ice inside doors if you do not open them regularly in winter where temps night and day stay at or below freezing, and where people might pour warm water on the glass to defrost. maybe not open the passengers door for a while / days even.
