  2. How much for the uprated clutch and dmf kit?!
  3. Liking this! bet youl miss the octy after all the work you put into it!
  4. Drill out the rivets, tapp a 8mm thread and use bolts with a washer, then use gutter sealant (Doesnt try as such so stays flexible unlike others). Done this to all 4 doors and dont have a problem, only tapped the holes since my doors got deadlocked by a autospark
  5. Ahh right, thanks! Im going to ask if i can borrow a buggy from mothercare to try the boot, it is a travel system weve bought so hopefully itl fit, but if not i do fancy something a bit bigger and more refined! Thanks for your input
  6. I have H7R is mine and they are ok, get flashed when there at the top but one notch down on the leveller and there fine
  7. Awesome, thats a good start! I figured theyd eat DMF's just like any other reasonably powered diesel it would seem, DPF and swatoothing are new ones on me though!
  8. Morning People, Basically having a baby in june, and now that ive bought a house etc beginning to think that my wee fabia might not be big enough for me, the other half and the baby, you no buggy, baby bag, shopping blah blah blah, was looking at the Octavia Mk2 Race Blue 170bhp diesel engine but wanted some opinions of it? Common Problems? Built Quality (Probably the same as the Fab i know) and general thoughts about it? I would be part exchanging my car (Roughly £4k) and i could probably put forward £4k cash. Seen a few on autotrader with under 60k miles on the clock for roughly £8k Let me know what use think!
  9. Technically i shouldnt have voted but all i did was paint them in sit ue, now there colour coded and look the tits!
  10. No wheel spin starts, dont accelerate hard under 2k rpm and it should be fine. drop down a gear on the bypass motorway to overtake
  11. They help a little bit , if you want to solve understeer stick a whiteline/jabbasport rear arb on
  12. i always drop a gear when accelerating on the bypass/motorway to stop this, when the turbo kicks in the DMF struggles to put the power to the engine at low revs hence it struggles, hence the shudder!
  13. Done mine yesterday, Oil, Oil Filter, Air Filter, Sump plug with washer came to £38 with trade discount at TPS, Small torx bit for undertray. 19mm socket for sump plug. 32mm socket for asz engine code oil filter basin kitchen roll
  14. I have had eibach pros on since the summer, imo they bring the ride down to where it should have been out of the factory, not too low so the car will still go over speedbumps ok but a nice drop, they dont change the ride much either. look at my build thread for pics
  15. Got the car back from the garage last tuesday with a nice new bumper on it, garage did a really good job of paint matching it! Over the weekend i decided to service the car...in the snow. Oil Oil Filter Air Filter and a new sump plug, all the parts were from TPS at a cost of £37. No pictures of the service since it was snowing and ******* freezing but car runs sweet as a nut, average fuel consumption of 45mpg consistantly around town so pretty chuffed with how the cars running. Few issues such as the passenger front window doesnt work, the drivers side is temperamental and the rear skoosher only skooshes half way up the window, part from they little things all going well! New aerial base aswell since ine has water into which is shorting it to ground, so hopefully get that done this week. Will get pics up when i wash the damn thing but as im moving house soon not alot will be happening to the car, just need it to be relialble!
  16. Update - Dazjenks got my stuff at trade price so heres how it tallies up now. Oil - £19.35 Oil filter - £3.28 Air filter - £7.54 Sump plug with washer - £1.43 Total without vat - £31.60 Total with vat - £37.92 Fuel filters are £17 odd without vat. As you can see, trade is alot cheaper than normal, i normally get trade prices when i go in but over the phone seems they give out normal prices. Thanks to dazjenks for that favour, this was only meant as a guideline to prices at tps as servicing is something we have to do, didnt realise it would cause an argument when i was only trying to help.
  17. Your grammar may be good, but your reading skills aren't up to much, consuming and buying (as my comment stated) are different things. No i wont not buy out of date items out of a shop such as what i was implying you would do, but i have consumed out of date items. Read better! Anyway, dazjenks is sorting me out so will update this in a few days to find out trade prices etc!
  18. It was an example of skimping out to save a few pounds.
  19. I meant the parts are cheaper because they aren't genuine vag items. You're the type of guy that buys out of date food because "it's just the same but cheaper", same with everything in life, you get what you pay for. I buy genuine parts for my car because i look after it. As do most of the people on here apparantly bar a few. If you want cheap parts theres chinese copys of all the items for a few quid on ebay, thats right up you're street. P.s i tried really hard with my grammar for you.
  20. at a guess....id say it just means the water is at a good temperature, dont quote me on that
