  1. One of my arches has a spot of rust, a dent (not my fault) and the other is scratched (my fault). I was just wondering has anyone ever had any experience painting small repairs like this outdoors in the British summer? Was the finish okay? I'm skeptical about the finish it would give, even after clear coating and mopping/polishing. My second option is to repair the rust/exposed metal with some kurust, and fit some wheel arch covers like the ones below. Does anyone know where I can find these (or similar)?
  2. That's a gem; I hope you're taking care of it! I've always liked these in white. Keep the amber repeaters, amber indicators wouldn't go a miss either. I've some on my own car and it looks alright, it's blue though so not as well as it would on this. Proof: You're inspiring me to drop my felly a bit and tidy it up.
  3. Not too bad!! You've brushed it or used paint donors?
  4. B*****ks!! Yet they've pulled me twice in the last 3 months.
  5. Cheers mate! I'll try to order one from my mate. Either that or try to get one from GSF. :/
  6. Does anyone know the specifications of the thermostat seal for a 1.3MPi Felicia? I did buy a new thermostat but it came with no seal. :/
  7. Smooth the grill, find the donors (longest part), clear and colour the lights, download a font, make a decal, open the window, the roof, more polished chrome. All about the small details. Sorry if it's not up to your standard. Work time was probably half hour.
  8. I want to own one of these one day, so I decided to chop one the way I'd like my own. All in an hours work. Doing this on a Friday night, yeah I'm sad. :p
  9. I had to replace the battery on mine when I bought it. Just remove and refit the brace for easy access (if you're worried about the suspension park the car on flat land - the suspension should be in equilibrium anyway due to the weight of the car). I wouldn't bother with removing the trim, it can be a b***h to get back on with all the clips.
  10. I've no mayo and it doesn't get up to temperature. I was just saying I need a new thermostat.
  11. May have to change the thermostat on my own! The coolant flows even on startup. Never gets up to 90. Headgasket!! White substances on the oil cap, dodgey coolant. Damp under the dash! All the regular stuff!
  12. Don't park the car nose up in wet weather - water can collect in the heater intake, giving you a damp interior, and wet under the dash. Otherwise welcome to the forum!
  13. It's fine now. Also think I did something wrong. I'm surpised how litte rattling the car does. Compared to the 106's and clios I've been in that rattle without the subs, just with the bass turned up, the only part that rattles is the number plate, that's a giv'en though.
  14. Just decided that i'm not getting a subwoofer at all. It drains too much power from the alternator (even in standby) and the car instantly cuts out. Also when I started it up with the sub connected to the battery my dashboard dimly lit up at the first turn of the key, also the heated rear screen, rear fog light and side lights on the dash where dimly lit, is this common?
  15. My switches also get pretty warm. I just assumed it was normal - when you see smoke, then you've a problem.
  16. Cheers fellas. It would have been done by today and I'd of posted the progress, but this is not the case due to career reasons. Should be done by Friday, I'm going to set the head unit up first to see if it's working and all the features (cheers for the advice)! I've only seen one earthing point and that underneath the rear lights, but I'll end up wiring it to the seat-belt as it'll probably look tidier. As for the airel lead, do you mean the thick black cable or the black wire on the connector? Probably the thin black wire, to begin with I'll just trial connect it.
  17. Mini Cooper S Works Audi A4 1.9TDi Mitsubishi Colt 1.1 Not a great variety, only 18. :p
  18. Basically a thread to show what everyone is listening to - could be either a popular thread or go downhill. Kilo Kish - Navy Sorry if this thread has already been made - I didn't see one.
  19. Cheers, so far I've only got the power cable through the bulkhead... New head unit it is then. Gettin paid tomorrow, so may buy one and fit it on the night. Thinking of getting this head unit: http://www.halfords....tegoryId_165474 Seems alright for the price, also changing the door speakers whilst I'm at it. Only going to cost around £110 so I'm chuffed!
  20. Cheers mate I appreciate it, but I'm not gonna call in the Skoda people yet :p I've just had a quick look behind the quick panel, do the connectors have to be modified for RCA cables? Because I can't see any RCA ones :/ Also if I get a new head unit do I have to do anything about the constant live? I'm useless at stuff like this.
  21. I was thinking of buying a new pair of speakers this morning, so you can only imagine my joy when one of my friends offered me a sub, amp and wiring for £50. I later discovered the Skoda head unit (Grundig) did not feature RCD's for the subwoofer itself, so I'd have to invest in a new head unit. As I took the head unit out, I put my arm round the back of the dash to simply push it out (After moving the cig lighter and the ashtray), but as I took it out it still had a black plasic casing round the metal of the head unit, and also a metal like cage on the back. I fear I may need to take both of these off as it seems the metal on the back is holding the clip with the wiring in, and the plasic casing may be needed to fit the new head unit. Does anyone know how I'd go about doing this, or if it's even necessary?
  22. Check the fuse box? I heard they can get damp and cause all sorts of problems!
