Knocking sound from my 110bhp Yeti
@vRSRobT It sounds bad enough as it is now. There is 2 Hendrys and one has been pretty rubbish for a while. Certainly there are not that many good ones. Parks can be as bad as the 2 i mentioned. There is West End Skoda if you drove a bit, there is the John Clark Group so that is a few others.

Knocking sound from my 110bhp Yeti
@vRSRobT ^^^^ Exactly. Who are you dealing with, is it Hendrys or Arnold Clark Linwood? If it is not covered by Warranty then there will be costs coming your way, but then that is why you have a warranty and their incompetence in diagnosing the issues is their problem. No need for 20 hours labour as they are not needing to strip the engine and have a technician on the car for more than 2 days. If the engine does need stripped then likely there will be a warranty claim from you...

Ideas what to do, stick or switch
@mac11irl Exactly, and yet so many supposed SUV's / AWD's are on wheels that need changed to sensible sizes to get All Terrain / Mud tyres for.

2019 Fabia Estate
That might be all you need in the more civilised parts of the UK on a nice day that is not a public / festive holiday time. There are places where you are not near tyre and exhaust centres that are open 7 days a week or even 5 1/2 days. There are places that even the 4th emergency services struggle to get to you in 70 minutes.

Oil quality/ service intervals from backstreet garage
9,400 miles fixed service intervals are not to satisfy the fleet market, and 18,000-20,000 miles flexible might well suit those running a TDI for high miles annually and not doing short trips with lots of cold starts. http://volkswagen.co.uk/owners/servicing/regimes

Expected delivery date?
@WalkerN Could Arnold Clark Skoda Edinburgh not have arranged your Motability Car collection in Inverness at their Dealership and with a Motability Specialist in that Dealership? The Salesperson i ordered the Vauxhall car i got a 5 weeks ago was off on furlough and their was no Motability Trained person available so i got my car handed over by a KIA Sales person that was the Motability Specialist. It so happens that the dealerships have the same owners and are only a 100 yards apart, but i had the same in the past with a Skoda Dealership Employee handing over a SEAT to me. AC might well say 'Not possible', expense to Inverness etc etc. I think Motability will say different given the circumstances of AC being the ones that closed the Inverness Dealership. Scotlands biggest Motor Group can dig deep or not as the Transporters are up and down the A9 all the time anyway.

CAMBELT CHANGE
- Servicing 1.4tsi for the first time since i bought this car
Someone will have said the DSG did not need an oil change because it is a DQ200 with no service schedule / guidelines for changing the oil. The best oil is the correct one for the car from whoever. So VW504 / 507 for Fixed or Variable Service Intervals. 5w 30 FS III (that is long life) or for Fixed Service Intervals you could go to VW502, so 5w 40 FS. Pollen filter needs looked at and cleaned (vacuumed) or Replaced. Same with the Air Filter. Needs checked for condition and maybe replaced. 6 years is too long to leave depending on locations locations locations driven. Spark Plugs changed could be 'Simply Clever' @ 4 years. That was the scheduled replace time when it was Minor Major Service time about.- New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..

@CJJE There is a very good Skoda Garage in the North East of Scotland. They have all the gear and more than just ideas at Victoria Garage Maud. http://victoriagarage-maud.co.uk What a pity that can not be said always for Skoda Specialist Cars Perth & Aberdeen, part of the John Clark Motor Group. Things are better in the Dundee branch. As to AC and Skoda in Inverness. The posts in the Dealership section says a fair bit on that. If the business is there for Skoda in Inverness then one might expect PARKS to be having a dealership. They are a whole other kettle of fish....- EPC light car wont start.
@thomasaspin No points for guessing the obvious. Anyone just needed to look at the battery and listen to the non starting to have it checked, If not that then maybe ask.- Unsure about 2019 superb estate
There is a reason for new VW TDI's with SCR being bargains. There is a reason for Water Pumps needing replaced which is VW Group fail to actually source good ones.- Oil quality/ service intervals from backstreet garage
'We' are saying something like that in this case. For a TDI the oil is to VW 504 / 507. So is that what they use? So VW 507 can be used for Fixed or Variable servicing. It is Long Life Oil. For a TSI it is VW 504 / 507 for Fixed or Variable. That is the VW504 bit. Long Life oil. 5w 30 FS III. But for Fixed Servicing VW 502 can be used. that would be 5w 40 FS or even 0w 40 FS.- Fabia Mk2 front wheel removal
@mrgf I can not see where you mention the bolts in your post, only the smearing of the mating faces between the wheel and hub.- EPC light car wont start.
The Oil Capacity is only 3.6 litres, so half up the cross hatch is not much oil if that is checked when cold. The Oil should be checked at Operating Temperature so above 80*oC. near 90 is better, then after a few minutes stopped. Near or in the Area A is good. When hot, half up the cross hatch when cold is not good, it should be as high as when hot or higher. All the oil drains back down. When the correct quantity of oil is in then knowing where that is when cold makes sense.- Ideas what to do, stick or switch
A Jimny is great mud on the proper tyres not the Bridgestone Duelers they come on. Stupid prices now though. A Vitara with AWD is good, again on the right tyres. Everything needs the right tyres for mud including the pickups. A Jeep Renegade on the right tyres and right spec will do the job. So that needs to be a AWD one. Not sure though on buying as a 3rd car. Time you were looking down to Port Edgar. Some lovely stuff there. http://engine710.com- Fabia Estate no longer available?
Likely the issue is the WLTP / RDE2 and them dropping models and not getting certification. The Scala / Kamiq and Karoq will only be available as 1.0 & 1.5 TSI with DSG's when they are Mild Hybrids. If Skoda can drop production of the Citigo iV after only 400 are imported to the UK and say they were not profitable then dropping Skoda versions will be easy.- Rear Suspension Information
They each do plenty miles, being a GreenLine might well make little difference with some types of use. Were they used as Taxis before you got them?- EPC light car wont start.
Does your car use oil much when there is an Oil Filler cap on? ? Do you use 5w 40 FS (VW502) rather than 5w 30 FS III (VW504/507) ? A bit of a tidy of the rust about the battery bolt and engine compartment would not go wrong.- Fabia Mk2 front wheel removal
It is necessary when some more or less say slap it on and lather it all about. So much on a forum needs a bit of thinking about, & what would granny or grandad have said about it?- About to pull the Trigger - 1.5 TSI Kodiaq SE L
Strangely getting the things on the Main Dealers Service Menu checked is hit or miss let alone having things that are not included done. Wheels off to check brakes. That will be chocolate! They tell you want the 'Extended Scope Inspection' involves and just repeat some of what is in the Oil Service & Inspection. - Servicing 1.4tsi for the first time since i bought this car
