  1. Welcome. Best say what size tyres are on the 17" rims, and what tyre size is on the 18" you found. So is the total circumference close enough? Best IMO to get a Steel Rim & tyre that 'Saves Space' if you want to 'save space' in a tyre well. rather then any really narrow 'Space Saver'. Either of those choices requires you to limit your speed while fitted. But then so does an odd one out alloy with some random make / brand tyre nearly the same as the 3 still on the car. Worth looking for a single alloy with a tyre the size or a match for the 4 on the car IMO.
  2. @Me-109 Fitting tyre to the car and then moving wheels / rotating wheels so front to rear should be included in the new tyre price. Tyres fitted and balanced and fitted where required. Someone wanting their wheels they bring in, winter to summer wheels costs to change totally different. Sure a 2 minute job because your tools are all to hand, sometimes 2 fitters will just work together and job done. Love to see you doing each wheel on and off and others on in 2 minutes, wheels in and out the car, pressures checked. I have no hesitation saying to someone that questions me about the cost of doing a '2 minute job', go and DIY wherever you want then as i have others things to do with my 15 minutes and my facilities and tools. Regular customers might well be a different matter. It is unbelievable though when you can do something as a favor for someone free gratis and then you get nothing but grief and complaints and accusations of doing something badly. With tyre fitting, or just changing wheels around that can be accusations of damaging rims and them wanting to claim off you or your insurance.
  3. Thunder & lightening and warm wind and rain. Wunderba.
  4. In the case of Councils / Local Authority departments, fleet users they are just expensive work vehicles that are cheap to lease and run and do not need Rapid Charging to just be used locally and not do many miles and mostly sit doing not much. https://www.angus.gov.uk/news/angus_leading_the_charge_with_electric_vehicles
  5. If the spare wheel and tyre came with the car from new then it is older than the car, & we are more than half way through 2020 so a while on since the OP, but hopefully still good and maybe never going to be used because a puncture on the car.
  6. Is it as simple as the condition of the battery? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/442415-fabia-12tdi-stop=start-battery-coding http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/416655-skoda-fabia-12-greenline-estate-stop-start-error http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/206542-start-stop-issue
  7. @PassionateAboutCars You posted your question in the Rapid Project section not the Rapid section. I had no idea that there was a 1.5TDI available. Is it the same as in this video? Looking at a 3 & 4 year old review you maybe got performance and behaviour wise exactly what Skoda engineered and supplied.
  8. @Carlston Best drive to Barnard Castle. ? Are you hearing voices?
  9. The Motability website has the required info. http://motability.co.uk The lease is for 3 years unless the car has done less than 15,000 miles @ 3 years old and then the lease can be extended to 5 years. ***You can ask for a price to buy at end of lease, so before 3 years old.*** EDIT, i just checked and no longer correct. My 2016 SEAT Alhambra had a RRP over £30,000. Motability paid £24,500 for it. I asked before hand back how much to buy it and was told £18,400. (I would not have bought it for £12,000, i knew how it was treated even though it looked good and i got my £600 Good Condition payment eventually, Motability lost trace of the car and even though sold they thought i still had it. The pictures taken at handback by the salesperson are the ones used by BAC to sell them. It went back, went to BCA but actually then straight on to Arnold Clark who had it advertised @ £16,500, now it is for sale still at £16,000. At least the stuff that was on the advisory on the MOT done 2 months before the hand back is now done and another MOT carried out. EDIT. PS. Scrap that...... They have removed the option to buy at the end of lease. If you lose PIP and they terminate the Lease, you can ask to purchase the vehicle and what they want for it. This was the price i got from them because i did ask 4 months before end of the lease when i thought i was not getting PIP.
  10. Welcome to the forum. Your 1.6TDI & 7 speed twin dry clutch DQ200 DSG might just be behaving as it would be expected to and really can not be compared to a 2.0TDI 6 speed wet clutch or 7 speed wet even if they are faulty.
  11. When you lift it still fit a metal sump guard. I think it was a member from Romania that was selling them.
  12. A 'Blue Light' Kit from Eibach can be fitted, as used by emergency services. No idea if that will make a difference to what you are finding to be vulnerable.
  13. ? What parts are you hitting & have damaged and where are you actually going?
  14. Tyres and wheels, type and size and brand make a difference even if driving identical cars with different tyre / wheel set up's. The Car Reviewers / Motoring Journalists collect cars from the Media Team maybe read the Media Pack and never bother checking the tyre pressures. So drive the cars yourself and check the tyres and pressures, and remember that What Car / Autocar, AutoExpress and all the others just keep with SEAT from Spain being Sportier than Skoda from Czechia even if the cars are actually built in the same countries in the same factory. VW Tell them SEAT's are more for the young than Skoda's.
  15. Dunlop SportMaxx to to the left, Pirelli Zero Nero on the car. CrossCliimate in 265/18's at bottom. You will be avoiding lots of Summer tyres while looking for different tyre patterns and compounds. Going for 'All Weather / All Season / 3 mountain winter certificated tyres' will get you different patterns.
  16. Skoda Dealership employees were also blamed tyres commonly be they Dunlop, Continental, Pirelli, Bridgestone or even Michelin. They see Skoda vehicles quite often and maybe more often than Independent Garages. But then Skoda fitted them at the factory and continued to. They were never going to blame the tyres and tell the Tyre Manufacturers to clear off and stop supplying them. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/482825-tyre-noise
  17. Welcome to the forum. The difference will really be between Ooo & Ahhh, which is very little. Even putting on tyres with taller sidewalls. Best trade the car in for more of an Offroader.
  18. I saw them on a Mk2 Fabia vRS in Biggar Scotland but people have asked here before and asked those advertising them and they say they were never made. Maybe someone can 3D print ones.
  19. Guest_ replied to Ryeman's topic in Electric Vehicles
^^^ I wonder if he even noticed that the Honda e Advance with 17" rims & the other cars with 16" rims comes with staggered tyres. (wider at the rear), or maybe that Media car does not have them. Quite important to owners / drivers when it come to replacing tyres or thinking of rotating them.... Don't bother!
  20. Welcome to the forum. Worth placing a 'wanted ad' in that section.
  21. Guest_ replied to Ronn's topic in Škoda Citigo
All Electric Skodas have been coming for years now and finally there is the Citigo iV and in the UK the demand currently outstrip the supplies and the Enyaq will arrive eventually at whatever costs. No idea how long it will be until prices plummet with any of the new model EV's that the VW Group are going to produce and get out on the market with their current technology let alone the next generation. Maybe used ones will depreciate if VW's hype on the bigger vehicles have the snagging faults common with the VW group.
  22. My new Vauxhall leased from Motability was due for delivery to the dealership the day after lock down was called. Once the dealership opened i was asking where it was and was given some pretty poor excuses. 2 weeks ago i was a bit more pee'd off so pushed a salesperson to find where it was. Turned out that it got 'overlooked' in a compound and was not signed off to be released. It arrived at the Dealership last Tuesday afternoon and needs a PDI. No trained technician available to PDI an EV so there it sits 1 mile away from my home. Offski for 2 weeks so not really bothered anymore, and if i can be bothered i will be in touch with the Dealership when i am back home.
  23. The posts by @Tcots are clickbait, so as long as he or she earns off the site linked then it is all positive. The site is no better than Auto express at guessing stuff and publishing what stuff is maybe getting changed, & guessing when they might come sometime maybe. After all there are changes annually and Facelifts eventually. Love the Karoq image just for the reflection on the bonnet & windscreen. Lazy photo shopping.
