DAB radio cuts out when switching on rear screen heater.
Does the symbol light up indicating a loss of radio signal? Does it happen in a low signal area and a high signal area, or just a low signal area?

I have the same problem. I have found Quartz Grey Metallic LF7Y online, but would rather find it on the car.

A few errors this morning
But then Skoda couldn't charge you for fixing it.

Infotainment and phone.
What the article seems to imply is that you can disable Siri AFTER you have connected to CarPlay - so you need to enable Siri, connect and then disable Siri. And when you do that you lose the handsfree features. Whereas if I connect with Bluetooth I get the handsfree features, it connects automatically whenever I get in the car and Siri can stay in the box. I think I will disregard CarPlay and work with the Bluetooth features.

Yes, I can sync with Bluetooth, but not with CarPlay as I have no intention of enabling Siri.

Infotainment and phone.
The problem with CarPlay is it won't cooperate without Siri being enabled, and I have no intention of enabling Siri.

I haven't heard of CarPlay so will need to research it.

Infotainment and phone.
I had a look at that this evening. I don't get the same screen, I get 'search', 'favourites' and 'all'. The favourites was empty and didn't show the contacts in my phone listed as favourites. I have set a few favourites on the car and will see if they are still there next time I connect. The small screen in front of the driving position only shows the recents, and I can't seem to alter that. I have a Pre FL mk 4 ('72 plate).

Infotainment and phone.
I have recently coupled my iphone to the cars's infotainment via bluetooth. Whenever I start the car I get a 'loading contacts' message, however the only contacts I can see from scrolling on the screen are the ones in my 'recents' list. Now I don't really want my full contacts list of over 250 (don't ask, the perils of being secretary for a few clubs and blocking unknown callers), but is there a way of maybe having a 'favourites' group of contacts uploaded?

Don’t depend on the keyfob battery dash warning
No, but my stand-by keyfob battery managed to self discharge when stored in a drawer. It only ever comes out when the car is being serviced so I don't have to remove the daily keyfob from my key ring. The car was 2 1/2 years old when, after the keyfob was put away a year previously, it wouldn't unlock the car. That battery was replaced by Skoda as the car was going in for a service anyway. The other keyfob battery raised an alert on the dash shortly afterwards and I replaced that one.

Octavia NX (facelift) infotainment update
Having spent 40 years in the electronics industry, I think it is eminently sensible not to keep applying updates (unless a really obscure bug is found that would merit a recall). The only reason computers get updated so often is that they have to interface with an ever changing world full of hackers and multiple commercial concerns looking for that edge. The car is a completely enclosed system.

One touch drivers window
Run each window all the way down and all the way up, then the single shot will come back. On my old mkII I also had to do a full left and right lock on the steering wheel after a battery disconnect.

Obd2 information
Unfortunately that isn’t a one off payment. They can keep charging you. Is there a product which you only have to pay once for?

Skoda connect renewal?
I let mine lapse - the remote access for driving data was useful but not essential after the novelty wore off, and the "lock" status gave me a false negative, so I figured that wasn't worth having.

Rear lights
Steve, you're forgetting the burble of the twin exhausts from V8.

Rear lights
That's why I like my Triumph Stag. I can replace the reversing light bulb holder for one which takes a dual filament bulb, install a Red/White LED bulb and with a few relays can have two fog lights, two reversing lights and four brake lights.

Skoda Octavia 1.0 eTSI cold start jerks
I've a 1.5 petrol and it does it for the first 20 yards when moving off for the first time in the day. It can be avoided by keeping the revs a little high and slipping the clutch if necessary for those 20 yards. After that it is fine. I've no idea if an error code is produced - I don't have a code reader. The code you report reads as "fuel pump - low pressure", which makes sense with the behaviour seen.

Towbar prep or full towbar installed?
The preparation kit involves putting in the front to back cabling. Having it avoids having to rip out the trim to insert it at a later date. Whether or not the eventual installation works properly will depend on whether or not you get Skoda to install it. I bought a mk2 Elegance back in 2012, an ex-Skoda company car, and had a Skoda removable towbar fitted before I took delivery. That cost me £1,000 back then, so £1,000 today is cheap. Check that the car is rated to tow a horsebox - it depends on the plated MAUW of the trailer, not what it actually weighs.
