Going but will pop in now and again.
Danny 57 replied to Danny 57's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
After getting my XC90, 5 weeks ago they are now bringing out a plug in hybrid. Mind you Škoda will not match the quality of my XC90 Ultimate. -

Thank you. -
Sold my car over a year last October due to a motor bike accident nearly three years ago that prevents me driving a manual. Started driving a year ago, the wife's Mokka X 1.4 turbo. Anyway have now ordered a new Volvo XC90 Ultimate plug in hybrid in Crystal White with charcoal interior, which can take my disabled kit. I would have gone for the hybrid Kodiaq that was coming at one point and then wasn't, was very disappointed with Skoda on that one but the bean counters got their way. So I ordered an XC60 and promptly changed that to the XC90 because of the boot size when seats 6&7 were folded down Will still pop in now and again if nothing else than to be amused by some of the posts and maybe add a comment or two. Anyway best of luck everybody and stay safe.

Difficulty releasing bonnet safety catch
Danny 57 replied to richard999's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
I took my bonnet latch apart, cleaned and put back together slightly nearer the release point. This work for a couple of years but the problem gradually re-appeared. My end solution was a large flat screwdriver to simply move the latch over. Poor design in my opinion. -
Look nice but will restrict flow by at least 50%.

School run of 75 miles? That is some distance. -

Do you have much snow in the winter. 🤣 -
Good suggestion the Seat’s have sharper handling but the quality IMO is not the same and no hybrid nor heated windscreen or ventilated seats. Mind you the GLC doesn’t have the last two either.

If there isn’t going to be one then they have missed my purchase. The dealer was sure that would surface with the face lift. I will look at the MB GLC diesel plug in hybrid.

No mention of the plug in hybrid.

It also notes that it has 9.2 inch screen and then lower down it is 8 inch screen. -
superb MKII 2010 COLUMBUS SAT NAV UPDATE
Danny 57 replied to Obester10's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
I did my 2012 by buying a disc (£25) in 2017. It work very well. It has to be a disc to reboot the sat nav. Simply follow the instruction, even I managed to do it so it must have been easy. I got the info from this site on someone's thread, cannot remember who though, sorry. -
Sorry but I only looked as far as the headlights bit. Have a lovely Christmas Day for you and your family.

Hi and welcome to the site. If you look at Škoda cars uk site the base Kamiq comes with basic led headlights. That means they do not bend as the AFS ones do.

He gave up and got the scrappy to collect it.

Just looking at the Kodiaq and Superb and I could not find the 4th and 5th year warranty available Usually £630. Or am I the last to see it. 🤭😚🤣 Presume that it applies to the other models.

Kind of you. My bonnet had lots of small stone chips, which I treated all as soon as they appeared with paint and lacquer and two dings, one while on my driveway on the front right wing. I knew all that would put people off so agreed a deal to have the bonnet, wing and the other wing feathered in for £400 cash. They did an excellent job of it. I will be hanging around as I won’t to see how the Kodiaq hybrid is before making a decision as we will need something that will accommodate an electric scooter as I am now disabled after a motorbike accident. At the moment there is the wife’s Mokka X 1.4 auto. 😗 It serves a purpose. 😄

Quite the contrary, the discs were not scored and had lots of “meat” on them as did the discs. As I said above if you anticipate and use the engine to brake then you hardly touch the brakes. I had a free mot just before I sold it as the garage got the mileage wrong on the mot in April and they commented on the discs and pads still having a lot of life left in them.

Just sold my car after more than 8 1/2 years. Would not have sold if I didn’t have to due medical reasons as I can not drive a manual anymore. Very sad to see it go but the new owner is very happy. It was in extremely good condition with a full FMSH and at 99350 still on original disc’s and pads as I had always used the engine to do most of the braking. 60 mpg regularly achieved with 70 plus at times. All this was to work and back while on holiday to Scotland, Kent and Surrey at 70-80 and still got near 50mpg. Anyway gone now so need to wait until the hybrid Bear comes out.

Warranty should start from the day you take delivery.

To me it does not matter what you need a tow bar, light or whatever but just imagine 2,3 or more owners down the line who buys the car for towing a large caravan or heavy trailer and after a few miles it breaks down because the engine has over heated or you have stopped because of overheating or any other reason. Would you be happy, I am sure I would not. My own experience. Renault 25, 30 years ago towing a caravan, within apparent weight limits having to stop every so often to let the engine cool down because an extra heat exchanger had not been fitted when the tow bar was. 🤭😊. Me was unaware of the extra cooling required. 😊🤭

Is this car suspiciously cheap?
Danny 57 replied to EmergencySheet's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Could the high mileage be the reason as it is almost double (ish) the average mileage for the year. -
Superb Bi Xenon lights shut off MK II 2014
Danny 57 replied to TheBirg's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Ballast breaking down when warm. Lights go off, ballast cools down and lights come. Then repeat. Just a guess on my part though.
