  1. @carbman That sounds right by 'Skoda UK / VW UK's' 'Recall Action' (Service Campaign) on cars like yours with a DQ200 built summer time 2012 and the car first registered Autumn 2012. There was no recalls as in 'Contacting Registered Keepers with details given by the DVLA. & 'Recall action 34F7 & 34H5 were for earlier DQ200s with the first one and later for the 2nd. If nothing on the VIN Checker, & nothing on the DVSA / DVLA / DfT site then that is that quite often. But then the Skoda VIN checker is not always right and '34H5' never appeared til last year but started in 2017 for DQ200's that were part of it. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall
  2. @robdav You were not pushing back and causing Skoda Dealerships to have to raise prices, you did what many need to do because people trust their lives and others to Honesty from Main Dealerships & sadly that is often just not there, instead it is up-selling. Re that price they (who was that, a service desk receptionist?) said they wanted for 1 litre of Adblue @ £14 when they put it in. I am giving them the benefit of doubt that the person that told you that was thinking it could cost that to fill it up. Skoda Fixed Pricing Servicing / Maintenance has it at £1.50 a litre at participating dealerships.
  3. In the UK where there is a 3 years manufacturing warranty many will notice that there is no mention when the car is in for a service @ 24 months / 18,500-20,000 miles or even at a Service 1 month before a Warranty expires and you get a MOT done of Misting. There might well be Misting but that is not brought to your attention when collecting the keys and likely not an Advisory on the MOT.
  4. Rear non drive wheels / tyres can go nicely back in place when a driver can steer into a skid, with or without ESP, & get advantage of ABS from the front drive wheels that can steer if there is traction with tyres and surface. All fine in theory but everyone really is a driver and might well know what it feels like when a car / vehicle wants to go straight on as you try to get around a bend / corner. No traction but loads of action with the front tyres can have you touching cloth.
  5. @Me-109 ? What do you think a fair charge is for the labour of an employee in a building with costs / overheads and a job covered by the companies insurance? Go price some cycle shop fixing a puncture or putting in a new tube in a bicycle or maybe what a show repairer / key cutter is charging and then work that out as an hourly rate.
  6. Guest_ replied to Ronn's topic in Škoda Citigo
  7. @Phil-E Can all Citigo in all World Regions run on 91 RON ? Do the Euro 5 & Euro 6 Citigo sold in Europe / EU have on the Filler Flap 95 / (91) ? Bottom filler flap in red is a Euro 5 Mk2 Fabia 1.4TSI Twincharger 136kW. Prescribed fuel is 98 ron and 95 ron minimum as sold in Europe.
  8. @20vKarlos Does the cars seller not have access to the car to go look at the Build Sticker in the boot to get the Paint Code for you?
  9. @Scot5 Did you notice that i posted one picture after you went off on one at the post @Kenny R made relevant to the OP's question. You do not half get yourself in a twizz calling people all sorts. You need to chill a little. PS I reported my inappropriate posted picture just so there is no doubt that the Mods will be aware.
  10. ^^^ Sorry, going to Specsavers was my other bad.
  11. You lost it long ago as an Armchair expert. You call others that, yet get your info from a search engine. Say what comes to mind. Leaky roof, leather seats, maybe slippery when wet.
  12. With rust removed, and dirt then 'Rust Inhibitor' would be the next thing before any undercoat and top coat or waxoyl or anything.
  13. Unappreciated picture removed as it did not lighten the mood.
  14. People park cars without putting in P and having the DSG locked by the Pawl. They might leave a car in a garage or outside even without the parking brake on and the wheels chocked. This is possible and has been for a very long time with DSG's. If it is not something someone wants to do that does not mean that others do not want to. PS Putting in 'P' does not put on a manual hand brake or any brakes front or rear. 'E-Brakes' are a different matter. But in 'P' locks the gearbox / drive wheels & does not apply the brakes.
  15. Best avoid a TDI then. A 1.4 TSI 150ps might be ideal.
  16. @engineertk Not important, but, Is it not the 'Coolant temp gauge and fuel gauge' that are not working, or do you actually have an oil temp gauge?
  17. Welcome to the forum. I let a mod know your post was here and they can move it to the Fabia Mk1 section.
  18. ^^^ That is no surprise really as it will always depend on how a driver drives and maybe presses the accelerator and brakes be it FWD, RWD AWD or Part time AWD. The Steering happens with the front wheels, the engine and gearbox in many cars are at the front as is the drivers, and the most braking happens at the front wheels. AWD or Haldex and even tyre wear might be much to do with how that vehicle is driven if the tyres are never being changed front to rear.
  19. @Loofer Was your BMW not good for only 25 miles on electric? If you were going a few hundred miles what miles to the litre of fuel do you actually get? ? Was it really equivalent to ~1 p / mile if going on a journey?
  20. It is a 2 minute job for a fitter / valeter or even a tech to whip it off and pocket it and claim they know nothing. Never seen it, no idea what you are talking about. Actually you can take things with a pinch of salt or spend some time working in garages and not just being a customer.
  21. @newbie69 Why the reaction? Is it not common sense to reduce any chance of confusion at Dealerships. 'Simply clever'.
  22. @Stuart-h sorry no help to your question just a question. What is wrong with just keeping an eye on the brake pad wear, as in you know how good the pads are, how many miles you do and when checking tyres etc look at the pads and discs and see who things are going. Service the brakes annually maybe pre winter or post winter.
  23. @newbie69 Fair enough. Just let them know that it is fitted then so that there is no confusion at the Service Desk or in the workshop. Let them know that Non Factory approved components fitted.
