  1. It will be a fun drive. People will give you a wide berth as a matter of course.
  2. @Fux Not complicated. The corrupt / implausible Co2 g/km results are achieved under the WLTP and RDE 2 because there is Stop / start even though drivers might never use it. Or it maybe not work as a drivers use, location, weather etc might have it imobolised more often than not. So VW Group have to appear to not make it easy to have Stop / Start disabled other than by a button press. They are getting a few more years cheating in with Light Hybrids and Plug in Hybrids to give the Average Co2 g/km required to save them having to pay money penalies.
  3. Switching off Stop / Start is there with the press of a button for those that want to put it off. No more difficult than putting on or off the rear demister, putting up or down a window.

  5. You need the diagnosis done. A good Independent Gearbox Specialist can do that. There are fixes now that are available, and specialists that are much cheaper than Main Dealers. Some main dealerships use specialist to do the work. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/476341-skoda-fabia-dsg-loss-of-drive http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/469385-7-speed-dsg-gearbox-repairfix
  6. @Phil-E You are talking about the DQ200's built pre late 2012, so really with CAVE engines. World wide recall and Service Campaign in Europe '3475'. That does not have anything to do with the OP's DQ200 that came after that, and could of / should of had '34H5' carried out, started late 2016 early 2017 on some from 2013-2015. Now there is a Recall covering that period in Australia.
  7. It is not an Automatic though, they are 2 pedal and can be driven on an 'Automatic only licence, but really they are Automated Manuals or some say 'Roboticized manuals'. As a ASG is an Automated Manual with a single clutch. I have had various VW Group cars with DSG's petrols and diesels with manual parking brakes and e-brakes and auto hold and often stop and turn them off in N. Cant think i have done it with 1.0TSI 7 speed dsg's in the past couple of years though, but if i had tried to and not been able to i am pretty sure i would of been checking why. If i have a car on a ramp i want to be able to roll it back or forward and can want to spin the drive wheel by hand without them being locked by the DSG's pawl. If i did want the wheels locked i would engage P and the parking brake so the fronts and rears were not able to turn.
  8. A VW Dealerships service desk employee once refused to book a Skoda in for a Service as they said they were not allowed to. I asked them if they wanted to go and check with the dealer principal if this restrictive practice was legal and something their motor group came up with or was it a VW thing. The dealer principal came across and apologised and said that they were more than happy to service vehicles from the VW Group but they might have some restrictions as to access to Skoda TPI's etc and software enhansements. I told him that i doubted that very much and as the car coming in was remapped they were going to be asked not to do and diagnostics or warranty or service campaign work, just do the Service they were advertising at £50 less than the Skoda Dealership 3 miles away. They did, and the person on the service desk on the day it went in recognised what that car was and that the mechanicals were the same as a Polo, and that they never only came in Diesels and manuals, which was a change from the Skoda receptionist the service before who argued it could not be a petrol DSG (automatic), she had one and they only came as diesels..
  9. @mrk2000 Sadly that is the problem with Skoda Service Campaigns (recall actions as they now call them) or as i call them 'Skoda Secret Service Campaigns' where they are on a need to know basis and people who do not use Main Dealers / Authorised Service Centres might never know of important a Safety Critical 'updates'. Skoda do not have them as 'Recalls' and the DVLA let them decide. Loss of Drive with cars 2013-2015 is as dangerous as with those 2009-2012, and the DVSA (VOSA) / DVLA / DfT let them get away with Voluntary recalls. Any Dealership employees that might say the update was not one required because of safety requirements is a total muppet, cars like yours can fail in a dangerous circumstance / location.
  10. Likely the lack of requirement to meet the WLTP / RDE1 & 2 in Australia compared to those in Europe, so no need to compensate for fitting GPF's by making the engine more powerful to suit having the certification tests. Many would like a 1.4TSI and 8 speed auto in Europe compared to the 1.5TSI and 7 speed DQ200 DSG. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/477576-new-australia-karoq-released-for-your-amusement EDIT. UK Models, spec and options. https://www.skoda.co.uk/discover/download-a-brochure
  11. Welcome. What is the trim level called with the car you re getting? In the UK the 2.0 TSI engine is 190ps / 140 kW not 180ps / 132kW.
  12. Love it. The Kia Stonic being an old mans car & the Jazz SE is not something old men would be seen driving.
  13. Welcome. A fault Skoda need to get sorted. A DSG should be able to be stopped in N without a driver having to use P. For servicing and maintenance for one reason. The car can be started in P or N. Started in N as long as the temp is not lower than minus 10*oC. Or should be able to be. Best get the Owners Manual out and read it as Skoda had it written and printed as to P & N and stopping and turning off the engine. It will be interesting to know if they have revised the procedures from past Owners Manuals.
  14. @mrk2000 Have you never had your car into a Main Dealer for servicing since the Service Campaign was called in 2017?
  15. @mrk2000 What is the story. Did you lose drive with no warning? No flashing white spanner or the likes? ? How long have you had the car and how many miles has it done?
  16. They whoever they are on the Service Desk or the Service Manager need to read the TPI then. It was not introduced to improve or protect performance it was a preventative update to help prevent failures. They need to talk to someone that actually knows their arse from their elbow. If the car was at a Skoda Main Dealership for Servicing or Warranty work or sold by them since the Service Campaign was started and the update not done then that is a Skoda problem. If the cars owner / keeper did not want it done then that is your problem sadly. See the post by @James@Pentagon_Seat Who was and may still be a Master Tech and who does know his stuff. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/422718-rapid-recall-dsg
  17. Re '34H5'. This is the 2013-2015 'Service Campaign' that applies to some. It was not a RECALL, and not much of a 'Recall action', as it never showed on the VIN Checker until last year. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/425424-2017-another-dq200-7-speed-service-campaign A late Mk2 Fabia vRS that required a new MCU and got one under warranty. This is the type of issue that had required VW group to take action with some DQ200's from 2013-2015. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/432730-oil-leak
  18. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions The Service Campaign '34F7' to change the oil from synthetic to mineral is on cars / dsg's built before before late 2012. Late 2012 DSG's gor nothing done, then 2013-2015 there is Service Campaign '34H5' for some. A software update. This is '34F7'.
  19. Easy enough to just ask for another copy of the agreement. Best that you have it.
  20. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/463460-shark-performance-gone-who-now important that people know they are still around if people want their services @ Racingline. http://racingline.com
  21. Read the T&C's on your agreement. If there are restrictive practices and a restricted market condition like 'Main Dealer / Approved Repairers servicing only' in the T&C's then so be it. There are Independents that have all the gear (Licensed equipment, and that get Recall / Service Campaign and TPI's, can do warranty work with approval and that can put the service info on the system.
  22. e-scooter rider in Scotland charged with offences for riding it on pavement. This will need to get sorted in Law in Scotland. Motorised mobility trikes / sit on scooters & electric wheel chairs are allowed on pavements, pedestrian precincts etc and if the gentleman is actually disabled he might well be able to use this as a defence if prosecuted. The power output of those and mobility scooters / wheelchairs used on pavements or roads are what is makes the difference. No licence or insurance required. The road wheelchair / scooters can be registered with the DVLA. Stand on Scooters with engines are a different matter, people have been charged with using them for many years now. Same with Skate Boards and Long boards with petrol engines. & if they can exceed 8mph. Electric powered vehicles without pedals are rather different, but how much different time will tell in a Scottish Court possibly. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/disabled-man-left-stunned-after-22387358
  23. Great early morning cycling weather.
