  1. The Service Desk staff wanted me to have the automatic transmission fluid changed on my manual mk2 . . .
  2. I use Bluetooth and not Carplay and don't have a problem. I also use the iphone for navigation and the spoken instructions come through the car's speakers.
  3. The last time I had this issue with a touch screen it was caused by fine grit / dirt getting trapped in the surround of the screen support. Try clearing it out with your finger nail.
  4. I blindfold the lane assist camera with some self adhesive vinyl (middle of the windscreen near the rear view mirror). This has the side effect of the front assist complaining that it is compromised, which reminds me to disable that if I haven't already. I plan to try and blindfold the front assist radar with an aluminium sheet retained by some spongy double sided tape (after painting it with black metallic paint) - hopefully that will sufficient.
  5. OK, I haven't posted the label - it includes the VIN. It's the UK drivers side, bottom of the B post, and impossible to photograph without removing the door. There is one line above the VIN and four below with weights. Anyone know what its all about?
  6. Yes, but that was weeks ago, 14 March, and I got back in just by logging back into the infotainment in the car (and using the web to reset my SIP as I had no record of what it was).
  7. I have a Sept '22 car. Now that is out of warranty, what are the implications of finding a more reasonably priced garage to service the car?
  8. Today I received an email with the above title. Then when I went to the car it had removed me as primary user. I had to download the application and then, with BOTH keys in my hand, reset myself as primary user. I'm not sure if the car had updated software, or the application had updated software, but this resetting of everything and forcing us to keep going to Skoda's servers is getting to be a pain in the butt.
  9. When the auto hill handbrake comes on (green P), the rear brake lights are also kept on. When you pull the lever up for parking (red P), the rear brake lights go out. I think it is plain courtesy to the car in the queue behind you to pull the lever up and switch the brake lights off (unless its a pr**k who has been pushing you all the time). In both cases the brake will automatically disengage when you pull away. If you are stopping entirely, the parking light goes from green to red when you turn the ignition off without having to lift the P lever.
  10. It all went OK, once I had logged in my favourites were still there. However, I would recommend switching on the 'eye' when entering your password - the touch keyboard is so clunky its impossible to not make at least one mistake.
  11. I was wrong there - it only downloads whilst the ignition is on. Mine stopped downloading when I left the car. So I had to sit in the car for 20 minutes this morning whilst it completed the download.
  12. My car got the prompt this a.m. The intro explained that a re-login was required, along with other useful info. It looks like taking 5 hours to download so I'll check back on it this evening.
  13. I would suggest it was frozen shut with ice - nothing to do with the locking mechanism.
  14. I assume not all the stations transmit a logo.
  15. Many years ago I had a towbar retro fitted by a dealer, but the work was done by a specialist fitter who only did one car a week. So try phoning around other dealers and you might find one who has a competent fitter to do the job.
  16. I have just entered my VIN and I get the same response. Also for awhile now (possibly since before the 16th) I keep getting the 'update' prompt on the infotainment - and I keep telling it to update, and a few days later it comes back and prompts me again. Does this require a dealer visit?
  17. I just mute mine. Regarding the strip under the screen - it took me a long while to work out that you need to slide your finger along it (or maybe it matters where along its length you touch it).
  18. I always assumed that was a design feature of the sporty models?
  19. Is the car on level ground when the warning occurs?
  20. There is no code on my car or in the handbook. I paid €3 to an ebay swiss vendor to get a 6 page pdf of all the codes associated with my VIN. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226517872578
  21. There is a very useful article on the space saver options here https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/525101-space-saver-wheel-kit/#comment-5876012
  22. The shark fin is the GPS antenna. Configured for a completely different frequency.
  23. It is only connecting via bluetooth, not via the cellular mobile network.
